Public Panic over spread of Ebola
Gov't officials and the media have continuously misinformed the public about the Ebola virus so as not to create public panic. Below are a few of those lies but there are many others too:
-- They've not put enough emphasis on the fact that the official death count, that is currently just over 4,000, is not representative on the real death count of unreported cases which, in reality, would double if not triple the official death count number.
-- They've lied about it not being airborne, when it is.
-- They've lied about it not being contagious when an infected person is not yet symptomatic when the fact is they really don't know that for sure mainly due to cases that have indicated otherwise.
-- They've ignored the fact that there is a possibility that dogs and cats when infected could spread the disease too.
-- That our medical systems and networks are actually prepared for the Ebola pandemic when in fact, they clearly are NOT.
-- That the virus is currently not mutating when there is every indication that it has been mutating and will continue to do that as the numbers of the infected continue to increase exponentially.
So my question is, if they've been lying all along like this so as not to cause panic, in what ways do you think the American Public and other Western nations would panic in ways to bring in the National Guard and declare Martial Law?
Obviously our governments are very concerned about this, to the extent that they will continue to misinform the public about just how contagious Ebola actually is and how little we really know about it.
Also, how can the avg. citizen out there protect themselves should the public panic over Ebola and what are the kind of things we should be doing now to get ready for that very real possibility?
