    Default Amtrak train derails

    I am surprised no one at avalon has commented on this accident.
    Does anyone know the cause?

    Stuxnet
    maybe? Or they want mass transit to look unsafe so we stay in our individual automobiles using more petrol. Or, somebody got drunk at work and royally screwed up.

    Quote Speed is one issue that investigators are seriously looking at in light of the angles of the wreckage and type of damage to the cars, according to an official with direct knowledge of the investigation. The speed limit in the crash area is around 50 mph (80 kph).

    The media will present this as "the train was travelling to fast around the bend" so the train crew will be pilloried as usual when in fact they are victims equally with the passengers.

    The truth lies in the financial cutbacks impacting inspections of both the tracks and the carriage systems. On the tracks are elctromechnical safety devices which interact with the train as "supervisory controls" and should work in parallel (generally) with the crew.

    Its early days, so the investigation should highlight the true cause. The maintenance and inspection records are key to this scrutiny.

    As an aside to this story but nevertheless associative is the announcement that Dupont (US) is being forced to cutback on R&D and other performance and business enhancing programmes to win further investment for the future. Forced on them by some new hedge fund group. This will destroy the US as a world leader in material science.
    This is a growing trend in the West. As the BRICs grow, the West is destroyed.

    I do hope dear reader you see a pattern here.

    The (US Govt) House Appropriations Committee backed a $55 billion transportation bill that would cut roughly $251 million from Amtrak’s budget.

    Stripped by the inch is the plan, so that people keep hope and ignorance in place.

    So they think that whatever it is, it won't come for them.

    The death of a thousand cuts, just out of the everyperson's sight. (out of their capacity to understand)

    They are being played like the penguins of Antarctica, who are unfamiliar with humans.

    Humans can walk, sit, etc...among penguins - with no issues, as the penguins don't recognize humans as a form of a threat.

    A stark reminder that in critical ways, critical aspects of life and being, that humans have aspects are no less capable of being utilized against them ......than that of a dog, or a cow.

    My grandfather was a brakeman on freight trains in the early 80's. He strongly strongly suggested that we never ride on Amtrak trains. The reason he said was that the Amtrak train rides on the same tracks as the freight trains. And the Amtrak trains run substantially faster on the tracks than the freight trains. He said that even at some of the speeds freight trains are allowed to go can be too fast for the conditions of the tracks.
    Amtrak speed limits are much higher than freight train speed limits. That is always an accident waiting to happen.
    I guess the train going 107 mph had nothing to do with the crash.

    Ok.

    We're finally finding the meat on the bones on this one.

    Derailed Amtrak Cars Nearly Hit ‘Bomb Train’

    They missed the bomb train by fifty yards. The bomb train was a petroleum train.

    We're probably looking at a potential of... a clandestine computer based hack on the controlling hardware for the Amtrak trains, so that the keystone pipeline can go forward.

    So the 'North American Union' fascist north American takeover plan can go forward.

    This is how it works.

    If the Amtrak trains run on the same tracks as the petroleum trains and in the area of Philadelphia, the city proper..then..take over the controlling hardware and software, and crash one of the trains INTO the petroleum trains. Simple straightforward sociopath logic. Easy as breathing.

    So, the investigation should be surround the exact placement of the given petroleum train with regard to it's proximity to the given derailment corner. That, tied to how the hell the train got up to 100mph in a 50 mph zone.

    IF the train crashed, hit the petroleum train, and the thing was rigged to 'go off', and then have a conflagration like that of what happened in Quebec, except have it be major city sized. Philadelphia sized.

    Then.... people get into a uproar about the mess.

    The Obama administration and whomever else is involved, would be forced to backtrack on the new (due to disaster) support for the keystone pipeline.

    The Keystone pipeline which is apparently still moving forward, even though it is officially denied existence. look into it.

    Therefore, there exists tremendous circumstantial evidence that SOMEONE is trying to make the pipeline happen, at ANY cost, thousands of lives, if need be.

    IF..it is real, and there is reason to believe it very might be (this sort of thing has been true a thousand times before in known history), I'd almost be willing to bet that a whole terrorist scenario was and is ready to go as a side order of fascist oligarchical control systems enactment. ie, a paranoid 'running of the public' to add in some more controls, laws, paranoia and public compliance. Something that required the petroleum train to go up in flames, in order to be triggered. ISIS is coming to get you!!!!! Etc!!! We must be paranoid, the population must submit, and contract into slavery..as...they want our freedoms! The mark of the hidden hand is where one enacted scenario/situation/act.... enables multiple angles and plans to move forward. Waste not - want not.

