    Default Fugitives/Refugees coming to Europe

Just want to direct attention to the alarming situation with fugtifs drowning in the Mediterranean and suffocating in trucks while fleeing from the wars in the Middle East. At the moment Sweden and Germany recieve the largest number but slowly the other European countries are being urged to take their responability and French president Hollande has stepped up to the plate.

The Nazis hiding within the Swedish Democrats Party take advantage of the situation by putting weak groups like poor pensionists, single mothers and the social security systems that are being dismanteled against those who are fleeing for their lives and is now the 3:rd biggest party in Sweden. Also because the other parties have not dealt with the question and which they now are forced to.

The government also have refused to negociate with the Swedish Democrats which has put them in the situation of the bullied victim which increases pples sympathy for them and pple vote for them not realizing their hidden agenda. Those forces are growing in Europe at high speed.

On the other hand 2 days in a row 2 persons have called a radioprogram where pple can give their opinion and pointed to the fact that some 80 persons are ruling the world economy and explained the pyramid/fiat/debt system, which has never happened before! They were even surprised they were let in, one guy had been working 40 years in the banking system and has written several books that of couse were not edited by the Bonniers and other controlled publishers. Thing is most pple don't connect the dots, as Avalonians know is still the working Machiavellian mechanism: "Divide and Rule".

As soon as you put on the radio or TV in Sweden this is what is constantly being discussed and reported on and I sometimes feel like living on another planet from pple on this forum.

It indeed has become a difficult situation. Those third world countries have become so destabilized due to many reasons such as climate change, wars etc. (big thanks goes to US and Russia) that poor people are fleeing to Europe. Other option for them is to die, or just die by trying. People in Europe have started to despise the politicians even more and racism has raised it's ugly head meanwhile extreme right wing groups have started to garner power and attention in many countries, which is alarming. Something should be done to the situation, humanely.

Default Re: Fugitives/Refugees coming to Europe

This thread is about the massive exodus of refugees towards the European continent which reached a record high this summer. Most of the refugees are from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan but there are also black refugees from various drought and war striken African countries.

I will be posting updates on the subject here. Feel free to join if you have related information of interest.

There may be article sources in French, Dutch and other languages besides English. No worries, you can easily run them through machine translation which, though not generating a perfect rendition, will give you a general idea.

Ok, let's start with what I have so far (in non-chronological order):

    - The Dutch cabinet asks its municipalities to make available more shelter places for refugees: http://www.elsevier.nl/Nederland/ach...ngen-2677509W/

    - Belgium asks the (smaller) municipalities to contribute more in the distribution of refugees in shelter centers. The trend is metropoles housing the largest number, but one mayor of such a metropole has already stated that his city can't take more refugees and that smaller municipalities located on the outskirts must also help. By October Belgium hopes to see its shelters risen from 16.200 to 28.173: http://www.standaard.be/cnt/dmf20150828_01838132

    - 71 (poss. Syrian) refugees found dead by asphyxation in cooling truck left behind for 24h on Vienna (Austria) highway: http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/...0QW19H20150827

    - Eastern Germany not happy with Merkel's helpful hand in refugee crisis calling her a traitor and burning refugee shelters: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...w-attacks.html

    - 4 out of 5 Flemish think the country's limit for refugees has been reached, 1/5 thinks there's still some space left: http://www.hln.be/hln/nl/957/Binnenl...e-vangen.dhtml

    - 200 live, 200 die in new boat drama by Libyan coast. "At least one victim, a man, was wearing a life vest. ": http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/migrant...ibya-1.3206760

    - Slovakia opts out of European help operation saying unfortunately it doesn't have enough mosques: http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/...European-Union

    - Rows at Belgian Foreign Affairs office keep growing. Services distribute leaflets with instructions for asylum seekers...in Dutch: http://www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf20150825_01832955

    - And finishing with a column from http://www.sunnation.co.uk/we-didnt-...shing-the-job/

My heart goes out to all the refugees and migrants just trying to stay alive. I don't understand it all, but I do know these people do not deserve to be treated like this.

Also now is discussed on radio if increasing control tapping mobiles etc. to try stop trerrorist attacks in Sweden due to the radicalization of frustrated muslims in suburbs going to Syria to fight, will threaten the integrity of pple...Sweden surely deserves the title of the 51:th state of the US....

Will legislation solve this problem. obviously not.

Our former conservative finance minister Anders Borg (they called themselves the New Workingclass Party just said: "The US starts the wars and Sweden recieves the fugitives" and Reinfeldt the former leader of the party said before the Socialdemocrats and Green party that won the election (although they are at the moment governing with the conservatives budget since the victory wasn't big enough) "Open your Hearts to the fugitifs" which is an odd statement to come from a conservative "Moderat" as they are called.

I'm surely at loss when it comes to analyzing this. Borg also was an anarchist when he was young and for a long time wore a horsetail and a ring in his ear...

I feel like the our country, the U.S. is to blame for wars, so we have blame for the loss of lives fleeing the wars we started. It's heartbreaking. I feel so bad for these people.

