GATTACA rising: Corporations begin genetic testing of employees

‘In the 1997 science fiction film GATTACA, society is dominated by a system of
eugenics, where potential children are conceived through genetic manipulation. The
main character, Vincent Freeman, is conceived outside the eugenics system and fights
to overcome genetic discrimination in a society that engineers humans to possess the
best hereditary traits of their parents.

Nearly 20 years after the film debuted, corporations today are starting to head in the
same direction as GATTACA. Eugenics programs could be the way of the future as
employers start separating acceptable employees from genetic “invalids” using new
    genetic testing procedures.

In fact, corporations are looking to new genetic testing programs to see if they can
predict the probability of disease in future employees. The technology is said to help
companies avoid hiring employees who take extra sick time and is supposed to help the
companies cut down health expenses altogether.’

Alternatively, the technology could be used to predict when an employee is diagnosed
with heart disease or diabetes before the conditions develop. In this way, wellness
programs can be adapted to help companies coach employees into nutrition and
exercise prevention strategies before the conditions show up.

Important questions concerning the validity and ethics of genetic testing However well
intentioned, could these genetic testing programs actually be the beginning of eugenics
programs where valid human workers are separated from "invalids" as seen in the
    movie GATTACA?

Is genetic testing even a legitimate model for predicting metabolic conditions like
diabetes and heart disease anyway? Since genes are influenced by so many
environmental factors throughout one's life, how can one's DNA at birth or at any time
during their life be the ultimate deciding factor for their disease risk factor the rest of
    their life?

Shouldn't wellness programs look at environmental exposures and employee habits
before they rely on genetic testing as the excuse for the health problems? How can we
rely on the validity and wherewithal of genetic testing alone if the average infant's
genes are influenced by multiple injections of toxins like mercury preservative and
    aluminum adjuvant from vaccines?

If the study of epigenetics shows that these toxic elements influence a person's DNA,
then how can we blame heredity on any kind of disease that shows up in a person's life?

Six large companies about to begin genetic testing of employees Genetic testing of
employees has other hurdles to cross as well. Will employees want to share sensitive
heredity and health information with their employer? Everyone has a right to their own
privacy. Will privacy be neglected as medical research prepares the population for soft
    core eugenics programs?

Health insurer Aetna and Newtopia from Canada are already taking strides to create
personalized health improvement programs that require physicals and blood tests to
determine an employee's risk for certain metabolic syndromes. While the programs aim
to eliminate heart disease, stroke and diabetes, they are now incorporating genetic
testing into the mix. The tests attempt to analyze bands of genes that may express an
employee's likelihood to eat compulsively or whether their body is able to process
    carbohydrates or fats.

Is genetic testing useful and helpful for individuals or is it just a way to micromanage
who is worthy to work in a perfect society and who is not fit or "invalid?"

Aetna and Newtopia are going forward with their program and selling it to their six
biggest customers who employ the most people. It was tried out on employees for the
first time at the Aetna and The Jackson Laboratory, a company in Maine. One of the first
patients was a 335-pound, 53-year-old male maintenance worker whose blood pressure
and blood sugar levels had recently shot up.After looking to the genetic testing
for answers, none were found. No connections were made. The failed genetic testing
only proved what we already know - that metabolic conditions like diabetes and heart
disease can be turned around with discipline in nutrition and exercise.

For the most part, genetic testing of employees will prove to be a waste of resources, as
it doesn't get to the heart of metabolic diseases. For now, genetic testing only serves as
a precursor to a eugenics society as seen in GATTACA.

Scientists Find Alarming Deterioration In DNA Of The Urban Poor

Sunday 10th May 2015 at 07:46 By David Icke

‘The urban poor in the United States are experiencing accelerated aging at the cellular
level, and chronic stress linked both to income level and racial-ethnic identity is driving
    this physiological deterioration.

These are among the findings published this week by a group of prominent biologists
and social researchers, including a Nobel laureate. Dr. Arline Geronimus, a visiting
scholar at the Stanford Center for Advanced Study and the lead author of the study,
described it as the most rigorous research of its kind examining how “structurally rooted
social processes work through biological mechanisms to impact health.”‘

Preservatives, biocides, fungicides, all the same, all cell and biodiversity killers.

Killers of gut bacteria, bacteria that keep people healthy, keeps their cognitive capacities up..and also keeps their gene expression strong.

Thus, urban poor are at the highest level of risk, within the developed world. It is strongly tied to their diet, tied to the food they eat.

Basically, any preservative in food, any preservative (the vast majority of preservatives are either a biocide or fungicide, ie 'life killers') of any kind.........it kills you, it breaks you down... By destroying the gut function in the human.

