Clinic director where Joan Rivers was treated steps down after death

The medical director of the ambulatory surgery center where Joan Rivers was treated has stepped down following her death, and is no longer doing procedures there.

The physician, Lawrence Cohen, owns 12 percent of the Yorkville Endoscopy practice on New York's Upper East Side, according to a New York State Health Department document dated July 2013. Cohen, a gastroenterologist, is also listed as a clinical professor at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the hospital's website and is licensed by the state of New York.

"Dr. Cohen is not currently performing procedures at Yorkville Endoscopy; nor is he currently serving as medical director," a spokeswoman for the Yorkville center said in an e mailed statement.

Cohen did not immediately return a call to his personal office requesting comment.

Rivers, 81, was undergoing an endoscopy - a diagnostic procedure where doctors place a scope down the throat - when she stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest on Aug. 28, according to news reports. She died on Sept. 4.

It's unclear how she died or whether anyone was at fault. State health officials are still looking into the comedian's death. "The State Health Department's investigation is ongoing," the agency said in an emailed statement Friday.

Erza Lightfoot, who is the head editor for the long running Los Angeles publication ‘Transgender Times’, had the following to add when she was informed of Michelle’s statement. “This would be a groundbreaking revelation. To have the first openly trans-gender First Lady? This is just what the trans community needs to revolutionize the way in which trans-gendered individuals are perceived by the public at large.”
She ended with, “We thought we had been graced by the first African American presidential family; It is thrilling to think we could be on the precipice of our nation witnessing an African American, Trans, and gay parental unit in the Oval Office. There are a lot of issues in our country today, but having such a progressive First Family is not one of them.”

If this were true, then it would be a very good thing, and they would need as much support as they can get to help them handle the fallout. It might also distract the administration from warmongering, which would be another good thing.

If Michelle did indeed give an interview with NBC on this subject, I would think it would be on their site or on youtube, or somewhere online. Has anyone seen it?

Seriously, is it a problem ? In France, half (more ?) politician are swingers (some also like kids but that's another story), drug addicts and liyng manipulating bastards waiting the summer to make new laws. That last point is far more important in my eyes. That kind of gossip hide the real serious hot subjects.

this ain't a gay thang. I gots no problem wid gay rights. I believe in a level playing field and dignity and respect for all sentient entities. it goes all the way down to animals, other forms of life and most important of all; respecting mother earth.
