Could Russia and the Saudis be planning a natural gas cartel?
• Currently, Saudi Arabia does not import or export natural gas and therefore they have not established themselves as a global natural gas supplier even though they produce significant amounts of it. Additionally, Saudi Arabia has been able to achieve important security of supply due to the fact that they only rely on themselves for their natural gas needs. The Saudi offer to invest in Russia will have very strong strings attached. Investing in Russian oil and gas operations, including LNG, will be linked to receiving an in depth insight and access to Russian gas technology and R&D. Aramco will without any doubt have direct research links and investments with Gazprom. For Russia, a combined market approach of OPEC and the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), labelled sometimes as the gas cartel, would increase its global power. The same is the case for Saudi Arabia, as the OPEC leader, holding vast reserves of natural and associated gas, understands that a combined OPEC-GECF strategy could have several main strategic advantages. By cooperating with Russia, Saudi Arabia could kill two birds with one stone. Riyadh’s strategy with OPEC – Russia could be solidified, while at the same time it holds power over the world’s gas sector.
• Moscow’s support for Riyadh’s plans will not only benefit the Kingdom’s natural gas development, but also corner Qatar fully. A combined Russian-Saudi power play in global gas could change it dramatically. Putin and MBS could be looking for a kill.

NATO Holds Defense Drill Simulating Russian Invasion Of Baltics
• NATO officials are growing increasingly nervous about the possibility of an invasion of the Baltic states ahead of Russian wargames planned this fall on the border of Belarus and Poland that could involve as many as 100,000 troops. That “anxiety” was on display this week, when US and British troops carried out the first NATO military exercise that involved a simulated defense of the Suwalki Gap, an area in northern Poland on the border with Lithuania that serves as the gateway to the Baltic region.
• In other words, a drill against a Russian invasion of the Baltics states, and by extension, Europe.
• NATO officials described the area as a “choke point” that, if it were taken by an invading force, could potentially isolate the Baltic states from their NATO allies
• US and UK aircraft took part in the exercises, alongside troops from Poland, Lithuania and Croatia in a simulated defense of the potential flashpoint in an area several hours’ drive from where a U.S. battalion is stationed at Orzysz base in Poland

Has Russia Just Grounded All of America’s Carrier-Based Aircraft off the Coast of Syria?
• In shooting down the Syrian Su-22 the US Navy may have just complicated its life far more than it intended
• That means the American plane took off from a carrier (George HW Bush), flew over all of Russia’s radar and missile sites in western Syria, shot down the Syrian Su-22 in Raqqa, and then flew right back over all the Russian anti-air sites.
• The reason Americans could do so without any worries is because having announced the flight to the Russians through the deconfliction channel (but not their intention to be shooting down Syrian jets without trying to contact the Russians again) the Russians were honor-bound to not molest the US plane.
• You can understand then why Moscow might feel particularly furious today. The US made Russia look weak though its F/A-18 fighter was actually at the mercy of Russian air defenses for its entire foray into Syria and back.
• This does not mean a whole lot for US aircraft which operate from Turkey’s Incirlik airbase, and the new US airbase in Kurdish-held northern Syria. Taking off from their eastern bases they have little reason to be crossing the Euphrates, and that’s even true if they’re targeting Syrian jets which they can do from hundreds of kilometers away.
• The US carrier-based aircraft however, are an entirely different story. Their life just got a lot more complicated. If they want to join the fray in eastern Syria they now have to fly over Russian anti-air sites which will be tracking them as targets the whole way.
• The alternative is for USS Bush to sail further north and have its aircraft reach eastern Syria via Turkish airspace, but that would take the consent of, and increase the reliance on, Turkey.

• “As a result of recent encounters involving pro-Syrian regime and Russian forces, we have taken prudent measures to reposition aircraft over Syria so as to continue targeting ISIS forces while ensuring the safety of our aircrews given known threats in the battlespace,” Dillon said.

• More details appeared about the incident with the Syrian Su-22 plane that was downed Sunday by a US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet in the area south of Tabqah in the province of Raqqah.
• Accordng to the Syrian media, the F/A-18 Super Hornet attacked the Su-22 despite the presence of Russian aircraft monitoring the situation in the area.
• The Su-22 was reportedly downed just 15 minutes after it took off from the airfield, before the warplane was able to carry out any airstrikes.

