Default Stunning new advance in metallurgy - nano-coated steel, stronger and more durable

MIT Technology Review has posted news of a stunning advancement in metallurgy, using fluctuating voltages on steel parts immersed in solutions of various metals to control the structure of metals on a nano-scale. The resulting metal components can be quite large, with finely controlled composition of various metals, yielding much stronger parts that are much more corrosion resistant.

From Nano-Manufacturing Makes Steel 10 Times Stronger (Technology Review):

    ==========
An inexpensive new process can increase the strength of metals such as steel by as much as 10 times, and make them much more resistant to corrosion. If the modified metals pass field testing, the new process could go on to make bridges and other infrastructure last far longer; it could also make cars lighter and therefore more fuel-efficient.

The Seattle-based startup that developed the process, Modumetal, is commercializing it in part with collaboration with the oil companies Chevron, Conoco-Philips, and Hess.

Parts made using the technology are being tested in oil fields now. Some oil contains highly corrosive chemicals such as hydrogen sulfide that quickly damage production equipment. The new technology could make those parts last much longer and thus lower the cost of pursuing unconventional sources of oil. That could be just the first of a wide range of applications.

The advance is based on the fact that controlling the structure of metals at the nanoscale can imbue those materials with new properties. This has been possible for some time, but it’s been difficult to do reliably and economically with large pieces of metal. Modumetal has developed a process that gives it precise control over the structure of metals, and which allows it to make parts that are meters long. CEO Christina Lomasney says the process costs the same as conventional metal treatments such as galvanization.

Modumetal uses an advanced form of electroplating, a process already used to make the chrome plating you might see on the engine and exhaust pipes of a motorcycle. Electroplating involves immersing a metal part in a chemical bath containing various metal ions, and then applying an electrical current to cause those ions to form a metal coating.

The company uses a bath that contains more than one kind of metal ion and controls how ions are deposited by varying the electrical current. By changing the current at precise moments, it can create a layered structure, with each layer being several nanometers thick and of different composition. The final coating can be up to a centimeter thick and can greatly change the properties of the original material.

Paul, sir, this is just too cool.
Imagine how much cheaper spacecraft components could get <3

    I am super excited, heh

I wonder if glass could get this nano treatment to resist space dust/rock impact?
maybe silly but not so silly?

edited: I thought of this over 15 years ago and put it on paper about 4-5 years ago.

I've been hinting of it, kicking around the edges of it, on this board, for about 4 years now.

    They're getting warmer....

There are ways to refine it - even further. Much further.

One can find my posts on the guy who spent years digging through the soil around the Roswell crash site, and found some debris that he had analyzed.

    Big hint there.

I remember when Scientific American had a contest for the best use of nitinol in a new product. That was at least twenty years ago.

The electro-plating technique shows a lot of promise...It might even be possible to create a true room temperature super conductor if the properties of the material could be controlled enough.

    now you are getting warm.

    Hint...no, a fully blown answer:

Viscosity in flowing systems is lower that static lattice locked ones. Besides exclusion zones being the norm within a flowing system. Thus AC carriers will be the norm in DC room temp superconductors. As they were assembled that way, in the first place.

That is the only way it will work in a stable manner.

Which is exactly how the UFO micro layered skin technology works.

Which was what was found in the sifting of the sands, in the micro analysis of the debris from the Roswell site.

So there you go, a 'move the thing ahead by a decade' card was just played.

This is part of frank Kimbler's analysis of debris he found through very meticulous sifting of the sands at the Roswell crash site.

Note the micro layering of the system, which is probably part of the skin of the dimensional anti-gravity craft. It is fired up via the same method that it is manufactured.

Slight DC on a AC carrier system. this kind of information is worth upward into the trillions.

Note the 'MIT Review' thing is exactly that, or at least that -----in the preliminary stages.

