    Huh?

Paragraphed second to last sentence for ease of understanding. I am relaying what DP told someone that I have been in touch with, what his own, personal, theory is. I don't agree with it, either do those that have financial connections with Canam & DP. We can all look at the evidence and come up with multitude theories.

If you look at this link: http://www.manchestereveningnews.co....-list-13415161, and other's, you'll see that a lot of these cases have hall-marks' of Paulides hi-lighted cases. 13,500 reported missing in Greater Manchester alone in 2016. Look at the sex and age-range of those that have "vanished without a trace". Look at the number of those that were found next to, and in, bodies of water, even after being searched by police dive teams. It is an interesting correlation.
You missed my point! That was that there haven't been very many Sasquatch sightings in the UK, Manchester and Bristol.

Nor in Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland (e.g), or in Australia... or any of the city areas in the US where impossible disappearances have occurred, like the guy who vanished without trace from a nightclub with 24/7 security cameras showing he never left the only exit.

This is why Paulides doesn't publicly speculate on explanations. Nothing fits, except for some kind of unthinkable interdimensional predator — many of them, of course, operating in, or into, many different locations.

He doesn't want to state THAT, definitively, one reason being that he might lose the co-operation of many of his law enforcement and Search and Rescue colleagues and contacts.

The reason why he negates so many proposed hypotheses is exactly as Sherlock Holmes said:
Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.
He's coaching us to reach the only possible conclusion for ourselves.

It's interesting and a little amusing - if you listen to Paulides on Coast, he may talk for a couple hours before the listeners call in...and after hearing their questions I'm often left wondering if they've been listening to the show at all!

They are so eager to offer their theories - which are sometimes spoken of in dogmatic tones - that they miss all the evidence offered by Paulides that would likely make those theories impossible.

This much is clear: there are no "common sense" explanations or any logical, pedestrian sort of explanations for what he is describing. I think we can safely conclude that.

What's left is either something paranormal or so highly technological that all offered explanations will almost certainly be conjecture. In other words, one of the main reasons he stays silent on what's doing this is because his guess is as good as yours! LOL.

He's a detective. He sticks to facts. He doesn't mind conjecture, but he assiduously keeps that in a separate category. And I think that's one of his best strengths. It gives the whole thing a kind of integrity so many other paranormal investigations lack

    How about the DUMBS?!
I'm of the opinion that there are deep underground alien bases, and I think it quite possible that many of the parks happen to be built on top of them.
We have a member here that started the thread below back in 2012 on David Paulides and his premise was just that, that these Missing Cases Paulides is talking about might just be due to deep underground alien bases. Also I believe that the thread below is the only one here on Avalon to have had an actual person from the Missing 411 books show up and expand further on their story. Misskat is the Grandma of the little boy who was taken from the campground just outside of Mt. Shasta. She was the one interviewed by Paulides on the case of her grandson who according to him was taken by a robot who could project his grandmother's image, this facade stopped as he was taken into a cave, an old cave where remnants of clothing and guns from the 1800's littered the floor.
Are National Parks A Cover For Underground Alien Bases?

In this interview David mentions a story about the wife of Bruce Maccabee who is a very well known optical physicist and a distinguished member of the UFO community. This is the only story in his books which does not involve a disappearance, but there are so many facts to support the incident David thought it deserves to go into the book. His wife was bow hunting and sat inside a small hut waiting for deer to come into range. All of a sudden the forest went completely silent and around 20 feet away (6 metres) a distorted figure moved between the trees and by chance a photo was taken. After his wife explained what happened Bruce played a clip from the film Predator, and his wife jumped up and said YES, exactly like that.

    This is her photo

This is a clip from predator of what I imagined she saw. (Without Arnie )

Just a note: It's a great interview, as always, but this is a clickbait-pirated re-upload of the show from 31 July 2016. (Why doesn't YouTube take action against this? It's fraudulent.)

Nothing new here — unless you've NOT heard this, in which case, of course, it's highly recommended.

