Default shadow structures on Google Mars

Did Scott Waring find good proof?

Hmm, pretty flimsy evidence to me. Does indeed appear to be pixels. For a moment thought the shadows were following the "structures" on the crater lip, but do not think is the case. Would require more analysis I should think.

Hmm, reminds me of a time when I was in Graduate School and I saw a JPL article on Mars imagery in Scientific American that showed two rows of lenticular structures perfectly consistently highlighted and fading into the distance with proper perspective. I wrote a letter to the author and got the response: "Residual electronic noise." BS. No way. Only way this could have been would be if the structures were real or they were airbrushed in! The issue of SA was hmm, around 1970. Would be interesting to check this out with the new Mars imagery.