The kind of data that is too big to be kept to individuals as it's sheer mass and difference will kill the carrier who tries to keep it to themselves. The differential is too great for it to be held, with regards to trying to keep it secret while still operating inside of human spheres of influence.

Note, specifically, the exact resemblance to this:

Inventor, James B. Schwartz of the Philippines, has come up with a device that allegedly puts out as much as six kilowatts of electricity, tying into the Earth's frequencies, using a solid state arrangement in a panel made from "left-handed material" -- Aluminum and Bismuth interwoven with coils.

    http://peswiki.com/index.php/Directo...rch_Foundation

(these are made with aluminum and bismuth sheets, correctly oriented then individually tuned for the given ley line or energetic locale.) (again, do not mess with these, as the energies are resonant and play well outside of the immediate idea of 'electricity for your sorry and simple ass')(disturbing the local time-space continuum, just because you are pouty and pissed off...and want to make toast without paying the power company, is a really really stupid idea)

Aluminum, which Nikolai Kozyrev stated slows aether waves or 'out of time' waves by a factor of about two.

    http://divinecosmos.com/start-here/b...-dr-na-kozyrev

Bismuth which is ESSENTIAL to the task of manufacturing 'the philosopher's stone.' which is superconductive and dimensional shifting and based on gold, so when consumed, it attaches to Human DNA and makes it dimensional and superconductive, ie eternal, out of time, connected to all. Not a game, do not **** with this stuff!, without years of mental and physical preparation...or you will blow yourself to pieces. Seriously. You have been warned.

Researchers first to observe Higgs boson analogue in superconductors

So there you go...Higgs boson, or the carrier of the system, on a tabletop, in superconductors.

The discovery of the Higgs boson verified the Standard Model, which predicted that particles gain mass by passing through a field that slows down their movement through the vacuum of space. "Just as the CERN experiments revealed the existence of the Higgs boson in a high-energy accelerator environment, we have now revealed a Higgs boson analogue in superconductors," says Prof. Aviad Frydman, a member of Bar-Ilan University's Department of Physics, who directed the study together with Prof. Martin Dressel, of Stuttgart University, as part of an international collaboration that also included other research teams from Israel, India and the United States. Doctoral student Daniel Sherman, a member of Frydman's Bar-Ilan laboratory, conducted much of the investigation and is listed as the publication's first author.

Frydman explains that the new discovery brings the search for the Higgs boson back to its source. "Ironically, while the discussion about this 'missing link' in the Standard Model was inspired by superconductor theory, the Higgs mode was never actually observed in superconductors because of technical difficulties - difficulties that we've managed to overcome."

In their Nature Physics publication, Frydman and his colleagues describe a new method for conducting Higgs physics experiments. "The high energy required to excite a Higgs mode in superconductors tends to break apart the electron pairs serving as this type of material's basic charge. This causes rapid decay into particle-hole pairs, and suppresses the material's superconducting nature," Frydman says. "We solved this problem by using disordered and ultra-thin superconducting films of Niobium Nitrite (NbN) and Indium Oxide (InO) near the superconductor-insulator critical point - a state in which recent theory predicted the rapid decay of the Higgs would no longer occur. This created the conditions to excite a Higgs mode at relatively low energies."

According to Frydman, observation of the Higgs mechanism in superconductors is significant because it reveals how a single type of physical process behaves under drastically different energy conditions. "Exciting the Higgs mode in a particle accelerator requires enormous energy levels - measured in giga-electronvolts, or 109 eV," Frydman says. "The parallel phenomenon in superconductors occurs on a different energy scale entirely - just one-thousandth of a single electronvolt. What's exciting is to see how, even in these highly disparate systems, the same fundamental physics is at work."

Moreover, the robust nature of the newly-observed Higgs mode in superconductors could make it easier for scientists to study the still-controversial "God particle" - the elusive "missing link" in the Standard Theory of particle physics believed responsible for imparting mass to all the matter in the universe. Thanks to this new approach, it may soon be possible to solve long-standing mysteries of fundamental physics, through experiments conducted - not in a multi-billion dollar accelerator complex - but on a laboratory tabletop.