Yes, you are right Bill, it is pure click bait. The problem is when one video on youtube finishes, another comes on afterwards and you just sit back and carry on listening without checking if it is clickbait. Just a quick search for David Paulides in youtube channels brings up twenty accounts. And I still have no idea which, if any are actually his? This is a massive problem in the community.

Thanks Bill. It seems like there are nearly daily clickbait re-uploads with Paulides' name in them, with "new" or whatever in the title, all of which are regurgitated interviews from months if not years ago.

Not only is this practice deceptive, it also muscles out original content on the same subject because of the frequency. Filtering by most recent videos yields re-posts.

I do wish that David would have more of an active youtube presence through his actual channel, canammissing. Then again, all of these re-posts do serve as free labor and advertisement for his project, which deserves a great deal more attention.

This is as intended, I would conjecture.

Youtube, rather than discourage re-uploads of "controversial" material (which it could obviously do, with its ability to match up similar content across multiple videos), instead seems to encourage it, by allowing the reuploaders to monetize their channels and by not blocking reuploads.

Then it ends up being the reuploaders that we cuss at, not Youtube.

This is yet another form of soft censorship.

Excellent point of view, I hadn't considered the idea that they were throwing mud in the water.

I started reading paulides' off-the-grid book and posted an update. A fairly significant turn-around in my thinking, compared to just listening to his interviews. I've seen some commenters posting that Paulides lifted stories out of another book on Yosemite's missing people. Even if true, that doesn't change the fact that these people indeed went missing under bizarre circumstances.

    I'm seriously intrigued.

Woof! Woof! I must say, I've learned a lot about search dogs that I didn't know! You certainly DO research, Joe! Thanks for sharing with us what you have learned! I wonder if the cluster maps of both Bigfoot & David's cases have any similarity?

Thanks Foxie that’s a great question about paulides’ cluster map comparisons. From what I can figure, his Bigfoot cluster map only covers the Pacific Northwest, so it’ll be tough to find funds to buy one and compare the two. Maybe another Avalon member has the Bigfoot map?

Also, the little white things on the medallion are little ufos that just created a crop circle. There are 3 on the bottom left, and 3 on the top right.

From memory; there is a Paulides video out there, giving a talk to an audience, where he shows two maps one after another, missing persons and bigfoot sightings, and they are remarkably similar.

Unfortunately it will lead many to conclude the two are related and the problem is solved. I don't think it is that simple, though I don't dismiss it either.

Thanks Ewan...most interesting! Hey Joe! Grow your own Crop Circle?!! Wonder if you've ever seen the rock a man found in AZ, I believe, that has the exact same formation as a crop circle that was seen in Eng.? I believe it was on the History Channel quite awhile back. Totally amazing, to say the least!

Default Re: David Paulides' research: over 2000 inexplicable abductions in National Parks, wilderness, and urban areas

This is an excellent article. It focuses on the largest missing persons cluster David Paulides refers to in Arizona, which is the Verde Valley running through Sedona AZ.

The author, Mike Davis seems to be a Sedona local and specializes in information regarding it. He also has sourced his article quite well which provides more food for research if one is so inclined to do so. I've visited the website of Mr. Davis and it is brimming with articles regarding Sedona and vortexes, including one on Bradshaw Ranch. The original article is HERE.

And Mike Davis's site is here. https://legends.atavist.com/

Verde Valley Bigfoot: The Missing 411

Why are people going missing in the Sedona/Verde Valley?

    Mike Davis

It is a sad fact that people go missing every day. Some stories make headlines; many do not. If a local person goes missing the community is usually quick to jump into action to locate the person as quickly as possible. However, since the Sedona/Verde Valley region has an estimated over 4+ million visitors a year who travel to the area from all over the world by various means there seems to be the possibility of a rather large gap in reported numbers for the people are not being reported missing locally but perhaps somewhere in between.

