Wink The crafting and hand making zone

I decided to create this thread for all the AVALON crafters and artists .....
    You like making stuff ?
    Show us your creations here:

You like art, colors, life, spiritual crafting, music, fun, jewels, dreams, feathers and gifts ?

You like working with your hands, journaling, scrap-booking, building stuff, painting, decorating, sculpting, making jewels, writing ?

This is not a selling platform but if interested by something you can PM the member and make arrangements with him.

We can exchange ideas, techniques, marketing ideas.

As for me I recycle and make jewels and I also make portable meditation boxes. I organize events in schools to sell my jewels at a low price. I collect all the broken or outdated jewels, I repair them or make new ones with the pieces I have collected. I sell them in garage sales or schools at a very low price. Recycling and give the opportunity to the less fortunate to buy themselves a beautiful jewel at a lower price.

    Portable meditation boxes

I also make those personalize portable meditation boxes so you can meditate every were you go. Home, in an hotel room, at a friends house, on the beach, in the train, in the wild ect... Each boxes comes with an handwriting poem or thought I had thinking about you and the purpose of your meditation box.

    Some of my jewels:

    Lovely work. Nat_Lee.
I used to knit, then got into jewelry making after moved to the hot zone.

My Barbados work is more glamorous with lots of pearls and crystals, than my Costa Rica work,
    which is rather rustic.

Dear Nat-lee, I write books, burn images into wood, make glass pendants and create T-shirt logos, I find being creative helps shut out the sounds in my head that tell me I am no worthy. Its great to be creative and to make your dreams and thoughts become real in front of you. I was attacked by two teachers when I was 11 and 13 years old and they took away my trust and self worth. Being creative goes a long way to bringing back some of those things at 54. Let everything you love, be everything you do. Yours faithfully Glenn in Australia.

I don't have a photo to show of what I created for my wife, (girlfriend at the time) because it doesn't exist now, but can I tell a small story about it? I can? Oh goody, thanks.

When Martha came up from San Diego to visit me in Northern Calif I was living in a cottage where you had to go out the back door, down a few steps, and then back up steps to the small shower room. There was a large window looking out onto the fenced garden but no window coverings.....rather exposed, but for just me it was fine, you know, like who cares? But that just wouldn't do with her visiting to be exposed like that so what to do? I was really broke at the time but scrounged around a local thrift shop and came up with a pretty turquoise and white fabric. But with no sewing machine chez-moi I had only a hot glue gun so I started in measuring, cutting, and folding the seems over and glueing, then the hem at the top and bottom. Soon I had it finished and threaded it through the bar thingy it hangs from at the top of the window. I took care to keep it all neat and even 'cause, well, I like it that way.

She came to stay with me for a while and just loved the curtains. Now that we've been married for 15 years she often (far too often for my comfort) tells her girlfriends this story and they seem to really like it. I thought, at the time, it was just a practical solution to a small problem but now I know it was more than that.

My creative thing's no longer around but then it is. Some stuff we create has more effect than we realize. Hope this post is not too abstract for the thread.

    @ Violet,

Thanks! Alas, the curtain has gone to the great recycler in the sky these many years ago. However, memories are made of these things and as I'm sure the contributors to this thread can attest, just the thought of a crafted item (whether or not it's still in the physical) can bring a wave of warmth splashing over the heart.

I designed and wove this shawl a number of years ago. It is woven of 100% Peruvian alpaca, in natural colors. I wove it on an 8-shaft, 10-treadle, 46 inch Schacht high-castle floor loom.

    Attachment 30852

I don't have my loom anymore, though.