Default Re: Fugitives/Refugees coming to Europe

I wanted to start a new thread too, because it is a very hot topic at the moment.
As it happens, I am living in the town where the biggest Asylum Center is located here in Austria.
And of course, topic number one in the news. I will sum it up here...
The center is overcrowded-more than double of the people who would fit in there. They have to sleep outside in tents (provided by private people) or on a mat outside.
Doesnt matter if it is raining or crazy hot-like this summer. Some have to sleep in buses, provided by the state. Public transportation buses.
Not enough food-people have to wait hours in line for food and water. Sanitary infrastructure: really bad-no toilet paper, no shower curtains. Also, people are waiting in a row to shower. Medical doctors show up occassionally. Couple of women had a stillbirth. Many more suicide attempts. Nearly no possibilities to wash cloth.
The recent Amnesty International report was utterly devastating and does violate human rights.
NGOs are helping to a point and lot of private initiatives have been created to deliever food, water, cloth, sanitary products, language courses, private housing possibilites, jobs...
That is really good to see BUT...the distribution of the donation does not work at all. There are gangs inside of the center, taking stuff and selling it for money, cigarettes, alcohol and I dont know what. Government said, they stop the "intake" of more refugees...but what can you do, if you have hundreds! more coming every day. Bureaucracy makes it very very hard for private people who want to offer housing. Some give it up, even though they are willing to help.
The government knew in advance what was coming, but didnt prepare at all.
The center is in the town, so lots of people lingering arround in the streets, leaving trash everywhere, loud noise at night. The neighbours do not enjoy it, as you can imagine.
And as Violet posted above...more than 70 people were found dead in a truck next to the highway here.

Thats enough fuel for the right wing politicians to become more popular with their unhuman policy. Of course, also in other European countries.
In Germany they set small Asylum Centers on fire. Other cities and villages formed initiatives with the community members to help refugees.
Hungary is building a fence to stop refugees, entering from Serbia. The popular route is from Turkey to Greece to Serbia or Macedonia and then Hungary to Germany/Scandinavian states/Austria/Italy. And they declared the state of emergency in Macedonia. Thats it for now

Apart from the fugitives from the Middle-East who live in Asylums there are "Romer" - don't know the English word, earlier called Gypsies or Zigenare- from Romainia f.ex begging for money here in Sweden. They also live under miserable circumstances and pple have set fire on their "illegal" camps, the situation is similar to what you describe Zampano. Many children are coming alone, mostly boys only today 206 to a place outside Gothenburg and many of them "disappear".

This will be a hughe test of our human condition and the polarization is obvious, some will shut their hearts down others will open up and all the same it's not an easy thing to do. Pple don't necessarily behave politely just because they need help. Therefore it's necessary to deal with the psychological consequences of posttraumatic stress among the needy and often there are too many practcal issues that have to be solved so they are not receptive to this kind of help at first.

Germany expected 250.000 asylum applications for 2015...some days ago they corrected the number to 800.000
Yes transiten, we have or had them too here. Roma as an ethnic group were living in illegal trailer camps, followed by violation from so called "patriots".

It seems, that they died some days ago, because the bodies already showed signs of decay.

And whats also important...many of the refugees come here traumatized from warcrimes and/or loss of family members during war and on their escape route.

These events have always gone on from Biblical times until now and in the end,
the civilians are always exploited by 'gangs' of traffiker's that suspiciously always
get past some government official or other by bribery and blackmail etc.

This is one of the main things the UN was set up to stop yet , Sex trafficking,
economic exploitation or inhumane smuggling of the politically vulnerable
is as bad to day as it was from the exudus from Egypt by Mosses.

This is a common occurrence , somewhere in the world today exploited people die
while millions are moved around the world by underground people movers.
Usually in the wake of war , civil unrest, famine but not always most are just
exploited by the sex trade cheap labour and criminal gangs , not helped by geo
political upheavals especially in the Middle East right now. It should be said that
done correctly there is a place for people being helped genuinely fleeing warzones
like Syria and Iraq at the moment , so I'm not saying we should 'ghettotize ' them.
Just come up with better ideas for these events that are happening all the time.

Migrant crisis: Four arrests over Austria lorry deaths

2 hours ago....From the section Europe

    Short vid on link...http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-34083337

Hungarian police say they have arrested four people over the discovery of the
bodies of 71 migrants, thought to be Syrian, in a lorry in Austria.

Three of those arrested are Bulgarian and one is Afghan.

The victims included 59 men, eight women and four children who are thought to have been dead for about two days.

The decomposing bodies were discovered by Austrian police on Thursday morning
in the abandoned lorry, near the Hungarian border.

Officials said the victims probably died after suffocating in the vehicle.

The lorry was towed to a customs building with refrigeration facilities where
forensic teams worked through the night to examine the bodies.

The people are thought to have been dead when the vehicle crossed into Austria
from Hungary. Among the victims was a girl aged between one and two years old.

There is a realistic threat though, I don't expect it to be long before articles will be coming out on that theme.
How can you be sure no trained IS-warriors are hiding among the refugees?

I think Mr Borg might be putting too much feathers in Sweden's cap but he has a point when he says someone started a war and someone else has to deal with the consequences. But let's give it the benefit of the doubt. 8000 places have already been reserved for Syrian refugees next year.