An inexperienced hiker who takes one of the local trails sometimes gets lost. Tourists and even locals may look at the small geographic area of the region and the surrounding wilderness and assume they couldn’t get lost. However, just a few miles through the terrain can prove dangerous and in some instances, fatal. When there are missing persons locally, or when authorities have been able to track a person of interest to the area, usually the local newspapers are quick to step into action asking the local community for help sometimes giving hope in the meantime by stating “Missing person reports don’t have to end tragically.” Nevertheless; missing person cases in the area are common. The Sedona Red Rock News reports:
“Missing persons notifications are also common in our newsroom. While some missing people are just overdue and are located a few hours or a day later, others remain missing for months until another hiker or search crews find the person’s remains.”[1]
According to a major Arizona news source, there are at least 2,000 Arizonans reported missing right now, and 1,500 cases of unidentified remains.[2] (These numbers ironically are way over some of the estimates presented in “Stains in the Sediment” of 1100.) Currently, of the total number missing persons, there are at least 151 missing and unidentified children in the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s Arizona database.[3]
Arizona Public Media claims Arizona mysteriously is somehow “leading the nation in missing person cases” after conducting an interview with detective Stuart Somershoe who works cases for missing and unidentified persons in the Phoenix Police Department.[4] Arizona Public Mediastated Federal statistics show high numbers in Arizona stating:
“Arizona has more sets of unidentified remains and, per capita, missing persons cases than almost any other state, according to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, known as NamUs.”
Federal statistics show about 2000 missing persons in Arizona, among an estimated 80,000 nationwide. Phoenix police detective Stuart Somershoe stated:
We know there’s a lot more out there than what are being reported to us.”
Where are all the people going?
David Paulides, a police officer for over 20 years and author of Missing 411, created a map after careful research bringing to light 28 clusters of missing people across the continent. This map clearly has the Verde Valley region as the #1 place in the state to go missing. In other words, more people disappear in the Sedona/Verde Valley area than anywhere else in the state. According to Paulides:
“People who dissapear inside National Parks are not found listed on a database anywhere in North America as a missing person.”[5]

After researching 1000’s of cases there was found to exist a geographical clustering effect by David Paulides to most of the disappearances. The top map shows where these 28 main cluster areas located in the United States. According to this map the Verde Valley region is the major hotspot in the state of Arizona.
It appears the Verde Valley is the area where more people are vanishing than anywhere else. To think Arizona ranks as being one of the highest in the United States than this should raise some alarms and questions. Is the Verde Valley region one of the highest ranking in the United States for disappearances and why? The high number of missing persons per capita reportedly going missing is alarming enough on its own merit but to find out the Sedona/Verde Valley area is the hotspot to vanish is a completely different story. Something appears to be happening to people in the region and nobody is or has been talking about it until now.
The most startling detail released by David Paulides and his team was a connection made through research very odd mysterious disappearances are taking place in areas where there is ironically found the name “devil.” On Coast to Coast AM Paulides stated:
“A lot of people over the last 5 years we’ve done research on have disappeared in those geographical areas where there’s devil in the name. The people I am around everyday I work with we look each other in the eye sometimes and can’t believe what we have found.”[6]
As the top image reveals there is the “Devils Bridge” located in Sedona as well as “Devil’s Kitchen.” Does this possible point to and have a connection to all the people reportedly going missing in the region according to the map Paulides and his team of investigators created? Could the devil really, in this case, be in found in the details? It is a little odd places where people are vanishing have the name devil in its details...
After 20+ years leaving the police force, Paulides became a cryptozoologist, researching and publishing books on the topic of Bigfoot, as well as on the disappearance of people to which he attributes unspecified unknown causes.

