Beware. It does show your IP address below on this page though, so you might want a spoof address. I used TOR
There is a constant transmission of signal on about two discernible frequencies when I open the page , 144 800 Hz is most prominent and 14 700 Hz another type of signal.

    Check for yourself .

Don't forget we will be receiving downstream of data from the New Horizons spacecraft
over next year or two and there're other such technical downloads happening as well.

Agreed, a big vote for hoax. Emotion and feelings are transmitted through writing and in this case I agree that whoever wrote this was having some fun. "That I am getting close to the truth" does not sound like actual language that would be used by any officer if they were trying to obtain information and silence anyone who had 'the truth'. The fact that the person admits to hacking government computers and tells the audience they "may" skip town is just not something one would convey in a message like this. Too many details in the wrong places.

I agree 100%. What appealed to me here was that Avalon has a known community of Hams (do see this section, Amateur Radio), and there's an opportunity for us to all troubleshoot and analyze an interesting little problem together. I'll keep the thread open, unless anyone disagrees.

It has been a while since I listened for the ISS. I have heard them. I'll listen for them.

You are right Bill, communication on 2 meters would not be used for secure transmissions. There are many thousands of radios all over the world that are designed for the 2 meter frequency band. Some only cost around $26, brand new. The instructions for programming the UV-5R are not the best but a search of Youtube for instructions can be very helpful. Programming the radio with a computer is the easiest way to go but one needs to purchase a cable to do so.

An amateur radio license is not required for listening.

Smells like a hoax to me. I don't think any sensitive information would be broadcasted on a non secure radio channel in the first place. A radio receiver doesn't have any way to be traced either, so how could anyone know he was monitoring these transmissions. There is also a very small window of opportunity to receive any transmissions since the station comes into range and goes out of range rather quickly. Why would he admit to hacking government computers either? I call BS.

Yes. Almost certainly a hoax, but interesting that amateur radio frequencies are mentioned.

Agreed, 145.8 MHz (FM presumably, but that's not stated - which is slightly odd), but it's not a frequency used for routine ISS communications. It's specifically for ISS amateur radio use.

I suspect the author is a radio ham, or at least someone who did some proper research into frequencies the public can easily receive with basic ham radio gear.

Any voice communication on 'contentious' matters would be digital not analogue. It would be transmitted on unpublished frequencies and/or almost certainly be securely encoded!

And in any case, the ISS is only at an altitude of between about 300 to 400 km and easily visible with the naked eye. Any 'scout ships' (unless extremely small) buzzing the ISS would have been clearly spotted by numerous amateur astronomers world-wide watching it through a telescope.

I've heard eerie sounds late at night , last 2 or 3 days . They were more less like the sounds from the movie 'Wavelengths' , at least that's what they reminded me of .
I thought someone is playing pranks .. but could not guess what sort of instrument are they using .

But there were no regular intervals to the sounds i could observe , occurred some time between midnight and late to 2 am .

On Wednesday they were fairly loud and more frequent but yesterday they repeated only about 2 times . I still suppose someone is doing it .. but will try to record the sound next time it occurs.

Interestingly Japan have sent a rocket this week should arrive Monday I believe...

Onboard is a Cosmic Ray Dectector?

I cannot say if a hoax or not but I had that guy on my faceboook & had quite a few weird issues with it until I removed him.

Hässleholm, Sweden, Local time Thursday 2015-08-20 about 20:30 in the evening I spotted a proportionally thin and perfectly straight black/dark grey line in the sky, far off and fairly high up, maybe as high as 3000 meters, initially it didn't appear to move in any direction.

As I watched it carefully it soon began sliding horizontally across the sky in a horizontal position at an approximate distance of maybe 10 kilometer, it seemed to move significantly faster than any airplane would do at that altitude and distance.

My guess is that it traveled about 10 kilometers in a straight horizontal path within a timeframe of 20-30 seconds, then it began to descend in a 45° angle, all very quick, smooth and precise - maintaining its horizontal position all along.

Eventually the object escaped my field of view.

I believe I've just witnessed my first cigar-shaped ufo irl, which actually must have been huge in size.

There may be a more appropriate place to share this, but in regard to Gray Ian Al's claims of scout ships in earths atmosphere, I reckon this could be of value right here.

Unfortunately I was totally unprepared and had no chance to record any video.

There is a youtube video that fit my description rather well:

Make of it what you want.

Just coincidence, but I've ordered a Baofeng BF F9 V2+ 2 weeks ago. It's Chinese and the latest version of that
UV3, UV5 series. It arrived yesterday, checking it out now. This one has 8 watts of power output and is capable
of splitting send and receive frequencies. (It's dual band even ... 2m + 70 cm !) Would be nice to see if even this
little rig makes it over the transponder when it is directly overhead. Low power (QRP) might not be sufficient
however and signal is easily lost in the usually busy line-up. The BF F9 V2+ costs +/- US$ 50

Please keep in mind that although you don't need a license to listen that it is illegal in a lot of countries to posses
a radio that is also capable of transmitting.

This video explains a little bit about HAM radio and specifics of HAM radio on board of the ISS:

This video shows how easy it is to receive the ISS on a low cost device (Baofeng UV3):

And there are many many youtube videos of schools contacting the ISS via HAM radio.
Just search with "contact iss school"

ISS 145.800 mhz list on Youtube

Be aware that they may change the frequency soon with this new public info or rather old public info, but i am still trying to find vid that actually has ISS talking about ufo's.

NASA will never use amateur radio to communicate sensitive information (on purpose).
The use of amateur radio in the ISS is most likely for education and publicity.

The other part of the message though: 'mothership' and crafts.
So while knowledge about the radio rather says 'hoax' - whats with the mothership and crafts?

They can cloak, distort - so it isn't always obvious to the eye. Just saying.

The 3rd part doesn't seem reasonable. To explain out of the blue not allowed activity. On facebook. Is there even encryption possible on FB?
However getting stuff (not only from the account) and/or taking over an account is possible and happened to people.
Which also could have happened to this account and now its used for other reasons...
..and mentioning the stuff can just be (used) to think 'oh like anonymous' or Mr. Robot (tv series)...

    Just guessing...
    It's rather strange though.

For more information about contacting or listening to the ISS: Link

Some ISS crew members make random, unscheduled, amateur radio voice contacts with earth-bound radio amateurs, often called "hams". They can make radio contacts during their breaks, pre-sleep time and before and after mealtime. Astronauts have contacted thousands of hams around the world. The work schedules of the ISS crew dictate when they are able to operate the radios. The crew's usual waking period is 0730 - 1930 UTC. The most common times to find a crew member making casual periods are about one hour after waking and before sleeping, when they have personal time. They're usually free most of the weekend, as well. (The current crew work schedule is published on the NASA website.) More

Default Re: To Avalon Ham Radio operators: the ISS is [not] reporting craft activity on 145.8 MHz

Quote And in any case, the ISS is only at an altitude of between about 300 to 400 km and easily visible with the naked eye. Any 'scout ships' (unless extremely small) buzzing the ISS would have been clearly spotted by numerous amateur astronomers world-wide watching it through a telescope
    .

And anyone who spot those scout ships would most likely believe or be convinced to believe that they are satellites.
And those who believe other wise would be hotly debated no doubt.
