UPDATE: FDA Requests Removal of All Ranitidine Products (Zantac) from the Market

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced on April 1, 2020, it is requesting manufacturers withdraw all prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) ranitidine drugs from the market immediately. This is the latest step in an ongoing investigation of a contaminant known as N-Nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) in ranitidine medications (commonly known by the brand name Zantac).

Zantac’s active ingredient linked to increased risk of cancer in humans

The agency has determined that the impurity in some ranitidine products increases over time and when stored at higher than room temperatures and may result in consumer exposure to unacceptable levels of this impurity. As a result of this immediate market withdrawal request, ranitidine products will not be available for new or existing prescriptions or OTC use in the U.S.

The Tribeca Film Festival now is celebrating its 15th year and founders, actor Robert De Niro and producer Jane Rosenthal mark the occasion with an interview on TODAY. De Niro, who has an autistic child, comments on the decision to pull the anti-vaccination film “Vaxxed” from this year’s line up, even though he says, “I think the movie is something that people should see,” and he questions statistics on vaccine-preventable diseases.

I like Deniro as an actor, full stop.

He has an autistic child, knows the narrative is false, thinks everyone should see the movie, but...his child is not important enough to stand up for the fact that the vaccine injured him. He does not want to lose his status or his ability to earn more money. His status is worth more to him than his child.
