Author Grant Cameron has been presenting excellent and well-documented UFO research for some time. Thanks to Gio for directing attention to his recent work, which is about music rather than presidents. What's funny is Cameron himself says he has little interest in the subject, which he proves by forgetting musician's names. Here are songs mentioned specifically as being "a message from the stars" ...

John Denver was from Roswell, New Mexico (!) and served on the board of the National Space Society. He was involved with the "Citizens In Space" program, and received the NASA Public Service Medal for "helping to increase awareness of space exploration by the peoples of the world." He passed NASA's physical exam, and was in line for a space flight when he died in a single-fatality plane crash in 1997.

His spirit joined as so was formed ten thousand years ago
Between the swan and Hercules where even dark clouds glow
To live with grace, to ride the swell, to yet be strong of will
To love the wind, to learn its song, an empty place to fill

Apollo taught me to rhyme, Orpheus taught me to play
Andromeda cast down her sign and Vega lights my way

Smoke rings in a galaxy, an endless flight through time
Lyra gave her harp to him and left him free to climb
A winter's journey from the moon to reach the summer sun
To rise again, to sing for you a song that's yet unsung

Well, my flabber has been ghasted. Who knew that this annoying little piece of brain candy by The Flock Of Steamshovels was about an alien abduction? Certainly not me. The song itself makes me want to run far away.

Cameron has noted that a common musical favorite among contactees is The Moody Blues, a band that has never been shy about their mystical leanings. As the story goes, in 1967 the band was returning to London late at night after a gig. At some point, they were startled to realize that the highway was deserted, even more so when they saw a large, noiseless, glowing ball, metallic on top and red toward the bottom. Apparently they lost three hours time. To this day, band members agree on the sighting, the loss of time, and a lack of knowledge over what happened. It has been reported that the song "Steppin' In A Slide Zone" refers to that incident.

Coincidence or not, it was that same year they changed their sound from "blues" to "progressive." Flute player Ray Thomas claims to have had at least one close encounter with aliens. According to Cameron, various band members say they remember making a pre-birth agreement to become musicians in order to spread a positive message.

Reg Presley who was the singer of "wild thing " and front man of the troggs was pretty damn cool. He would have fit in perfectly as an avalonian...

    http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/wild-...n_2647670.html

That article has some good stuff he said..

"One conclusion I have come to is that if you wish to know all that is going on around you on this planet, you are the only one that can get to the truth. You as an individual have much work to do. You have many books to read, many lectures to visit, and should have a truly open mind to begin with,” Presley wrote in his book.

I like to think that this song is related somehow...

    It is.

Presley was known in some British circles as a "croppie" due to his frequent visitations of crop circles. He wrote a book in 2002, "Wild Things They Don't Tell Us", in which he tells a few wild things. At the time he was asked about UFOs:

"I wasn't into it until I saw one, and then I saw two, and at the moment I've seen fourteen but I would say some of those are a bit iffy."

    **

The documentation in Grant Cameron's research since 1977 has been impressive to say the least. In many ways this was what he was all about and why his reports have been taken seriously by a discriminating public. His journey has led him to investigate almost exclusively Presidents and Heads of State. It's only been in the past year or so that he's been talking about "love" and "consciousness". Kind of startling. Or maybe not.

Cat Stevens has flown the house of freezing steel
But he's back in bed now

I've flown the house of freezing, the house of freezing steel
And though my body's back I know it can't be real
'Cause I've been on that house without a guiding wheel
    The house of freezing steel

Oh where it's going, picked me up at seven
When my eyes were weak from the light of the morning
Oh sister won't you tell me what a man might want to know
This madness is fine, yes if you're mad at the time

Back on the house of freezing, the house of freezing steel
They tied my body up, I'm forced to eat my meal
A cold plate of lamb, cold potatoes too
Now what's a soul to do

Up on the house of freezing, the house of freezing steel
I made my mind up then to get me to the wheel
I made the cabin door, the pilot turned around
    He said we're Venus bound

    Oh please take me home
After all I'm only human and the Earth is where I belong
I must have looked pitiful to this freak without a face
'Cause as he touched my head I saw myself back in bed

I've flown the house of freezing steel

Sun Ra (given name: Henry Blount, legal name: Le Son'y Ra) famously told anyone who'd listen that he was from another planet. Interestingly, he never backed down from this claim. When he checked into a hospital near the end of his life he listed his address as "Saturn". When drafted for WWII he was jailed as a Conscientious Objector, another stance he never backed down from. One of the few jazz artists who wrote lyrics to his songs, his was a lifelong message of love and understanding.

Sun Ra claimed to have been abducted by aliens in the mid 1930's while a student at Alabama A&M University.

"My whole body changed into something else. I could see through myself. And I went up ... I wasn't in human form ... I landed on a planet I identified as Saturn ... they teleported me and I was down on a stage with them. They wanted to talk with me. They had one little antenna on each ear. A little antenna over each eye. They talked to me. They told me to stop (attending college) because there was going to be great trouble in schools ... the world was going into complete chaos. I would speak through music and the world will listen. That's what they told me."

When when will you be landing
    When when will you return
    Feel feel my heart expanding
    You and your alien arms

All my earthly dreams are shattered
    I'm so tired I quit
Take me forever it doesn't matter
    Deep inside your ship

La la la la la la landing
    Please oh won't you return
Feel see your blue lights are flashing
    You and your alien arms

Deep in the forest I whirl
Like I did as a little girl
Let my eyes rise in the sky
Looking for you oh you know
I would go anywhere at all
Cause no star is too far with you

Oh I am waiting for you
Waiting for you to take me up by my starry spine
    With your distant fingers
Oh I am waiting for you
    I am waiting for you

Bob Marley's producer Lee "Scratch" Perry can tell you he has seen a few UFOs in his time. That is, if you can understand what in the sam hill he's talking about. A daily diet of ganja and rum ... hmm ... pretty spacey ...

Vocalist Sammy Hagar first came to prominence with the hard rock band Montrose in the early 70's, and gained later fame as a member of Van Halen. His first UFO sighting was at the age of five: "At the time, I thought it was a car with no wheels. We lived out in the country and I saw this thing floating across a field, creating this big dust storm. I threw rocks at it."

In this "uncensored" interview, he describes an experience with aliens when he was about twenty:

He wrote a song about it:

Start with a Sun and move on out
The future's in the sky above
The heavens unfold and a new star is born
    Space & Time making love

Oh what a time we had, living underground
I move to Station Number Five, see you next time around

As far as you want and close as you need
It's all in your mind you know
This old Earth hasn't really seen its day
    It's here, time to go

I remember when it was so clear
We were young but the memory still remains
To pick fruit from a tree, fish from the seas
Now nothing's left here but the stains
I can't cry no more, can only be glad
There's other places we can be
If the time suits you right, I'm leaving tonight
    Come fly away with me
    Yeah