Israel Has Been Secretly Funding Syrian Rebels For Years
• According to the WSJ, Israel and Saudi Arabia have been alligned from the onset of the Syrian conflict, “With Israel supplying Syrian rebels near its border with cash as well as food, fuel and medical supplies for years, a secret engagement in the enemy country’s civil war aimed at carving out a buffer zone populated by friendly forces.”
• The Israeli army is in regular communication with rebel groups and its assistance includes undisclosed payments to commanders that help pay salaries of fighters and buy ammunition and weapons
• A special Israeli army unit was created to oversee the costly aid operation, the WSJ reported, which gives Fursan al-Joulan – Knights of the Golan – an estimated $5,000 (£3,900) a month. The group of around 400 fighters receives no direct support from Western rebel backers, and is not affiliated with the Free Syrian Army, the official rebel umbrella organisation
• The Journal also reports that Israel may be funding up to four other rebel groups which have Western backing. The groups use the cash to pay fighters and buy ammunition.
• Ironically, while Assad has in the past claimed – correctly it now turns out – that Israel supports rebel groups which his government refers to as terrorists, elements of the opposition have accused Israel of helping to keep the regime in power. The biggest irony, of course, is that virtually for the entire duration of the Syrian conflict, Israel and Saudi Arabia were aligned on the same side against the Assad regime;

I'm bummed to hear you feel that way about George Webb. So you don't feel that Webb is naive and RDS is taking advantage but that they are working together?
I don't think Webb is naive at all. He's intentionally slow-dripping information, and if his own statements are true then his own statements prove it. I'll explain how in case you are wondering.

Like I said before, Webb admitted in a video within the last month or so that he's "old" Mossad. He admitted that he knew about all the blackmail involving children going on all over the world but wishes that it returns to former levels when it was very discreet. He said this in a video when he was running around Washington DC investigating Seth Rich's murder and got freaked out and thought he was about to be killed. A few days later he was arrested which I do not hold against him, it all looks like very funny business and the FBI even interviewed him. He was arrested for DUI I think, but like I said, the details are strange and I have questions.

So what?, you might ask.

George Webb said in one of his earlier videos (from late 2016/early 2017, remember) that he couldn't believe the "pizzagate" stuff at first and stayed away from it, but eventually had to acknowledge it and incorporate it into his exposure of the Clinton machine in Haiti.

So we now know that was actually a lie, that he did know about all of this stuff (at least if what he said during his Mossad admission was true), and he was just leaking out information piece by piece in a slow-drip fashion as info war against the Clinton network. He wasn't acting as some courageous whistleblower telling all of the morally wrong things he's seen (and maybe done). He was lying about how much he knew (and so that Mossad knew, and Israel) and only releasing certain info at certain times. That's intel work.

He still gives good leads. We just have to remember why he's doing it.

I get news from all kinds of sources. The best places to go are good forums where independent researchers hang out and compile everything they're finding. Voat has subforums on specific topics that are good like that. I get my news from all the usual social media personalities too but everybody has their own personality and way they like to present things.

Judicial Watch seeks documents
unlawfully removed by Comey

(Published on Jun 19, 2017)
_________________________

Weekly Update: JW Pursues Comey Records

JUNE 16, 2017

The Swamp creatures in Washington who gamed the system to appoint a special prosecutor need to be held accountable.

Your Judicial Watch is focusing on James Comey, the former FBI Director who spirited away government documents, then arranged for the contents of those documents to be leaked to the media to force the appointment of a special prosecutor. We aim to get the bottom of both the records’ removal and the leaks to the media, then hold accountable the persons who were involved.

Just today, we sued the Justice Department, which oversees the FBI, for a key Comey memo. The lawsuit seeks access to a memorandum Comey wrote after a private meeting with President Trump regarding the pending investigation of Gen. Mike Flynn and potential Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:17-cv-01189).

