Hi Rocky_Shortz,

The Libra Oil Field became front page news recently here in Brazil ot because of any great leak or spill, but because it probably contains more oil than first thought, which could reach 15 billion barrels of oil. That would bring Brazil into one of the top four oil producing nations of the world. If BP are after some licenses they would have to let Petrobras have a handsome percentage in the profits from the explotation of the fields.

Brazil could turn into a huge Venezuela (I hope at petrol prices being around 10 cents a gallon!) as it's a socialist country and Chavez used his wad giving money to the masses in exchange for power.

I've looked around the Brazilian news agencies and came upwith nothing regarding BP nor oil spills in the region, but I will keep my eyes open and keep this thread posted if anything comes up.

well I think it is pretty strange, they have known about this oil for a while, but they announced at the same day one of my global event maps reported a spill...

I can't find any info on the spill because it is buried under reports of the new oil find... going to take a little local searching to find any info...

Hi folks!

May be you don´t know, but last weekend we had elections for president in Brazil. Strangelly it was announced on thursday before the election, that was discovered that the libra field is one of the largests in the world and, as Steve said, may turn Brazil the 4th largest oil producer worldwide. As you may have understood at this point, the government has delayed the information until 3 days before the election and tis may helped the government candidate to be elected.

What is happening is, together to the fact that this can make the Brazilian economy jump from the 8th largest one to the 4th one, that is the fact that the elected government may go more to the socialism side and obviously that causes some difficulties to some powerfull people, more yet, if you consider that the south america seems to be slowly going to some kind of socialism side. Now consider the geopolitics... Think about. If you were someday a powerfull capitalist country and discover that suddenly all your neighbours became not capitalist driven....

If you were brazilian and could watch and read everything that is being published about the elected government you would discover that tea party is a chidren party compared with that... That may explain the noise that this oil field may mean.

Just for your information I did not voted for the elected president, but political preference appart, I very clearly understand the kind of wars that are being fought down here at the south of the planet. If there were interesteds I would tell you more and share experiences with some of you at the north side and try to explain how different the things seems to be by our point of view.

I´ve forgot to tell you the best part, of the last post.

Brazil and France are about to signup a strategic and military agreement. Both countries are going to develop together military weapons and share some very strategical technologies. The man behind this, is from the same cabinet of the new elected vice-president, that, as I told you, is supposed to be a High degree freemason. Some people see this two things as a strong movement from the rotschields. At the same time Brazil is financing directly and indirectly the south americans economies and refusing to follow some UN directions, as for example happend with Honduras, Haiti, Iran and Palestins.

Now supposed that all of this, may be upgrade with a huge ammount of money to spend, because the oil fields that Brazil has discovered in the last 2 years, that launched Brazil from an unimport positiong worldwide among oil producers into, may be, the 4th one and growing fast.

What would change if someone that it is not exactly your friend start to turn more powerfull (rotschields x rockfellers)? If you were someone from the rockefellers and notice that happening, how would you feel? Could it affect the delicated balance?

The political opposition here is clearly allied with Bill Clinton, Alan Greenspan and others neo-liberals, meaning rockfellers folks.

If you were here, what would you prefer? Rockfellers or Rotschields?

Sorry but I´m not happy with the perspectives.

Hi Marcelo,

I understand where you're coming from, but I shouldn't worry about it too much. As I see it, France needs Brazil as much as Brazil needs France (nothing to do with Masons nor Rockerfellers or Rothschilds).

France needs to make money, it needs to sell technology, if I remember correctly didn't Lula decide to buy French fighter jets even though they were more expensive than their competition in the 'licitação'? So anyway France is trying to sell to the countries that have real money, like Brazil and even more now because of the wealth of oil and minerals deposits which Brazil has in Bahia and Minas (not to mention Amazonia!).

Brazil for her part needs to re-vamp her military weapons. Let's face it, Brazil has only one aircraft carrier to protect thousands of kilometers of coastline, the FAB has outdated jets and the army is using out of date weapons, just ask those who are fighting against the drug cartels in Rio.

So as I see it, France will protect Brazil as it becomes the source of Frances' income and Brazil protects France as it's the source of her technology, a fair exchange. It's also clear that countries are begining to distance themselves from the US, with politicians begining to speak out about the US regime, probably because they see a wounded dog and in the political world we all know what happens to a wounded dog, it gets kicked.

Where you see the brilliant future of Brazil, choosing her allies carefully, as some sort of dirty underhand deal, I see it as a golden opportunity to become one of the world leaders, not only in economic terms, but as living conditions wise also (20 years ago lessthan 50% of kids were in school, now it's over 85%, just like most developed countries).

For the little guys like you and I, we should look for opportunities, even more in the future look for a 'developed' country to live because the economy is cheaper, just as Brazil was 15 years ago, when inflation was rampant.

Beleive you me, we're in for a good time over the next few years.