No microwaves, no preservatives, fresh food only. Then the issue of pollution and environment.

This isn't happening in places like china, as they have the fresh food thing going on, not as much as before, but they did and still do have a fresh food delivery system for their major cities, as this is how the populations have always eaten.

They are not suffering the decline that the western urban poor are dealing with.

Thanks innocent warrior for the last min , I watched it late last night and
was very tired by the end and thought it was cut short , but I was not sure
by how much. Like you I had not seen it before and when I saw the article
I was looking for the tlr to post with it , then I noticed the full movie and
it is a thought provoking piece looking into a possible near future.

As I'm often saying and many others feel the same I expect. Sci -fy
thought ,imagination , reason , desire and more drives reality , science
etc. Basically the two sides of the brain are the 'ying and Yang ' of the
maitrix we live in. Or something profound like that...LOL.

All I know is the more we find out the less we know to quote an old
song, which is fun and is part of why we 'desend' or experience this
physical reality for contrast as in our immortal physical state of
bliss we manifest everything into existence apparently.

Economist: Ban Cash and Force Everyone to Have a Government-Controlled Bank Account

new Thursday 14th May 2015 at 08:39 By David Icke

‘A former Bank of England economist has called for a total ban on cash and its replacement
with credit accounts controlled directly by governments. In a column for the London Telegraph,
fund manager Jim Leaviss all but advocates economic fascism as a means of enabling
authorities to respond to financial crises better by implementing a “cashless society.”

“Forcing everyone to spend only by electronic means from an account held at a government-run
bank would give the authorities far better tools to deal with recessions and economic booms,”
states the introduction to Leaviss’ article.

If you think that sounds authoritarian enough, it gets worse. Leaviss then suggests that your hard
earned money be “monitored, or even directly controlled by the government,” with authorities then
working to “encourage us to spend more when the economy slows, or spend less when it is overheating.”’

According to Martin Armstrong of financial advisory firm Armstrong Economics, the
compulsory savings tax to be implemented by the continent Down Under is part of
what he and others have described as the "new age of Economic Totalitarianism."

"Australia will be the first to introduce a compulsory tax on savings. This is the

In many respects we are already in the 'dystopian future' The US police forces have
daily stories about abuse and corrupt officers.Sure this has always gone on , but it
seems to have 'rampt' up highlighted by advances in communication as the article
above suggested and like everything used responsibly can be used for good and
    benefit society.

The training and calibre of officer seems to be affected by the 'War on Terror'
meme , and harks back to the 'Reds under the Beds ' scare and America has always
been a violent scary place. But also beautiful and progressive in many areas and
conservative in others . The 'Ying and Yang ' of the post imperial nations , when the
13 states left their parents home. Which seems to have been gone full circle as
America has become an imperial super power by default or design depending on
your view. Anyway that's straying, and from these article posted today , and similar
ones every day something feels wrong. ===================================================

School District Arrests Kids For Throwing Skittles

new Thursday 14th May 2015 at 07:48 By David Icke

‘Earlier this year, an eighth-grader in Louisiana was riding the bus home after
school when he and several other students started throwing Skittles at each
other. The bus driver asked the kids to knock it off and continued making
stops—he didn’t say another word about the Skittles.

The following day, as the boy was taking a social studies test, a police officer
assigned to the school handcuffed him, dragged him out of class and arrested
him. He was charged with “interference with an educational facility” and battery.

As the officer led the handcuffed teenager out of the school, both students and
faculty heard him threaten to “beat the f*** out of [the boy],” or to have his
son, who is about the same age, do it for him. The student, who is African-American,
spent six days in a juvenile detention facility before seeing a judge, whose first
comment was: “Am I to get this right? Are we really here about Skittles?”’

The Tories are planning to change our 'tolerant society'

‘Obeying the law will no longer be enough to guarantee you are able

David Cameron is set to announce a string of new powers that are

Mr Cameron has made the abolition of Labour’s 1998 legislation a key part of his 100-day policy
offensive and the measure is expected to be included in the Queen’s Speech later this month.

But the Prime Minister is already facing a revolt from a growing number of his backbenchers over
the proposals with a former aide to the new Justice Secretary Michael Gove warning that they
have less than a 5 per cent chance of being implemented.’

Minority Report: Your Iris Can Now Be Scanned From Across the Room

‘Biometrics has been coming for a long time, but as it is starting to be adopted everywhere,
superficially for consumer verification and security purposes, the envelope is getting pushed
as more invasive techniques are being developed and put in the hands of government, law
    enforcement agencies, and corporations.