We filed the suit here in DC, after the Department of Justice failed to respond to our May 16 FOIA request for:
The memorandum written by former Director James Comey memorializing his meeting and conversation with President Trump regarding the FBI’s investigation of potential Russian interference in the 2016 United States presidential election. For purposes of clarification, this memorandum was reportedly written on or about February 13, 2017 and is the subject of a New York Times article … dated May 16, 2017.
The memo purportedly recounts a conversation between President Trump and Comey about Flynn.

(Judicial Watch is pursuing six FOIA lawsuits (see here, here, here, here, here and here) related to the surveillance and unmasking President Trump’s associates during the FBI’s investigation of potential Russian involvement and the subsequent leaking of information about that investigation to the media.)

Having to sue to get a document leaked to The New York Times is a scandal. The memo should be released forthwith, and, frankly, the president can and should order its immediate release.

But the lawsuit was only one of several significant actions we took this week. Yesterday we sent acting FBI Director Andrew G. McCabe a letter reminding him about the FBI’s legal obligation under the Federal Records Act (FRA) to recover records removed from the agency, including Comey’s memos apparently taken by Comey when he left the FBI and subsequently leaked to the media.

My June 14 letter states:
As you are well aware, former FBI Director James Comey gave sworn testimony last week before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Among other things, Mr. Comey confirmed that, while in office, he created various memoranda regarding his meetings with President Trump. Mr. Comey also confirmed that, after his departure from the FBI, he provided at least some of these memoranda to a third party, Columbia Law School Professor Daniel Richman, for the purpose of leaking them to the press. Various media outlets now have reported that Professor Richman has provided these memoranda to the FBI. It is unclear whether he still retains copies of the memoranda.

I am writing to you on behalf of Judicial Watch, Inc., a not-for-profit educational organization that seeks to promote transparency, accountability, and integrity in government and fidelity to the rule of law. In furtherance of its public interest mission, Judicial Watch regularly requests access to the records of the FBI through the Freedom of Information Act and disseminates its findings to the public. In fact, on May 16, 2017, Judicial Watch submitted a FOIA request seeking these specific memoranda removed from the FBI by Mr. Comey. Judicial Watch also has pending FOIA lawsuits in which the memoranda may be at issue.

These memoranda were created by Mr. Comey while serving as FBI director, were written on his FBI laptop, and concerned official government business. As such, they indisputably are records subject to the Federal Records Act. 44 U.S.C. §§ 2101-18, 2901-09, 3101-07, and 3301-14. The fact that Mr. Comey removed these memoranda from the FBI upon his departure, apparently for the purpose of subsequently leaking them to the press, confirms the FBI’s failure to retain and properly manage its records in accordance with the Federal Records Act. Even if Mr. Comey no longer has possession of these particular memoranda, as he now claims, some or all of these memoranda may still be in possession of a third party, such as Professor Richman, and must be recovered. Mr. Comey’s removal of these memoranda also suggests that other records may have been removed by Mr. Comey and may remain in his possession or in the possession of others. If so, these records must be recovered by the FBI as well.

As you may be aware, the Federal Records Act imposes a direct responsibility on you to take steps to recover any records unlawfully removed from the FBI. Specifically, upon learning of “any actual, impending, or threatened unlawful removal, defacing, alteration, corruption, deletion, erasure, or other destruction of records in the custody of the agency,” you must notify the Archivist of the United States. 44 U.S.C. § 3106. Upon learning that records have been unlawfully removed from the FBI, you then are required to initiate action through the Attorney General for the recovery of records. Id.

In the event you fail to take these steps, you should be aware that Judicial Watch is authorized under the law to file a lawsuit in federal district court seeking that you be compelled to comply with the law. Judicial Watch, Inc. v. Kerry, 844 F.3d 952, 955 (D.C. Cir. 2016); Armstrong v. Bush, 924 F.2d 282,296 (D.C. Cir. 1991). Please advise us no later than June 26, 2017 if you intend to take the action required under the law. If we do not hear from you by that date, we will assume that you do not intend to take any action. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Mr. Comey left the FBI with government records, and the FBI and Justice Department are obligated to get them back. If they don’t, we may sue to try to force them to do so.

