    From the above article:

So in the specific case of humans, if the two assumptions made thus far are correct (i.e., (1) that humans actually are hybrids, and (2) that the chimpanzee actually is one of our two parents), then a list of traits distinguishing human beings from chimpanzees should describe the other parent involved in the cross. And by applying this sort of methodology, I did in fact succeed in narrowing things down to a particular candidate. That is, I looked up every human distinction that I could find and, so long as it was cited by an expert (physical anthropologist, anatomist, etc), I put it on a list. And that list, which includes many traits (see the lengthy table on next page), consistently describes a particular animal. Keep reading and I’ll explain.
    .............
What is this other animal that has all these traits? The answer is Sus scrofa, the ordinary pig. What are we to think of this fact? If we conclude that pigs did in fact cross with apes to produce the human race, then an avalanche of old ideas must crash to the earth. But, of course, the usual response to any new perspective is “That can’t be right, because I don’t already believe it.”

Well, they do say that humans, when cooked, are closest to pork in flavour and smell. Bacon.

They use pig heart valves in human heart valve replacement surgery. What a new twist on the "one little piggy went to market" nursery rhyme. After my sister's heart valves replacement-two of them- I've never eaten bacon or ham.

I came across this a few years ago, and my wife, who is a biologist, found the case to be compelling to the point she stopped buying pork products for most of a year, calling it all "cousin".

I read somewhere quite a while ago that the pig was created by using some human genes and therefore conclude that is the reason for our biological similarities. As for eating pork, lamb and beef, I have not touched them in years because I consider their slaughter MURDER and a vile sin against life.

It may also be the reason the Jews do not eat pork, perhaps because they had access to ancient history of which the general populace, being ignorant, would not comprehend.

Makes you wonder if the Muslim faith is on to something by not eating pork as part of its practice - perhaps seen as cannibalism?

Nope, because some animal meat caries parasitic life forms which can not be killed by cooking or preserving technics.

Pigs ingest the eggs from human faeces or vegetation contaminated with human excreta. The embryonated eggs enter the intestine where they hatch into motile oncospheres. The embryonic and basement membranes are removed by the host's digestive enzymes (particularly pepsin). Then the free oncospheres get attached on the intestinal wall using their hooks. With the help of digestive enzymes from the penetration glands, they penetrate the intestinal mucosa to enter blood and lymphatic vessels. They move along the general circulatory system to various organs, and large numbers are cleared in the liver. The surviving oncospheres preferentially migrate to striated muscles, as well as the brain, liver, and other tissues, where they settle to form cysts called cysticerci. A single cysticercus is spherical, measuring 1–2 cm in diameter, and contains an invaginated protoscolex. The central space is filled with fluid like a bladder, hence it is also called bladder worm. Cysticerci are usually formed within 70 days and may continue to grow for a year

Jews do not eat pork either. And orthodox jews do not mix milk products with meat products and do not store milk products in containers that had meat in and vice versa(other than pork which they do not eat). It is easy to explain when we know that milk products and meat products were stored in clay jars in the old days. Clay jars are porous, and some particle were most probably remaining in the pores creating bacterias that, when mixed with the meat bacteria remaining in the porous clay jars, were making new very toxic bacterias.

Things like that, integrated into religious beliefs to be followed as a cultural norm, often come in fact from cultures before those religious beliefs were built. They do respond to logical phenomenas.

They are tracing back human genetic to Chimps and pigs???

Those who did that genetic engineering got the wrong chimp! They should have taken Bonobos, we would reproduce like crazy but would not be warlike like chimps can be. lolllll

A bit of half joking here.

And no, Muslims and Jews are not off the hook either. They have pigs genes too.
