    Wink Art washes away from the Soul the Dust of everyday Life...

    Hello Avalonians,

    I just joined this forum and would love to hear from artists and creative people. Please share your work and let us know what you do creatively.

    I will make a start. I love to create paintings that cross the boundaries of what we commonly see or perceive as mutually shared reality or dimensions.

    Welcome, Wild Orchid.
    Those interested in beauty, especially the creating of it, are wonderful to be around and converse with. I hope to hear more from you, and soon!

    Beautiful art work! ART takes me elsewhere for sure...it is just plain magical when one is creating!

    I love mosaic designs on mirrors and furniture...i have learned alot from art tht consists of geometric designs throughout like anything can be made from triangles! It's different but I love this medium
    unfortunately my laptop broken but I have pics posted in the abyss of threads gone by lol and believe I started a thread about art as well...on my profile page....need to dust tht thread off lol :-)

    Here's a little painting a 1-year-and-11-month-old child did this week. Every paint brush stroke is hers, and she chose the colours. I'd like to add it to this thread. She was a FAST painter - I could barely keep control of the pourable acrylic paints she was opening and pouring out... Her canvas was a piece of cardboard.

    @WildOrchid

    Hi!- heartily welcome to the forum-

    as I am personally involved in the arts (am an opera-singer by profession) I feel qualified to comment on this topic as this topic is near and dear to my heart/soul;

    obviously there are still enclaves and individuals (such as yourself) on this planet who are still trying to create beauty on this planet but they are becoming rarer by the day;

    as we all know, art in all of its forms has reflected the mentality of an era; so now viewing the disasterous political arena that has been with us for so long now, is it any wonder that we are living in a cultural ROT that is reflected by the present-day art presented to us by those controlling the music/theater/dance/painting industry (and an industry it is) being thrown into our faces?-

    as far as painting goes, just as one small example, no-one can convince me that Keith Harring's works are a work of "genius"; his work is on the level of a 3rd/4th grader being sold at high prices on the market- to this we've come-

    and I guess I shouldn't get started on the cultural rot of music since the 12-tone system was introduced otherwise I could write for hours....

    anyway, WildOrchid and all readers, please stay well-

    Larry

    Nice work... that's great that you're encouraging her to start early in the 'arts'. If she keeps 'practicing' regularly, developing her own style... I wonder what her stuff will look like when she's 5. Does she also work with other mediums?

    Yes, another favorite canvas is her skin. Her mom adds food colouring to yoghurt and she paints in the bathtub all the time...no pics of that, just this on kitchen table.

    Default Poem for today ---- Walk from Your World

    While it is very important that we stay open, alert, awake and perceptive for all that is going on in our present world (and other worlds), it is vital that we inspire each other to be creative and no go effect of all the bad stuff we get hit with on a regular basis. In that sense I will share a great, uplifting poem my husband wrote a while ago.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Walk from Your World

    Walk from your world not from others.
    Walk your own pace, keep your own stride.
    Fear not if others will approve.
    Wear the security of your universe with confidence.

    The power you create is the loyalty to yourself.
    Fear not your doing of deeds.
    Depowering comes when you can't trust your own game.
    Trust yourself, others will too.

    What is the real universe?
    Yours, everyone else's or the hard dirt with rocks jutting,
    Do you slow or not communicate because you may get hurt?
    Is the power of the ten thousand foot cliff more powerful than the idea of it?
    Think about it.

    When you go in a room are you afraid to reach to everyone there?
    Why? If you can reach to everyone there than that is what you are doing.
    The illusion of everyone accepting you is Yours. Or not.
    When you walk the hard ground who is perceiving that space and time?

    Feel the power of your own space and universe.
    If you don't who else will?
    Life is looking, life is deciding, life is creating.
    Do it.

    To go into agreement is the trap one is trying to get out of.
    Agree with yourself and your dreams.
    If your viewpoint of self is less than it should be,
    so goes life for hardly any fee.

    Walk your own walk and talk your own talk.
    You think others won't approve, only if that's your thought.
    Life is interesting when you make it so.
    If you wish to be a leaf make sure you tell the wind to blow.
    Walk from your world all the power you need is right there.
    God would want you to do it that way.
    So do not balk

    Hello Cardillac,

    Nice to meet you and thank you for responding. I absolutely agree. art, creativity and aesthetics in it's many forms counteracts the fear and panic that is being put out by the media constantly.
    Why don't you share with us some samples of your songs and music.