    This is starting to look like the hidden hand of black ops corporate involvement. I mean, even as I was finishing reading the sentence that stated how close the train came to the particular petroleum train.... I knew what I was looking at. 'Petroleum train, missed by 50 yards', is all it took, and the logic was clear.

    Ie, willing to kill as many as it takes, in order to get their way. If true, we're probably looking at a scheme that took someone about four to six months to put together.

    So, terrorism, paranoia, the public submitting, internal to the country controls on transport and even driving cars, checkpoints at railway stations, travel permits, the whole damn thing.

    someone's wet dream of of the fascist bastion of north America probably failed that day.

    Don't worry, they'll try again.

    Coming your way soon.

    (this subject, as a potential in fake terrorist scenarios enacted by black groups, is also discussed over the past year, on this forum, regarding rail disasters with petroleum trains) (this is not new, it is a known avenue in potentials)

    Hello all! and good morning (I hope!)

    Here is a really really strange blurb, I found it at Deviant Art while trying very hard to see what class of locomotive was involved. Here is what stood out:

    http://thomaslionelengine1.deviantar...dent-532754639

    Quote The engine that everyone claims to be #188 pulling its train is not really no. 188. The truth behind it, Amtrak #188 is actually a GE Genesis Class Diesel Locomotive.

    It turned out that the locomotive at the head of the train was actually #601 of the new ACS-64 Class (Amtrak Cities Sprinter) hauling the passenger service from Washington D.C., and not actually GE Genesis Class Diesel #188.

    This is also the first time the new Amtrak Sprinter Electric Diesel Class had its first accident expreience, as the project of building an approximute number of 70 in total of this class of new diesel electric locomotives to be build since 2012 as the beginnng.

    With the first of the 64-Class avalable to start its first run since February 7, 2014, the breed of this diesel engine design went well smoothly with no problems, until now. No details of #601 to be repaired is likely unknown whether or not it will be repaired to run again. Thanks to Bostian and the cost it'll take to repaire the mainline and the train, and pay the number of people's deaths to the relatives of them.

    The reason I was looking up GE Locomotives was, we had that recent Louisville fire at the GE appliance park, about one month before Elon Musk of Tesla Motors unveiled some of their home battery tech --

    fast forward to the present day, and we're looking at (possibly?) a General Electric locomotive malfunction...

    So odd, right? That there would be any controversy over what type of engine eek

    Derailed Amtrak Cars Nearly Hit ‘Bomb Train’

    They missed the bomb train by fifty yards. The bomb train was a petroleum train.
    From Derailed Amtrak Cars Nearly Hit ‘Bomb Train’ (TheDailyBeast):

    ====

    Reports emerged Wednesday afternoon that the derailed train came close to plowing into one or more Conrail oil tanker train cars. One witness told CNN the train missed a tanker “by maybe 50 yards.” Conrail, whose lines carry between 45 and 80 oil trains through Philadelphia each week, transports crude oil headed to refineries in south Philadelphia or terminals and refining operations in New Jersey. Crude oil is explosive, and some in the media have dubbed these tankers “bomb trains.”

    At a press conference Wednesday evening, Robert Sumwalt, a member of the National Transportation Safety Board, said the oil tankers near to the derailed Amtrak train were not full, though he did not say they contained no crude oil.
    ====

    From Did the Derailed Amtrak Train Nearly Collide With an Oil-Filled Freight Car? (The Philidelphia Citified Magazine):

    ====

    Emergency responders work on an overturned Amtrak car close to tanker cars on May 12, 2015.
    Photograph by Bryan Woolston
    There’s a terrifying sight in the background of some photos from Tuesday night’s horrific Amtrak derailment: a series of black rail cars, the color and shape of Tootsie Rolls.

    They look like standard rail tanker cars, and while we don’t yet know for certain what was in them, it probably wasn’t corn syrup. In fact, there’s a good chance those tankers were filled with crude oil.

    Between 45 and 80 oil trains rumble through Philadelphia each week; some of them are a mile long or more. They’re hauling crude — a lot of it from North Dakota — that’s destined either for the refinery in South Philadelphia or terminals and refining operations along the Jersey side of the Delaware River.

    One of the big oil train routes is the freight line that runs parallel to Amtrak’s track on the northeastern corridor. Trains from points west travel that track to reach the South Jersey crude consumers.

    Judging from the photos, the out-of-control train came uncomfortably close to plowing into one or more of those tanker cars. It’s frightening to imagine how much worse this tragedy could have been. One witness told CNN the train missed a tanker “by maybe 50 yards.”

