every Brit capable of thought understood back in November, 2013.

The inquiry produced a damning assessment of Blair’s conduct as well as the British

A fake intelligence source fooled MI6 with false reports based on the action movie ‘The Rock’, which
ended up being used to justify Britain’s invasion of Iraq in 2003, the Chilcot report has revealed.

The Chilcot report into Britain’s involvement in the invasion of Iraq is highly critical of the UK intelligence
services, claiming it provided the government with “flawed” information, including about Saddam Hussein’s
alleged weapons of mass destruction (WMD) – the basis for going to war.

In September 2002, MI6 chief Sir Richard Dearlove reported the agency was on the edge of a “significant
breakthrough” after finding a new source inside Iraq with “phenomenal access” to information about suspected WMDs.’

John Prescott: Ex-deputy PM says Iraq War was illegal

John Prescott, who was deputy prime minister when Britain went to war
with Iraq in 2003, says the invasion by UK and US forces was "illegal".

Writing in the Sunday Mirror, he said he would live with the "catastrophic
decision" for the rest of his life.

Lord Prescott said he now agreed "with great sadness and anger" with
former UN secretary general Kofi Annan that the war was illegal.

He also praised Labour's Jeremy Corbyn for apologising on the party's behalf.

Lord Prescott also said Prime Minister Tony Blair's statement that "I am with
you, whatever" in a message to US President George W Bush before the
invasion in March 2003, was "devastating".

‘Egyptian lawmakers have called for former British prime minister Tony Blair and
ex-US president George W. Bush to be put on trial for war crimes as a newly
released report challenged the legality of the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq.

The Egyptian parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs made the request in a
statement released on Friday, two days after Sir John Chilcot’s long-awaited
report of his inquiry into the UK’s participation in the Iraq war found that the
military intervention was based on flawed intelligence.

The Chilcot report “has exposed the false reasons which … Bush and … Blair had
exploited to wage their illegitimate war against Iraq,” the statement read, adding
that the war on Iraq left over one million people dead and millions more injured
and displaced.’

For the fourth time in seven years, the British government has intervened to protect
Tzipi Livni, Israel’s former foreign minister, from a possible a war crimes investigation
into her role in Israel’s attack on the Gaza Strip in December 2008.

Last week, ahead of her planned trip to London for a conference organized by the
Tel Aviv newspaper Haaretz, Scotland Yard’s War Crimes Unit telephoned Livni to
invite her to come in for a voluntary police interview.

After receiving the summons, Israel initiated “diplomatic contact” with Britain,

intelligence about weapons of mass destruction was never questioned. Former CIA analyst
Ray McGovern tells RT America’s Anya Parampil: “The evidence wasn’t mistaken, it was

war illegal, and although it failed to examine the real motives for war, the report
was not quite the whitewash that had been feared by peace campaigners.

Lindsey German, convenor of the Stop the War Coalition, gave a succinct summary
of the Chilcot report, listing four of the main findings (each followed by our own comment):

1. There was no imminent threat to Britain from Saddam Hussein, so war in March
2003 was unnecessary.

In reality: utterly devastated by war, bombing and 12 years of sanctions, Iraq posed

‘What stands out in the British Iraq Inquiry (Chilcot) report is the sidestepping
of the war crime issue. But then it was carefully placed outside its scope.
This omission aside, the indictments remain, damning and morally appalling.
Thus it confirms the war was launched on a false pretext. Major General
Michael Laurie made plain in his testimony that Tony Blair’s notorious
“dossier” was designed to persuade Members of Parliament to vote for the war:
“We knew at the time that the purpose of the dossier was precisely to make a
case for war rather than setting out the available evidence.” In this, he echoes
CIA Director George Tenet’s notorious “slam dunk case.”

So it was, a war based on hyped up intelligence instead of objective assessment;
a fact clearly not overlooked by the inquiry when it concluded in its damming
assessment (judgment?), that the invasion was not a “last resort” because
peaceful options had not been exhausted.’