It has to do with molecular organization, or complex polarity agreement and coupling between electron orbitals. Addition of thermal energy separates them enough for working the material and then it is 'set' via various applications/levels of thermal addition and subtraction.

Similar to magnets, which can be disorganized (made to be unpolarized) by applications of heat/thermal energies. Magnetism and time/space/gravity are closely related. think iron based superconductors. In reality superconductivity is everywhere and every-when, but on the Planck length scale, and associated at the quantum to quantum level. We do it all the time, in our bodies.

If this was not true, I would not be able to see through time approximately all of my life and about +15,000 times. Among a bunch of other phenomena, which I also deal with like OBEs and astral travel and the like.... like all matter and time-space having other dimensional analogs.

Yeah. You tease the property you want out of a few central microscopic layers by manipulating the fields on layers further from the core, thereby creating a quantum exclusion zone in a two-dimensional macro structure. Cool

I remember when Scientific American had a contest for the best use of nitinol in a new product. That was at least twenty years ago.

The electro-plating technique shows a lot of promise...It might even be possible to create a true room temperature super conductor if the properties of the material could be controlled enough.
In case if there are unheard people around here.

Dumb question: how does this substance remember only as far back as when it was a paperclip and not an earlier factory stage as part of a coil of wire?

Actually it is not a dumb question because of it's answer's complexity.

I concur carmody's answer but just want to add more it.

Memory in matter has multiple layers. Creation time memory is different than second existent's memory, it related with shape changing points. Austenite is hot temperature phase you can create it just after melting point. Martensite is final phase but it can always be tempered with another austenite phase. if you use different molecules(must be have strong magnetic force(will) like nickels and titanium, their coexist memory will be different than their alone memory.

PS:Some conspiracy theorist blame this speciality in use of making air-plane, helicopter, car parts and cause accidents.(!) After accident each parts seems normal except magnetic charm. Insurance companies excepting as a manufacturing fault of parts, if it found out.

Think H2O . It has different molecular memories in ice, liquid, gas form. Heat is a vibrant force to shift the shape in this sample.

PS:Human memory is not much different then metal memory(only it needs different tempering force)

The key point being that each atomic layer or lattice structure organization, is built that way, it accumulates in the desired pattern, via the build method. Like that of chemical vapour deposition, but in more subtle ways.

In this way, one can build a better solar panel.

Superconductive or near superconductive inclusive solar panels. Very high levels of efficiency. Dimensional doors.

Which takes us to the skrying effect, the using of an open pool of water, in trance, to see through time and space. Or the building of the pyramids, a layered system of refractive change in effects from one state to another. Like a stack of resonant coupled accelerating and energy shifting lenses, all acting like diode-pumps/stacks of phononic and resonant aetheric energy. Suddenly... the technical aspects of the 'Jumproom to Mars' becomes very very real.

    Ancient energy:

    And modern science... both agree.

I'm drifting off topic to illustrate where this goes, but I will return to the topic.

circling back to the 'space race' and all that area of endeavor,.

how the real space program has built itself down those lines of utilizing these above mentioned properties, for the manufacturing of anti-gravity and dimensional craft.

What has happened on the public front, is the DISTRACTION of a rocket based space program. A 'flipping of a nickel' at the public, while they build something that costs into the trillions, into a breakaway civilization. A place and space where they end up meeting other races and enter into treaties with them, agreements, and so on. Some of them in the name of humanity and each individual human, but outside of the knowledge of the given humans. that TECHNICALLY, by word of treaty, we, as unaware individuals and our own internal rules and interpretation of such rules (human affairs), we are bound to the things, in treaties... that are not shown to us. Only vaguely indicated, not directly shown or explained to us. Just enough to follow the word of the given interstellar treaty.