    By the morning of May 13th, the tankers appeared to have been moved. Associated Press photo
    In some images from the scene, it looks as though the train got even closer to the tanker than that
    ====

    From Witness to Amtrak 188 crash: Train missed 'tanker by maybe 50 yards'(CNN):

    ====
    "It missed that parked tanker by maybe 50 yards," he told KYW. "An Amtrak guy came by and he was telling me it turns out those tankers are full, and if that engine would've hit that tanker, it would've set off an explosion like no other."
    ====

    So (from bits and pieces of the above) we've gone from full oil tankers that just missed getting hit, to not full (perhaps empty) tankers used for unknown liquids, and that have been moved further away.

    No doubt just the confusion of the moment, and moving things out of the way of the rescue effort ... riiiiiiight.

    Notice in the last image above that the engine of the derailed train (visible in the upper left of the image) is sitting right on top of the rails that held the tankers, which are now moved, but still visible in the lower left of that last image.

    If it had been just the passenger cars hitting the tanker cars, that might have been a fair wrestling match. But when a big locomotive comes your way, unless you're a granite mountain or some such, you realize whatever potential you had to move, break into pieces and/or burst into flames.

    If that locomotive had hit those oil tankers that were sitting just yards up the track from where the runaway locomotive was rampaging ... big badda boom.

    Perhaps another piece of the puzzle - the train sped up from 70 mph to over 100 mph, just as it was coming up on that curve. The train engineer doesn't remember anything (lucky to be alive), and has hired a lawyer (let's just hope that lawyer honestly represents his client.)

    However, all the controls of such trains are electronic, except for the brake. So ... I am left wondering ... was someone else controlling that train's speed just then?

    My three sources for the above:

    From Train sped up before Frankford curve (Philly.com):

    =======
    In the seconds before Amtrak train No. 188 derailed at Frankford Junction, the train's speed surged from 70 m.p.h. to 102 m.p.h. - more than twice the speed limit on the dangerous curve, the National Transportation Safety Board announced Thursday.

    Just before the crash, with the train traveling at 106 m.p.h., the train's engineer, Brandon Bostian, hit his emergency brakes, NTSB officials said. But it was too late.
    =======

    From Philadelphia train may have been hit by projectile before wreck (Reuters):

    =======
    ...

    But the Amtrak engineer said he had no memory of anything that happened in the moments leading up to the crash ...

    An assistant conductor told NTSB investigators on Friday that she heard the engineer, 32-year-old Brandon Bostion, talking by radio with the driver of another train from the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA). ...

    Sumwalt said investigators still have no explanation for why the train was going as fast as it was, and why it had accelerated from 70 mph to 100-plus mph in the 65 seconds before the crash, as was shown on video footage taken by a camera mounted on the locomotive. ...

    Bostion, who has spoken with investigators with his lawyer present and was cooperative, told them he had no recollection of doing that, or of anything else from the time the train had departed from its previous stop.
    =======

    From The Engineer's View (Philly.com):

    =======

    A look at the controls and gauges inside a typical train cab.

    The engineer's control position -- The engineer can keep an eye on everything going on in the train here. All of the controls, except the brake, are digital.

    Automatic brake -- Red lever applies brake to the entire train and is the only analog control in the cab. It is tied directly to the airbrakes.

    Here's an interesting graphic, from the NYTimes, showing the varying speeds of Amtrak #188, leading up to its derailment in Philadelphia.
    The width of the light orange band shows the typical speeds of Amtrak passenger trains at that point in the track.

    The length of the red lines marked on that band show the recorded speed of Amtrak #188, the day of the derailment

    Amtrak #188 was traveling at typical speeds (red lines just span width of light orange band) up until just before the Frankford Junction. But then it sped up from 94 mph to 106 mph, instead of slowing down from 94 mph to a more typical 50 or 60 mph for Frankford Junction curve. The speed limit in that curve is 50 mph ... I don't know if trains, like cars, tend to be run a little fast of the posted limit when they're running behind schedule.

    Here's another aerial view of that Frankford Junction curve:

    The orange line to the right is the engine, laying across the tracks that apparently the oil tankers were on.