    According to Wikipedia:
“Paulides has said North America Bigfoot Search was instrumental in the genesis of a paper published in 2013 claiming Bigfoot was real: “The world needs to understand that North America Bigfoot Search was the organizer of the study. We orchestrated the search that led to picking Dr. Ketchum to conduct a study of bigfoot DNA. The resulting paper documented the analysis of 111 samples of hypothesized Bigfoot DNA and was written by eleven different authors: Melba S. Ketchum, P.W. Wojtkiewicz, A.B. Watts, D.W. Spence, A.K. Holzenburg, D.G. Toler, T.M. Prychitko, F. Zhang, S. Bollinger, R. Shoulders, and R. Smith. On November 24, 2012, DNA Diagnostics, a veterinary laboratory headed by Ketchum, issued a press release prior to peer review claiming that:
A team of scientists can verify that their 5-year long DNA study, currently under peer-review, confirms the existence of a novel hominin hybrid species, commonly called ‘Bigfoot’ or ‘Sasquatch,’ living in North America. Researchers’ extensive DNA sequencing suggests that the legendary Sasquatch is a human relative that arose approximately 15,000 years ago as a hybrid cross of modern Homo sapiens with an unknown primate species.”
    The Bigfoot Connection
Northern Arizona appears to be in the prehistoric panic mode where Bigfoot sightings are a normal occurrence. The area in the state of Arizona where more Bigfoot sightings occur than anywhere else is reportedly the Verde Valley. These unusually large creatures, who very well might account for the giant skeletons recovered in the area as reported in the local newspaper numerous times back in the day, have reportedly been seen on more than a few occasions by local residents. (Finding numerous newspaper articles about giant remains to go with the eyewitness accounts has to give some credit to all the sightings.)[7]

Does this perhaps have a connection to why so many people reportedly are going missing in the region?

The area in Arizona where more Bigfoot sightings occur than anywhere else is the Sedona/Verde Valley region according to the Joe Rogan Experience. The History Channel came to the same conclusion. Bigfoot Sighting Density Map - ©2009 History Channel. Other maps broke down by county have also been constructed by Frontiers of Zoology showing the middle of the state as being the major hotspot. To date, there is no complete database of Bigfoot sightings. Add to the fact the creature is called by so many other names and the reported sightings statistics are rather difficult to pin down much like the creature itself. However, to date, all researchers who have investigated Arizona sightings have concluded the same area in the middle of the state has more activity than anywhere else.
Some groups like BFRO (Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization) an all-volunteer network of bigfoot/sasquatch researchers, archivists, and investigators have numerous reported sightings in Coconino, Apache, andYavapai. According toBFRO Coconino county has more reported sightings than anywhere else with Yavapai County coming in 3rd. Coconino and Yavapai County are both in the middle of the state next to each other basically forming the boundaries of the Verde Valley. With the area having so many Bigfoot sightings a person has to wonder if there is a connection with the mystery of all the people vanishing into thin air in the region. Is there a connection between the two? Besides getting lost and exposed to the rough elements found in the region what on earth could be making all the people seemingly fall off the face of the earth?
    The UFO Connection
In 2018 UFO Desk Reference published the results of a study conducted crunching UFO sighting numbers from NUFORC (National UFO Reporting Center) and MUFON (Mutual UFO Network). The results compared numbers of 2001-2015 to the 2001-2017 numbers for ranking purposes. In terms of national percentages according to the numbers: the Top Ten States still represent 52% of the Nation’s sightings and the Top Twenty States still represent 74% of the Nation’s sightings.
<img draggable="false"> According to UFO Desk Reference Arizona ranks in the top 10 for having the most UFO sightings in the United States.