So we get this constant never moving forward rocket based space program, always the promise, but never delivered, always held in check, circling back around to the exact spot it possessed back in the 60's, about 50 years back. Essentially, they give you this, over and over again:

Which is impossible.... as NO OTHER TECHNOLOGY area has moved/advanced this slow, in all of humanity's technological races and rates of change. None. Zero. Everything else has flown by space and gravity technologies, with respect to the advancement of those other fields. we see hints and other similar technologies (anti-gravity,dimensional, temporal, over-unity, etc....in the hundreds of examples, if we bother to look.

Some folks think that Elon Musk is more of the same blocking, the same slowing down and a corporate establishment. I think otherwise. I think that Elon existing, as a private individual and company, in the space race, is forcing their hand. That they cannot recycle the same space dream, and crash it, delay it, slow it down, over and over again, as they have for the past 50-60 years.

He's forcing the hand of black systems of corporate/military/government based clandestine space race and technology race systems, out of the dark corners where they went, in the aftermath of WWII.

    As this man said:

“We already have the means to travel among the stars, but these technologies are locked up in black projects and it would take an act of God to ever get them out to benefit humanity….. anything you can imagine we already know how to do.” - Ben Rich, former Head of the Lockheed Skunk Works

So Elon is forcing 'them' out (into motion and public view), as his Tesla electric cars also force the oil and energy control systems out of the black corners where they have involved themselves in control and manipulation of the human race and all they are connected to.

What the space race really needs is the nex-gen materials for weight control and the nex-gen materials for dimensional craft skins and their associated effects and functions. To all be in the one package, skin, build, space, effects, actions, control, drive systems, etc..all in one. That's the pieces that Phil Schneider was showing to people, in his talks.... what was found in the sands of the Roswell crash site...by a very determined Frank Kimbler (stuff the military missed in their clean up). The space race needs this nanolayered technique for building the skins of craft that work like the UFO's we see, some of which can be our own, or of other origin.

There is also the chance that treaties, etc, are also holding humanity back, so we don't get yet another space monkey/animal, out there, interstellar wise... tear-assing around the space'nam, causing everyone grief. At the same time, we are getting picked on by the already existing nasty types. Which our holding back may be about our planet being fully opened up, if we venture into space fully, ie a normalization of space relations, as we move into space. A non-quarantined, non protected zone. Humanity, in the break away group, may be trying to get far enough ahead in technology, before that happens.

The problem is that this group or some of that group... appears to be two-faced, in some ways... and is also stomping on the bulk of humanity (killing us off), at the same time. With or without other or alien(what we might call alien)/dimensional race help/aid.

So we have a group that is probably representing humanity in treaties, while the other side of this Janus-like (two faced) representative, is dumbing down the population via destruction of the population. Basically, a breakaway civilization, splitting the human race into an advanced component... and one that is purposely being turned down, into idiots and a dying off dead end. If you find yourself out of the know and out here in the streets, with UFO's overhead, no space and no dimensional technology... and being fed GMO foods, and nasty chemicals, and being hit with chemtrails, I think you can understand what side of that mess you are on....

To take the above at face value....the next thought is...I also think that some of those treaty signers would LIKE to intervene and stop this madness, but this is an internal earth affair.

For that to happen (enough of a change in the fundamental situation to allow for other options) the entire overall human race, the bulk of the masses who are currently held unaware, would need some form of technological and awareness change in their midst, for this to occur... and move them forward.

We need people like Elon Musk, who is pushing the double lie out of the center of our lives (per the above Ben Rich quote) and into the garbage can, where it belongs.

We need this nano-layering technology to provide the avenue to lighter and stronger components which are multifunction inclusive...for our next technological leap, into lighter rocket craft for Elon's effort.

At the same time, the change over and into dimensional technologies via the same techniques can and will be occurring.

I specifically wrote all this stuff, these posts, over the years....coupling the potentials in build and design and extrapolated/extended meaning... -- for that exact reason. To push the pile forward and to force the immovable block ---out of the system.