Judicial Watch: Susan Rice ‘Unmasking’ Documents Moved from NSC to Obama Library
• The National Security Council cannot hand over records relating to former National Security Adviser Susan Rice’s surveillance of Americans, because they have been moved to the Obama presidential library and may be sealed for as many as five years, conservative watchdog Judicial Watch announced Monday.
• The NSC informed Judicial Watch in a letter dated May 23 that materials related to Rice’s requests to know the identities of Americans swept up in surveillance of foreign targets, including any Trump campaign or transition officials, have been moved to the library.
• Judicial Watch earlier this year filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for those documents, including of communications between Rice and any intelligence community member or agency regarding any Russian involvement in the 2016 elections, the hacking of Democratic National Committee computers, or any suspected communications between Russia and Trump officials.
• Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said the group will seek to find out when the records were moved, and warned of legal actions. He said:
• Prosecutors, Congress, and the public will want to know when the National Security Council shipped off the records about potential intelligence abuses by the Susan Rice and others in the Obama White House to the memory hole of the Obama Presidential Library. We are considering our legal options but we hope that the Special Counsel and Congress also consider their options and get these records.

70% of Americans think government can protect them from terrorism
• Seven in ten Americans have a great deal or fair amount of confidence that the US government can protect them from terrorist attacks, a 15-point increase since the massacre in San Bernardino, California in December 2015, a new Gallup poll found.
• Gallup has asked the question since the September 2001 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, DC. Last year’s survey showed the confidence at its lowest point of only 55 percent.
• Confidence in the government’s protection ranged from 73 percent to 82 percent under President George W. Bush, and held at around 75 percent under President Barack Obama until 2015, when it began to slide to 67 percent.

John McCain threatens to block Trump’s deputy defense secretary nominee over Ukraine
• Sen. John McCain on Tuesday threatened to block President Trump’s deputy defense secretary nominee during a tense exchange over providing weapons to Ukraine.
• McCain took issue with Boeing executive Pat Shanahan’s written response to the Senate Armed Services Committee that he would need to take a look at equipping Ukrainian allies with lethal arms, something McCain has long advocated.
• “Have you not been aware of the issue? You’re not aware of the actions of the Senate Armed Services cCommittee? Have you not been aware of the thousands of people who have been killed by Vladimir Putin? Have you missed all that in your duties at one of the major defense corporations in this country?”

Brace Yourself, It's Going To Get A Lot

_________Articles_________
McCain Institute Donors Look Disturbingly Similar To Clinton Foundation – Soros, Teneo, Saudia Arabia…
• Clinton Foundation which seemed to be nothing more than a front created for the Clintons to peddle their influence around the world in return for staggering “charitable” donations.
• Take, for example, our posts which questioned whether the CEO of Dow Chemical, Andrew Liveris, made very sizable contributions to the Clinton Foundation just so he could get an audience with then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to discuss his failed $9 billion joint venture with Kuwait.
• Or, there was that time that Hillary was offered $12 million from Moroccan King Mohammed VI just to host her annual “Clinton Global Initiative” meeting in his country.
• who else in Congress might just be running miniature Clinton Foundation-ish organizations and enriching their personal families in the process.
• In addition to the ‘who’s who’ of massive corporate donors (Chevron, Cisco, FedEx, Wal-Mart…), many of which were also large contributors to the Clinton Foundation, the McCain Institute counts many other more ‘questionable’ donors, including Saudi Arabia, Teneo (Doug Band’s firm) and George Soros, among its largest.
• The McCain Institute was OCP, S.A., a Moroccan state-owned phosphate company. Ironically, OCP just happened to also be a “major sponsor” of the Clinton Global Initiative where Bill was a featured speaker. He accepted more than $100,000 from OCP,
• The McCain group has also accepted at least $100,000 from the Pivotal Foundation,
• The Pivotal Foundation has in the last three years given $205,000 to the National Iranian-American Council (NIAC), which has been a vocal advocate for the Iranian nuclear deal the Obama administration negotiated.
• I doubt that random Moroccan fertilizer companies suddenly performed random searches for charities of interest and just happened to settle upon both the Clinton Foundation and the McCain Institute.

