I wonder how many of us Avalonians saw that movie around the time it was released and thought that the people Andre Gregory described were absolutely nuts? I don't remember my reaction, but yeah, I probably would have thought that. Now I have to think that those people who were awake 34 years ago are sages to recognize the truth so early and pave the way for the rest of us.

Production

The idea for the film arose from Gregory's effort to work with a biographer on his life story, and Shawn's simultaneously coming up with an idea for a story about two people having a conversation.[2][3] Gregory and Shawn, who had become friends through theatre work, decided to collaborate on the project. They agreed that it should be filmed rather than produced as a play.[2] Although the film was based on events in the actors' lives, Shawn and Gregory denied (in an interview by film critic Roger Ebert) that they were playing themselves. They said that if they remade the film, they would swap the two characters to prove their point. In an interview with Noah Baumbach in 2009, Shawn said,

"I actually had a purpose as I was writing this: I wanted to destroy that guy that I played, to the extent that there was any of me there. I wanted to kill that side of myself by making the film, because that guy is totally motivated by fear."[4]

Over Millions of years Man has labeling advanced (beings) or ufo's threw the ages as GOD's.. When the hole time our minds have been shaped by our own kind > the elite, off world on Venus. That never go threw the rebirth of man on earth when its wiped out threw ice age, wars, or the elite instructed order to reboot human again, and again, and yet again. Starting with a clean slate each time , archaeology evidence abound millions of years destruction here, but the tech of elite untouched world Venus and the (God's) remain intact to this day. We only know what we have been allowed to know, from this (god hood) controller of men is man not some alien, mind injected plant of thinking.

With out this premer in place none will be the wiser or suspect the awakening taking place, here and now.. those who do , wind up dead or erased from history, and God the elite us live on from above on Venus.. laugh all you want, as this to is the mind set in place to keep the world flat for another million years. the evidance is every were if you have the premer to see it.

I love this movie. One of my favorite parts is when Andrew Gregory talks about the beehive.
I would use this movie when i wanted to torture the kids. 'You want to watch 'Dinner with Andre' again?

As far as predicting the future, for me, it shows the time loop we are held in. There was much knowledge that was already known back in 81 and before that. We just keep discovering the same stuff over and over again. 35+ years is a lot of years of regurgitating and not moving forward.

I love My Dinner With Andre. A simple premise, two theater pro's talking about their lives and work but how profound it becomes. Are they the last vestiges of a generation that cared deeply about making great art and not just their next "career move" ?

These two men continue to work together on theater projects, sometimes for many years on one piece (see their Ibsen Master Builder project). This tells us that you cannot rush creativity into being. Things need time to ripen. The world may move like lightning but we can say no thanks... I'm slowing things down.

After all -- dinner should be relaxed. Easy. Wine, candles, music. Good conversation