Without Elon's forcing of the situation, it would not happen, and without this 'nano-layering' technology being out in the open, it would not happen.

From a news report on this subject of this Modumetal company:

Quote The company later discovered they weren’t the first to invent process technology for nanolaminated materials – a company called Delphi invented a process technology for the large-scale application of nanolaminated materials in the automotive industry.

“We bought [Delphi’s] technology out of bankruptcy and identified that this kind of architecture and material can address all kinds of challenges, not the least of which is the combination of wear and corrosion challenges that the oil and gas industry faces,” Lomasney said.

Modumetal then adapted the Delphi process to allow for larger scale production to meet oil and gas industry needs, and started developing a class of alloys targeting upstream oil and gas coatings for wear and corrosion protection. But this platform technology and the concept of architecting materials through lamination will have potential applications in a number of industrial sectors, Lomasney noted.

Let us look at this one, so it becomes clear.

    Delphi, ie the oracle:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delphi_Automotive

1994: General Motors formed Automotive Components Group.
1995: ACG was renamed Delphi Automotive Systems.
1997: GM and Hughes Electronics Corporation spin-off of Hughes Defense electronics business and transfer Delco Electronics from Hughes to Delphi.

    Dephi had owned TRW:

When aerospace company Northrop Grumman purchased competitor TRW in 2002, it sold TRW's automotive division to private equity firm Blackstone Group. TRW Automotive went public in a February 2004 initial public offering (IPO), after which Blackstone held a 56.7% interest in TRW, Northrop Grumman, 17.2%, and TRW management, 1.7%. The company can trace its history back to TRW Inc's beginnings in 1901, but was founded as TRW Automotive in 2002.

Blackstone, now there's an interesting group, if there ever was one.

Back to TRW, which was broken up. Let's go further back into TRW's past:

Quote This article is about the former company. For the current company with a similar name, see TRW Automotive.

TRW Inc. was an American corporation involved in a variety of businesses, mainly aerospace, automotive, and credit reporting(!?!?).[2] It was a pioneer in multiple fields including electronic components, integrated circuits, computers, software and systems engineering. TRW built many spacecraft, including Pioneer 1, Pioneer 10, and several space-based observatories. It was #57 on the Fortune 500 list,[3] and had 122,258 employees.[1]

TRW’s roots were founded in 1901, and it lasted for more than a century until being acquired by Northrop Grumman in 2002. It helped create a variety of corporations, including Thompson Ramo Wooldridge (source of TRW acronym), Pacific Semiconductors, the Aerospace Corporation, Bunker-Ramo, Experian, and TRW Automotive which is now #161 on the Fortune 500.[4]

In 1953, the company was recruited to lead the development of America’s first ICBM.[5][6] Starting with the initial design by Convair, the multi-corporate team launched Atlas in 1957[7] after some spectacular failures. It flew its full range in 1958, and was adapted to fly the Mercury astronauts into orbit.[7] TRW also led development of the Titan missile,[5] which was later adapted to fly the Gemini missions. The company served the US Air Force as systems engineers on all subsequent ICBM development efforts,[8] but TRW never produced any missile hardware because of the conflict of interest.[9] In 1960, Congress spurred the formation of the non-profit The Aerospace Corporation to provide systems engineering to the US government,[5] but TRW continued to guide the ICBM efforts.
Ie, space race companies, on the black side. Just out of sight. The public space race, vs the dark and hidden one.

FYI, the Atlas program was the spawning point of the internet. You can find my posts on this subject via a search.

    Credit reporting??

Now there's an odd one for an aerospace corporation of such explicit technical capacity and experience.... to be involved in.

It is very odd....Unless you consider the very wide and well substantiated and explicitly evidenced claims... that the entire financial mess that humanity is in,... is all about funding a hidden breakaway civilization, one based on tasking humanity into the ground as a lever and a stepping stone (stepping on your sacrificed and abused corpse).