Russia cancels meeting with American diplomat after US Treasury announces expanded sanctions
• Russia has condemned the new round of US sanctions as a “continuation of the trend set by the Obama administration aimed at ruining relations between our countries” and has promptly canceled a scheduled meeting of senior Russian and American diplomats. The US Treasury expanded the sanction list on Tuesday, adding 38 individuals and organizations over alleged Russian involvement in the Ukrainian crisis. Russia vowed to undertake “practical retaliatory measures” over the sanctions and canceled a scheduled meeting between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov and US Undersecretary of State Thomas Shannon. The two officials planned to discuss outstanding issues relating to Russia-US relations on June 23, but Washington’s new move has led Moscow to question the US’s integrity and its assertion that it wants dialogue with Russia. This demonstrates a “continuation of the trend set by the Obama administration aimed at ruining relations between our countries,” Ryabkov’s statement said Wednesday.
• “After yesterday’s decision on sanctions, the situation is not suitable for conducting a round of such dialogue, especially as there is not enough content for it, since Washington neither offered before, nor is offering now anything concrete in this area,” reads the statement.
• Sergey Peskov has meanwhile expressed his own “regret” over the new sanction policy itself, which he said persists in the US establishment, and also spoke of retaliatory measures based on the “principle of reciprocity.”
• “As the sanctions of several past years have shown, the main principle to react to sanctions, undoubtedly, is a principle of reciprocity. That’s quite understandable and clear. The sanctions were received with regret, regret about persisting focus on sanctions rhetoric, which is far from constructive approach, and, essentially, far from expression of a real political will to solve the problem which we have around Ukraine,” Peskov told reporters.
• The new batch of sanctions approved by the Senate, but still pending in the House of Representatives, has also been criticized by Germany and Austria.

House Republicans Block Russia Sanctions Bill
• Shortly after House Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady of Texas said that House leaders concluded that the legislation, S. 722, violated the origination clause of the Constitution, which requires legislation that raises revenue to originate in the House, and would require amendments,
• “House Republicans are considering using a procedural excuse to hide what they’re really doing: covering for a president who has been far too soft on Russia,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York said in a statement. “The Senate passed this bill on a strong bipartisan vote of 98-2, sending a powerful message to President Trump that he should not lift sanctions on Russia.”

• North Korea Ambassador to India Kye Chun-yong said Pyongyang is willing to talk in terms of freezing its nuclear and missile tests under certain circumstances. “If our demands is met, we can negotiate in terms of the moratorium of such as weapons testing,”

CNN Caught Faking News Again: Qatar Says News Agency Hacking Linked To Middle East, Not Russia
• CNN reported that they had managed to hack into a Qatari News Agency and post a ‘fake’ news story all in an apparent attempt to drive a wedge between the U.S., Qatar and some of it’s Gulf Arab neighbors.
• The FBI recently sent a team of investigators to Doha to help the Qatari government investigate the alleged hacking incident
• Intelligence gathered by the US security agencies indicates that Russian hackers were behind the intrusion first reported by the Qatari government
• The Russian goal appears to be to cause rifts among the US and its allies
.
• As it turns out, it’s somewhat ironic that CNN accused Russia of spreading “fake news stories” that “have turned up amid elections in France, Germany and other countries” because, as Reuters reports today, their entire Qatari hacking narrative was all fake news.
• According to reports from Qatar’s attorney general, it was an Arab neighbor state that severed ties with Doha (i.e. Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and/or the United Arab Emirates) that was responsible for the hacking of Qatar’s state news agency and not the Russians.

Okay... for those that are still thinking that RDS is the answer - and remember, he has been pushing for Trump to embrace his ideas of how to fix things. A large part of what RDS has been promoting is the people that are supposedly a part of his team, or at least those who he has promoted as being a part - Ron Paul, Cynthia Mckinney, Jill Stein, Dennis Kucinich, Jesse Ventura, Ralph Nader, etc..... many of which haven't said anything about RDS.

Previously, I come across what Ralph Nader has opinioned of Donald Trump... (not all that postive, imo)
And now, I've come across this recent interview with Cynthia McKinney... (same kind of feeling I get from this interview)... She does mention her relationship with Robert David Steele @46:28...

