Now I see why he Cops a lot of Bad-Press although much of it is his own doing...

    PSS - Alec Baldwin Quote:

Quote Sean Hannity is too ((DUMB)) to be a ((Terrorist)) because Terrorists need a plan...
That might not make its way onto the Fox TV Screens, but I can ((Assure-You)) it will get back to Hannity and he won't be at all pleased...

Alex Baldwin for President! He is a very intelligent guy. Not like Obama who can't put two words together without his TelePrompTer.

At about the 22 minute mark, Max asks his guests what one thing would they focus on. At 22:35, Alex Baldwin says "campaign finance reform."

This shows how pervasive and how deeply embedded the false meme of the curative power of campaign finance reform is. Alex is sincere. Hell, the folks at Move to Amend and Rootstrikers are sincere.

If your "plan" has as part of its foundation (usually unspoken), "Leave the people that are currently in control, in control, and then we'll..." then your plan is ridiculously inept and impotent - and guaranteed to fail.

If your plan does not include a full exposé of ALL the ways that the Elite took over - and hold - complete control of the electoral paradigm, then how can your plan possibly arrive at a real solution?

Imagine if someone was playing a chess game, and they saw the opponents advancing pawn, and declared, "I see the problem! The problem is THAT pawn! If I effectively deal with THAT pawn, I will win!" So, what do you think of that chess players strategy? All other chess pieces, their positions, and the overall board are ignored, and all attention is directed to the one offending/offensive pawn. Do you think you're watching a good chess player? Do you think this player is correct, and that by simply dealing with that pawn, he will win?

    Of course not.

You don't even need to know how to play chess to know the player is myopic, shortsighted, and has no clue of a real strategy - because he hasn't even stopped to look over the entire board yet. (And probably never will, and will have no clue why he didn't win, and will play the next chess game the same way.)

Campaign finance reform IS important - but it is not the entire chess board. It's also NOT the most powerful "piece" on the chessboard. Almost everyone involved in campaign finance reform has an incredibly weak stance even at the one issue they see as THEE issue!

Real campaign finance reform would result in strictly publicly funded elections, period, not the wimpy regulations that Move to Amend and Rootstrikers are attempting to get. Why aren't they at least going after real campaign finance reform - that is, (extremely modestly) publicly-funded elections where even the candidates themselves could not spend a dollar of their own money. (Evidently, Cenk Uygur's "WolfPAC" has as least included publicly-funded elections as one of their issues.)

So, if publicly-funded elections (the holy grail of campaign finance reform) actually became reality, would we the people (ordinary citizens) gain control over elections and thus gain control over our own governance? Or, would the Elite still remain in control of the electoral paradigm, inserting their pre-selected and vetted (to be Elite-aligned) candidates onto the ballot in the dominant political parties (that the Elite control), and would those pre-selected candidates receive massive campaign support by being shown favorably and frequently on the mass media that the same Elite own?

Yes, there really are methods of staying in control that have nothing to do with campaign finances, and they really are more powerful than campaign finances. (In the USA), there are 9 ways that the Elite stay in control of the entire electoral paradigm. The top/most powerful three methods are non-monetary. Don't you think that a strategy to end the Elite control over elections (and governance) would focus on at least the three most power methods? The 4th, 5th, and 6th most powerful methods ARE monetary. Move to Amend and Rootstrikers do a half-ass job of going after PART of the 4th most powerful method. And those are the two most well known organizations in the US "fighting for" election reform!

Is anyone here friends with Alec Baldwin? Tell him to read The Reset Button document, and the next time someone points a camera and microphone at him, he will have a much better answer than "campaign finance reform", and will understand that we need to stop the Elite all 9 ways, not just 1.

    Dennis

Pressure release valves, controlled opposition, will always say things that sound really good, and give you a release for the tension that is building; but ultimately they will offer no real solutions and "do" absolutely nothing (and infer that the same should be done) or do very little (attack the pawn).

My trust in Russel is about zero, I don't know about Alec but he is so inundated in the main industry of population shaping ("hollywood" entertainment) that he would have to do a lot to gain my trust (and this is not it).