Holding on tight as being a hotspot for UFO activity Arizona holds its rank at #7 being in the top 10 in the United States. The number of sightings in the state has gone up in the last couple years it appears. According to Ex-State Senator Dave Schmidtthe Sedona/Verde Valley region has the highest UFO traffic in the state” and at one time the world.[8] Proof the region has the highest UFO activity can be found if a person looks close enough something outlined in Sedona/Verde Valley UFOs.
With the Sedona/Verde Valley region having the highest UFO and Bigfoot sightings per capita in the state, a person has to wonder if there is a connection to all the people vanishing as well.
    The Mogollon Monster
Researchers seem to agree something slightly inhuman may be wandering amongst the Ponderosa pines and Pinyon-Juniper woodlands of northern Arizona. The Mogollon Monster is Arizona’s version of Bigfoot mostly spotted in the center region of the state along the Mogollon Rim, although it has allegedly been spotted in the Verde Valley region going into Prescott and in the Grand Canyon. Facts about this creature are about as rare as the monster itself. Described across many accounts as a large human-like creature, having green or red eyes, covered in white, gray or black-brown hair covered everywhere but on the face, hands, feet, and chest. Its origins are unknown. Tales of the monster have been reported many times dating all the way back to 1903 when I.W. Stevens told the Williams News:
“I saw … a man with long white hair and a matted beard that reached his knees. He wore no clothing and upon his talon-like fingers were claws at least two inches long. A coat of gray hair nearly covered his body, with here and there a patch of dirty skin showing.”
Changing the name of a Bigfoot creature into something like the Mogollon Monster seems to be a way for people to be able to deflect from the truth speaking about paranormal aspects on the down low without becoming labeled or creating a stampede by alerting people. However, unlike simply calling the reported creature a Bigfoot, this beast has been given the special title of “Monster.” Reports state the creature is highly territorial and can, at times, be quite violent.
Cryptozoologist Don Davis believed he encountered the monster on a Boy Scouts camping trip sometime around 1944 near Payson, Arizona. Davis recounted his tale stating:
“The creature was huge. Its eyes were deep set and hard to see, but they seemed expressionless. His face seemed pretty much devoid of hair, but there seemed to be hair along the sides of his face. His chest, shoulders, and arms were massive, especially the upper arms; easily upwards of 6 inches in diameter, perhaps much, much more. I could see he was pretty hairy, but didn’t observe really how thick the body hair was.”
There is also an account from a woman who said she saw the creature describing it as hairy, black and about 8 feet tall. The Native American people living in the area of reported sightings have had encounters as well. In 2006, Collette Altaha stated:
“We’re not prone to easily talk to outsiders, but there have been more sightings than ever before. It cannot be ignored any longer.”
The fact Native Americans see and experience this creature to the point where they are forced to contact their police department should point to the fact something is happening.
    CONCLUSION

People should NEVER disappear and not be found. Perhaps the ancient Anasazi people who resided in the area in ancient times were also vanishing. At places like Montezuma Castle, the ancient people very well could have been forced to battle Bigfoot-like creatures thus forcing them to build the “Castle in the Cliffs” out of self-defense and ultimately the reason to risk climbing up 100 foot of primitive rope and stick ladders each day in an area having no natural predators to warrant the risk. Today on modern ladders people would find it rather difficult to go up 100 feet (10 stories) of modern ladders straight up and down each day yet for some strange reason the people of the time did. Something must have been happening in the area in ancient times forcing the area's inhabitants to go live in cliffs. Wonder if the same things were happening then as now, “Were people vanishing?

Bigfoot legends around the Sedona/Verde Valley area go back over a hundred years. Sheepherders would not drive their sheep through Sycamore Canyon to summer pasture because of “Giant Hairy Men” that lived in Sycamore Canyon. This was reported clear back in the 1800’s.[9]

There are still reports of the locals stumbling upon a Bigfoot here and there. “The beast was scaring off the fish.”, reported a shocked camper, “The creature had a foul odious body odor, and the filthy body noises it made frightened birds and wild varmits - - they were running for cover. I was scared senseless!”[10]