So what your article actually says he did was take government documents with him that he shouldnt have? I believe that is not actually what he said he did. If you re watch the testimony he told the person to give the content of the memo to the newspaper and not the document himself. So, it seems he wrote a memo as director, sent it to someone who had the need to know and then 'hoped' he would share the content with others but not the actual memo. As far as I recall, he did NOT take the memos with him after he was fired. He shared it with the person before he was fired when he knew it was coming.
The above article in Post #6 is not my article. It is a Judicial Watch article. Seems that Judicial Watch is not the only entity that wants a piece of James Comey. As the founder of Judicial Watch, Larry Klayman, has since founded another organization named Freedom Watch. Together with the person he is representing, Dennis Montgomery, they have filed a lawsuit against Comey. The lawsuit includes other Defendants, namely the CIA, FBI & NSA - James, Clapper, John Brennan... and... Oh look... Barrack Obama's name appears on the complaint...

Regardless of what you or I think, it really only matters what the courts will decide.

WASHINGTON, June 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Larry Klayman, the founder of both Judicial Watch and now Freedom Watch, and a former federal prosecutor, announced that he and his client whistleblower Dennis Montgomery have moved for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction in their lawsuit against former FBI Director James Comey, the FBI itself, and the NSA and CIA, among other defendants. The underlying lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia by Freedom Watch is styled Montgomery and Klayman v. Comey et. al, Civil Action Number 1:17-cv-01074 (RJL).

The case involves allegations that James Comey, in concert with the other defendants, buried an FBI investigation, caused by whistleblower Dennis Montgomery, a former NSA/CIA contractor, into mass illegal surveillance on not just President Trump, but the chief justice of the Supreme Court, other justices, 156 judges, and even Klayman. Montgomery came forward to Comey years ago with 47 hard drives containing classified information, under grant of immunity, and even was interviewed under oath by FBI agents Walter Giardina and William Barnett.

Despite this, the complaint and the motion alleges that Comey buried the investigation and thus obstructed justice, since as recently alleged and revealed by Circa News and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, the FBI was engaged in this illegal and unconstitutional surveillance under Comey, allegedly along with the intelligence agencies.

The motion for TRO and preliminary injunction filed late last night asks the court to order a temporary halt to this continuing illegal surveillance, as well as preserve the evidence which Montgomery provided to Comey and the FBI. The complaint and the motion can be found at www.freedomwatchusa.org.

Klayman had this to say:
"Having asked the intelligence and judiciary committees in Congress to investigate the alleged obstruction of justice, and their having not taken action to date, Mr. Montgomery and I, on behalf of ourselves had to take matters into our own legal hands. This mass surveillance, which threatens the privacy of all innocent Americans, must be ordered to cease forthwith, as it endangers our democracy and our republic."

McDonalds Is Replacing 2,500 Human Cashiers With Digital Kiosks: Here Is Its Math
• “Dear Bernie, Meet the “Big Mac ATM” That Will Replace All Of Your $15 Per Hour Fast Food Workers.”
• Digital ordering kiosks (shown above) will replace cashiers in at least 2,500 restaurants by the end of 2017 and another 3,000 over 2018. Cowen also cited plans for the restaurant chain to roll out mobile ordering across 14,000 U.S. locations by the end of 2017 (we did not show that particular math, but the logic was similarly compelling).

New Home Sales Rebound From April Collapse As Median Price Hits All Time High
• New home sales bounced in May to 610k (after plunging 11.4% in April, now revised to a 7.9% drop).
• For now affordability doesn’t matter…
• In fact, a closer look shows that home prices are exploding higher…this is the fastest 3-month spike in prices since Jan 2011… (and up 16.8% YoY)

