    Default Flow Hive Honey

This is a revolutionary idea that has just been launched today. It is out of Australia. They were originally going to do it from the "Kickstarter" site but there was a problem with the us dollar and decided to do it from indeigogo instead. This idea is wonderfully exciting. It falls in line with "permaculture" farming that is also revolutionary in it's concept.

I just felt the need to post some uplifting enterprising happenings that are gonna help change our great planet.

I have been thinking about keeping bees for a while now - this looks fabulous, no messing about with pine smoke and wearing protective netting e.t.c

Northern Tasmanian Beekeepers Association (part of the Tasmanian Beekeepers Association).
    Good bunch with wide knowledge.

Meet once a month in Launceston.

If memory serves, as part of membership they grant access for a member to have a hive at their site on the West Coast (Leatherwood honey is the premium Tasmanian honey).

Lots of pollination service operators attend the AGM etc.

Plus they have sample sessions at meetings (including mead -- hmmmm, mead).

Might be worth a look to get gear & starters etc.

PS the Flow Hive does look like a good idea though you'd still need to use a smoker etc for tending the hive. It's not a "set and leave" scenario. The bees still need to be looked after (water, syrup, etc) and checked for mites, disease etc.

    its very cool...
but it may also cause a lot of issues in the hive...
1 the bees wont find honey behind the capped cells when they want to eat honey in winter
    2. those frames will turn into a total mess in no time...

    btw. I keep bees....