A few friends decided to go camping by the General Crook Trail in the Verde Valley where for two long nights the guys had rocks thrown at them from just a few feet away that by all accounts turned out to be a Bigfoot. When the men saw a rock come flying out of a bush one of them zoomed into the bush with night vision goggles and spotted something very large and tall, crouching and staring back at them.[11]
While touring property under construction a man encountered “several 9-foot-tall Bigfoot-type creatures that appeared to be guarding the site.” Then a real estate agent for Century 21 relayed a similar sighting near Cottonwood Creek the year before. The agent said the creature was massive and covered in black curly hair.[12]
The famous local Bradshaw Ranch is on record spotting Bigfoot numerous times after owner Linda Bradshaw took photos of the sighting to be professionally developed when she noticed a multitude of strange things including orbs of light, aliens, UFOs, and a Bigfoot creature she later called “Big Girl.”[13] Big Girl would often reportedly leave Linda Bradshaw long sticks arranged in geometric patterns as well as bang and rap on a tree trunk or a fence post with a heavy stick three times in order to get Linda’s attention acting as a greeting.[14]
Was “The Verde Valley Giant” a bigfoot otherwise known as the Mogollon Monster?
Though reported sightings of both Bigfoot and UFOs occurring at the same times and places are not uncommonly reported by eyewitnesses. The concurrence of these events is generally dismissed as coincidental and is not considered a matter of serious inquiry. However, over thirty years ago writers/researchers such as John Keel and Dr. Michael Persinger maintained there is a definite connection between Bigfoot and UFOs. This observation was independently made by both. As strange as these phenomena are, even more so are the mysterious Orbs seen in the forests which according to eyewitness accounts and legend have the ability to shapeshift. Could the UFO orbs somehow be turning into Bigfoot-like creatures? Is Bigfoot the pet of Aliens?
The fact the Sedona/Verde Valley area has the highest Bigfoot and UFO sightings in the state is a good indication something is occurring in the region. Add to this the fact more people are reportedly vanishing in the area than anywhere else and you have a mystery worthy of notice.
Author and journalist Nick Redfern who specializes in a wide range of unsolved mysteries, including Bigfoot, UFO sightings, and alien abductions have made the case for the association of Bigfoot-type creatures with unusual magnetic conditions found at vortex sites and mystery luminosities or light-forms. Are these reported UFO luminosities or orbs connected to the Bigfoot sightings? In 2008, Nick Redfern published There’s Something in the Woods, in which he wrote about some of the strange things taking place in the forests. There’s something strange taking place locally in the forests enough to warrant the US Government to purchase ranches as well as all the land around such locations. The Bradshaw Ranch is a perfect example.
National Forest Service officials appear to remain unfazed by these reports of otherworldly activity. However, the amount of paranormal activity recorded would make a person think the surrounding desert was some kind of intergalactic airport and has many of the locals scratching their heads. UFO’s, giant skeletons, eyewitness accounts, and the numbers of missing persons each year all point to the very distinct possibility something rather odd is going on in the region. The fact people consider the area to be one of the all-time top UFO hotspots from around the world is a good indication all the eyewitness accounts perhaps have some substance after all.[15]
Researcher and author Graham Hancock coined the phrase, “we’re like a species with amnesia,” and it’s true. These discoveries indeed shake the foundations of many people’s belief systems for it brings to light the realization the human race has been kept from so much information and forced into a specific worldview. The fact is that Bigfoot is beyond weird: there’s far more going on than a big old ape lumbering around and conveniently never getting caught. Nevertheless, the biggest question remains to be answered, “Why are more people reportedly disappearing in the Sedona/Verde Valley region than anywhere else?Is this something that has been going on for a long time or is it a more recent phenomenon and what are the possible causes?

Instead of looking after the fact for a missing person there are some good tips on how not to stand out like a sore thumb while out exploring the great outdoors in the Sedona/Verde Valley region like knowing 90% of the people who went missing were wearing bright colored clothing. The strange vanishings are taking place between 2:30-7:00 PM oddly around the same time of weather events like thunderstorms... Where are all the people going? It’s almost like they are being pulled into some kind of mysterious vortex...

I know those maps...and I agree they are very similar to each other. I'll chalk up a few 411 cases to Squatch perhaps....but like you, I humbly believe there is something much more sinister involved with a majority of them and not related to Bigfoot at all. For me it boils down to interdimensials having the ability to open and close portals and taking people. That being said...yes, the bigfoot map and the 411 map are indeed very similar.