New Home Sale Reporting Borders On Fake News
• New home sales represent about 10% of total home sales – i.e. the National Association of Realtors has about 9-times more homes for which to account than the Government. And yet, the monthly reporting of new home sales has considerably more variability and less statistical reliability. It is subject to much greater revisions than existing home sales. How is this even possible considering the task of tabulating new homes sold is far easier than counting existing home sales?
• Today’s report is a perfect example. The Census Bureau reports that new home sales increased 2.9% over April. Yet, at the 90% level of confidence, new home sales might have been anywhere from down 10% to up 15%. Care to place a wager on real number considering that spread? April’s number was revised upward by 24k, on a SAAR basis.
• To make matters worse, new home sales are based on contracts signed. Often a down payment, and almost always financing, are not yet in place. The contract cancellation percentage rate for new homes typically runs in the mid-to-high teens. By the way the Census Bureau does not incorporate cancellations into its data or its historical revisions.
• To demonstrate how the seasonal adjustments magically transform monthly data into many more thousands of annualized rate sales, consider this: the not seasonally adjusted number – which is presented at the bottom of the CB’s report and never discussed by the media or Wall Street, is 58,000. In increase of one thousand homes over April’s not adjusted number. And yet, the reported headline fake news number – the SAAR for May – wants us to believe that 610k homes were sold on an annualized rate basis, an increase of 17k SAAR over April. It’s nothing short of idiotic, especially considering that the reported average sales price was 10% higher in May vs. April.
• If today’s reported number is even remotely correct, how come homebuilders have been cutting back on housing starts for the last 3 months? The last time starts declined three consecutive months was late 2008. In short, the new home sales report for May is, in all probability, borderline fake news.

Credit-Card Debt Slaves Move to Top of Fed’s Bank Worries
• The comforting news in the results from the Federal Reserve’s annual stress test is that the largest 34 bank holding companies would all survive a recession.
• Based on this glorious accomplishment, the clamoring has already started for regulators to allow these banks to pay bigger dividends and to blow more money on share buybacks, and for these regulators to slash regulation on these banks and make their life easier and riskier in general.
• The less comforting news in the stress test is that credit card debt – generally the most expensive and risky debt for consumers – has now moved to the top of the Fed’s worry list in the “severely adverse scenario” of the stress test. The projected losses for the 34 largest banks – not counting the losses at the 4,997 smaller banks – are expected to hit $100 billion, up nearly 9% from the stress test a year ago.
• The projected losses rose for several reasons, including that credit card balances have grown by 5.6% from a year ago to over $1 trillion. The delinquency rate has risen to 2.4%. The Fed is also blaming looser lending standards.
• Sharing the top spot on the Fed’s worry list in the “severely adverse scenario” are Commercial & Industrial loans, whose balances are over twice as large, at $2.1 trillion, but whose projected losses are also pegged at $100 billion.
• In total, the “severely adverse scenario” sees $493 billion in losses for these 34 banks:
• After soaring over the past two years at a rate between 5% and 6.8% year-over-year, credit card balances now exceed $1 trillion, which is about where they’d been in May 2008 just before they blew up during the Great Recession:
• The problem with credit card debt is that there is no collateral. When consumers default and seek bankruptcy protection, recovery by banks may be low, and loss ratios tend to be large. So these things are risky for banks.

Fed’s Bullard says time for Fed to pause on interest-rate hikes
• The Federal Reserve can afford to stop raising short-term interest rates and wait and see how economic developments and Washington policy debates play out in coming quarters, said St. Louis Fed President James Bullard on Friday.
• “Many future developments could impact [the Fed’s] policy path, but the Fed does not need to pre-empt any of them,” Bullard said in a speech to a bankers convention in Nashville.
• Optimism about the economy has faded since March with economic data surprising to the downside, he noted.

The Fed Just Started Pulling the Plug on the Markets
• Global equity flows might have just peaked.
• Bull markets are driven by new capital: you need more money from more buyers to increase buying pressure so that stock prices rise.
• However, it looks as though globally investors are tapped out. After months of new capital pouring into the market, global equity fund inflows slowed dramatically in the last week.
• And not just a little… by a LOT.
• Source: Sober Look
• This is a MAJOR warning sign. Throw in the fact that the Fed is now both RAISING rates and DRAINING liquidity from the markets and there is the recipe for a serious market disruption to hit.
• Regarding that latter point…
• The Fed has now announced that rather than continuing reinvest the proceeds from its maturing debt securities, going forward every month it will let $10 billion ($6 billion in Treasuries and $4 billion in mortgage-backed securities) “come due” and NOT reinvest the money.
• Put another way, going forward the Fed will be withdrawing $10 billion in liquidity from the financial system every month.
• This amount will increase by another $10 billion next quarter (bringing the monthly withdrawal of liquidity to $20 billion in 4Q17) and another $10 billion the following quarter (bringing the monthly withdrawal of liquidity to $30 billion in 1Q18).
• Put simply, according to the current plan, the Fed will be:
1) Withdrawing $90 billion in liquidity in 2017 (three months of $10 billion per month and three months of $20 billion per month).
2) Withdrawing $510 billion in liquidity in 2018 (three months of $30 billion per month, three months of $40 billion per month, and six months of $50 billion per month).
• This marks the FIRST time in 8 years that the Fed will not be actively providing liquidity to the US markets. Will this mark the top for the latest stock market bubble?