Now someone has invented “long range” iris scans. In other words, they can literally scan your iris and identify you from across the room.’

Problem reaction solution, we create the extremists then try to curb
freedom of speech. When we already have plenty of laws to stop
    any form of extremism.

Canadian Information Commissioner warns Tory bill gives government power to
    cover-up own crimes

Sunday 17th May 2015 at 11:23 By David Icke

‘An unprecedented Conservative bid to rewrite the law in order to retroactively
erase the RCMP’s mishandling of gun registry records sets the table for legislated,
after-the-fact cover-ups of far more serious crimes, Canada’s information
    commissioner declared Thursday.

In a damning new report tabled in Parliament, Suzanne Legault concluded that the
practice establishes a “perilous precedent” of rewriting laws — one that could
jeopardize the ability of authorities to prosecute electoral fraud or other
    government scandals.

Legault recommended almost two months ago that charges be laid against the
RCMP for its role in withholding and destroying gun registry data.

But instead of Justice Minister Peter MacKay moving on the recommendation to lay
charges, the Harper government rewrote the law, backdated the changes and
buried the amendment in an omnibus budget bill.’

Greatest Threat to Free Speech Comes Not From Terrorism, But From Those Claiming to Fight It

Sunday 17th May 2015 at 11:20 By David Icke

‘We learned recently from Paris that the Western world is deeply and passionately
committed to free expression and ready to march and fight against attempts to
suppress it. That’s a really good thing, since there are all sorts of severe
suppression efforts underway in the West — perpetrated not by The Terrorists but
by the Western politicians claiming to fight them.

One of the most alarming examples comes, not at all surprisingly, from the U.K.
government, which is currently agitating for new counterterrorism
powers, “including plans for extremism disruption orders designed to restrict those
trying to radicalize young people.” Here are the powers which the British Freedom
Fighters and Democracy Protectors are seeking:

They would include a ban on broadcasting and a requirement to submit to the
police in advance any proposed publication on the web and social media or in print.
The bill will also contain plans for banning orders for extremist organisations which
seek to undermine democracy or use hate speech in public places, but it will fall
short of banning on the grounds of provoking hatred.’

Police warn big budget cuts will lead to ‘paramilitary’ force

Police warn big budget cuts will lead to 'paramilitary' force

Steve White, chair of the Police Federation, says service is ‘on its knees’, and
predicts end of policing by consent and move towards more violent style.

‘Police will be forced to adopt a “paramilitary” style of enforcement if the government
inflicts big budget cuts on them, the head of the police officers’ organisation has warned.

Steve White, chair of the Police Federation, said his 123,000 members, from police
constables to inspectors, fear a move towards a more violent style of policing as
they try to keep law and order with even fewer officers than now.

White told the Guardian that more cuts would be devastating: “You get a style of
policing where the first options are teargas, rubber bullets and water cannon,
which are the last options in the UK.”’

Ex-Number 10 strategist warns of a crisis in Britain's political system
Calls on Cameron to do more for the poor and listen less to the rich
Says government is more likely to pay attention to concerns of wealthy

‘David Cameron’s former chief strategist has launched a stinging
attack on the ‘insular ruling class’ threatening Britain’s democracy.

Steve Hilton said too many of those at the heart of government go
to the same dinner parties and send their children to the same schools.

He said the UK’s political system is now in ‘crisis’ because the same
type of people stay in charge whatever the outcome of the elections.

In what will be seen as a criticism of the ‘chumocracy’ of his former
boss, Mr Hilton warned: ‘Our democracies are increasingly captured
by a ruling class that seeks to perpetuate its privileges.
‘Regardless of who’s in office, the same people are in power.’

What Amazon.com Taught the Cops – The Tech-Fueled Rise of Predictive Policing

new Wednesday 10th June 2015 at 06:13 By ickonic

‘The future of policing, it seems, will look a lot like the present of policing, just faster and with more math.
Instead of using inherent bias and simplistic statistics to racially profile individuals on a street, cops of the
future will be able to use complicated statistics to racially profile people in their homes.

In the summer of 2013, for instance, the Chicago Police Department implemented a pilot program intended
to reduce violent crime. It used an algorithm developed by an engineer at the Illinois Institute of Technology
to generate a “heat list” of roughly 400 people who were most likely to become perpetrators or victims of violence.

Cops tracked down some of these individuals, showed up at their homes, and warned them they were being
watched. Similar programs using technology have been tested in recent years, all under the rubric of what’s
    been called “predictive policing.”’
