The gold reserves of the worlds top 20 countries is reported to be 27,735 tonnes or 978,304,534 ounces. At today's price of $1,228/oz that equals $1.2 trillion dollars.

Dollars in circulation (1.29 trillion), bank accounts (2.5 trillion) and money market & CDs (10.5 trillion) totals $14.29 trillion US dollars. That's approximately 12 times more than the reported world gold reserves for only US dollars. Who knows the value of all world currencies.?

Can someone tell me how world currencies can be pegged to the gold standard?