    The small orange upside-down "V" shaped line is the first passenger car - it was seriously trashed, as can be seen from this aerial (the twisted pile of metal in the middle of the image):

    ~~~
    So -- one theory I have as to what happened that seems consistent with the above:
    "They" manipulated the brain of the engineer, 32-year-old Brandon Bostion to suppress his normal reactions, and they took remote electronic control of the throttle, to speed the train up going into that curve, intending that it derail and hit the oil tankers they had parked on another track, along the outside of the curve.
    However Brandon Bostion gained sufficient control of his capacities to throw the "big red brake handle", that directly applies the brakes on all cars, without electronic control involved. This caused the derailed run-away locomotive to miss the oil tankers by a few hundred yards.
    Perhaps whatever (if anything) hit the windshield provided a way to distract the engineer and to better track his mental state. If any "black boxes" were involved in the electronic override of the locomotive's controls, I am 100% confident that no federal agency will be informing me of those details.
    Thank you Paul for investigating that angle!
    It sure is disturbing, how close they allegedly came to that tanker train.
    They say crude oil is a lot more volatile than refined petroleum products --
    it shouldn't be anywhere near "people carriers"!
    TPTB must not think commoners are worth very much!
    p.s. was anyone thinking about high tech elevators and their speed regulators this week? apparently some controversy exists regarding computerized safety features.
    I'd love to see a breakdown of the GE parts and how they work/fail
    the 'mind control' angle works too,
    also it fits with a 'blackout' or 'possession' as the engineer claims to remember nothing... weird huh?
    i'd say it's pretty easy to render a human unconscious with the same technology that can override or fry electronics from a distance.
    Recall that just two weeks ago, Jeff Rense was 'blanked out' (brain shut off like a switch) at the most dangerous possible spot on his road, on his way to work.
    The accident that totaled his Toyota truck, should have killed him, according to those (professionals who deal with accidents) who saw the place where it occurred, and the wreck itself.
    Shutting people off, at a minimum, is something that does indeed exist, electronic hardware wise. (Just a note for the casual reader)
    Anarchist Group Deletes Article Bragging About April Train Track Sabotage Near Monday Derailment -- ZeroHedge.com
    Quote An anarchist group associated with Antifa has deleted an April article bragging about pouring concrete onto railroad tracks in Olympia, WA in an attempt to stop the transportation of fracking equipment over the BNSF railway. The April sabotage by the Puget Sound Anarchists was part of a long-standing protest which included a November raid of an anti-fracking encampment which had been blocking railroad tracks for over a week.
    On Monday, an Amtrak passenger train on its inaugural run between Seattle and Portland on brand new BNSF railway tracks derailed near DuPont, Washington sometime before 7:45 a.m., leaving three dead and 77 hospitalized. While the cause is unclear, an unconfirmed report states that train #501 struck an object while traveling at 81 mph, right before a 30mph zone - sending the train careening off a bridge and onto a packed Washington highway full of morning commuters.
    The now-deleted post by the Puget Sound Anarchists bragging about the sabotage of BNSF railway tracks using concreate was posted to anarchist website "It's Going Down" on April 20th, and removed sometime after August 25th - as noted by watchdog organization Far Left Watch.
    Earlier this year, a prominent #Antifa website published an article tacking credit for the sabotage of train tracks in Olympia, WA. In this article they claimed to have poured concrete on the tracks. It has since been deleted. #Amtrak
    Early in the morning of April 20th we poured concrete on the train tracks that lead out of the Port of Olympia to block any trains from using the tracks. We took precautions to notify BNSF (the train company) – we called them and we used wires to send a signal that the tracks were blocked. We did this not to avoid damaging a train, nothing would bring bigger grins to our faces, but to avoid the risk of injuring railway workers.
    This action was done to disrupt the movement of trains carrying proppants used in natural gas fracturing. These train tracks are part of a system of pipelines, fracking wells, mines, clearcuts, control centers, fiberoptics, dams, highways and factories that cover the planet and are physical manifestations of a process that is destroying the ecosystems, cultures, and inhabitants everywhere. Behind this network of infrastructure there are politicians, CEOs and bureaucrats who have private security, cops, prison guards, non-profit directors, PR consultants and the legacy of 500 years of colonization to back them up. We oppose all of these manifestations, infrastructural, personal and ideological. We blocked the train tracks because we want to blockade the entire web of domination that is slowly killing us.
    The same group, Puget Sound Anarchists, made another post 10 days ago bragging about train-track sabotage in which they "attached wire and jumper cables to the main Union Pacific rail line running through the state of Nebraska to disrupt rail signals and delay trains that mainly carry coal from the mountainous west to population centers in the east. Inspriation for us came from the blockade in Olympia."
    While there is no evidence to suggest that the anarchist protesters were involved in yesterday's disaster, the distance between their sabotage of railway tracks with concrete is less than 20 minutes away from the derailment.
