After all the US has a very high debt problem and no one seems to be tackling it at present. All the wars the US is engaged in where is all the money coming from to pay for it?

Thanks for posting this. Time will tell. As for the debt and our taste for war, the money will come from the printers as usual, via the middle man, the Fed.. Paper is a very recyclable and regenerative commodity, we may run out of ink though... N

There is and will be no depression except that which the populace allows to be.

The vision of hopelessness and despair belongs entirely to the individual and thus the group, if they want it to be that way.

They can end it, or accept it.

They can move into a better world or suck it up and take a beating for no good reason. Their choice.

There must be a thousand different visions of technology and reality that will not allow this 'depression' to happen.

It has been the same group of people that claim that it "will be" who's job it has been to make sure that people do not understand that there are a thousand different paths out of such a trap.

I wouldn't subscribe to dates. There may be a depression in America for the next 25 years, but it will likely be a slow, painful, and numbing burn. There will be no specific onset date (it is already happening). All the while amid an Orwellian propaganda war waged by technocrats and social engineers, which shall placate the masses with messages that all is well and the Republic has never been safer or more prosperous. The comatose will buy into the Ministry of Truth while a much smaller group of aware discontents shall be marginalized, demonized, and silenced by the brainwashed, drugged, and dumbed-down majority.

Perpetual war shall be funded by fiat. There is never a risk of default or running out of money; contrary to naysayers who envision a day of financial reckoning, money is infinite in a system fueled by fiat. The only consequence shall be a gradual slide into full spectrum enslavement of the masses ever indebted to the banking cartel issuing more and more currency, and an ever dwindling purchasing power of that currency in direct proportion to the expenditure of labor, the steady siphoning of the wealth created by our rugged and relatively free forefathers and foremothers, and a steady depletion of savings and earnings of the serfs (i.e., we little people) who must continue to use their own growing indebtedness as a means of exchange.

This is the story of the spider and the fly. The spider has been weaving its web for a long, long time now. This is a gradual entrapment and not something that will suddenly happen on March 30, 2015.

that and a printing press which has been pumping out more paper diluting the existing currency until it is now worth 3% of the same purchasing power in 1913

Agree. We've been in one since 2007. The only thing maintaining the illusion is quantitative easing. What Rickards says about 25 years would be about right. First, the Great Depression was over a decade long and the US only got out because of WW II. Second, re: the March 30, 2015 date, recall that the Chair of the St. Louis Fed Res said that interest rates should increase in the first quarter of 2015. If this happens, the derivatives market would crash and then the stock, bond and housing markets go with it. The curtain drops and it's over.

It can be shortened if people wake up and take back control. It can be done. Iceland leads the world.