• As more Democrats have started to question why former Attorney General Loretta Lynch was never investigated for obstruction following a suspicious meeting with former President Bill Clinton, it appears the Senate Judiciary Committee has finally decided to act.

• According to the Times, the investigation has bipartisan support.
“Sen. Charles E. Grassley, chairman of the committee, said the investigation is bipartisan. The letter to Ms. Lynch is signed by ranking Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein and also by Sens. Lindsey Graham and Sheldon Whitehouse, the chairman and ranking member of the key investigative subcommittee.”

“Letters also went to Clinton campaign staffer Amanda Renteria and Leonard Benardo and Gail Scovell at the Open Society Foundations. Mr. Benardo was reportedly on an email chain from the then-head of the Democratic National Committee suggesting Ms. Lynch had given assurances to Ms. Renteria, the campaign staffer, that the Clinton probe wouldn’t “go too far.”
• According to Comey, Lynch leaned on him to soften his language when discussing the investigation, asking him to refer to the probe as a “matter,” mirror language used by the campaign, instead of as “an investigation.”

Supreme Court Reinstates Trump Travel Ban from Muslim-Majority Countries

As it should have been allowed to stand until the case was heard.
The Supreme Court of the United States announced Monday that it will review the lower court injunctions blocking enforcement of President Donald Trump’s executive order barring travel from six Muslim-majority countries.

In a per curiam opinion, the Court announced it will consolidate the cases from the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Ninth and Fourth circuit, Trump v. Hawaii and Trump v. International Refugee Assistance Project, respectively. Both courts found the executive order unenforceable as a likely violation of the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment Establishment Clause because the lower courts held it was motivated by an intent to disfavor Islam.

Court partly reinstates Trump travel ban, fall arguments set
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court is letting a limited version of the Trump administration ban on travel from six mostly Muslim countries to take effect, a victory for President Donald Trump in the biggest legal controversy of his young presidency.

The court said Monday the ban on visitors from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen could be enforced as long as they lack a "credible claim of a bona fide relationship with a person or entity in the United States." The justices will hear arguments in the case in October.

Trump said last week that the ban would take effect 72 hours after being cleared by courts.

The Trump administration said the 90-day ban was needed to allow an internal review of the screening procedures for visa applicants from those countries. That review should be complete before Oct. 2, the first day the justices could hear arguments in their new term.

A 120-ban on refugees also is being allowed to take effect on a limited basis.

Three of the court's conservative justices said they would have let the complete bans take effect.

Justice Clarence Thomas, joined by Justices Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch, said the government has shown it is likely to succeed on the merits of the case, and that it will suffer irreparable harm with any interference. Thomas said the government's interest in preserving national security outweighs any hardship to people denied entry into the country.

The Genius of Trump’s Tweets
President Donald Trump frequently comes under criticism for tweeting, even from his own advisers. But tweeting is probably the smartest thing he has done as president. He is able to speak directly to the American people without going through the biased mainstream media filter. The media doesn’t get to ask him slanted questions or pick and choose parts of his press releases to publish. Instead, Trump gets immense control over every single sentence he issues, which are then read by millions of Americans.

NJ college: Professor fired
for racially insensitive remarks

Via Philly.com

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) – A New Jersey community college has fired an adjunct professor after officials say she made racially insensitive comments on Fox News.

Essex County College’s president announced the decision Friday, two weeks after Lisa Durden’s appeared on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

College officials said they received complaints about Durden’s interview with Carlson. Durden, who is black, discussed a Memorial Day event held exclusively for black people hosted by a Black Lives Matter group.

When Carlson asked her thoughts, Durden interrupted the host, saying: “Boo hoo hoo. You white people are angry because you couldn’t use your white privilege card” to attend the event.

The show aired June 6, and the school suspended Durden with pay two days later. She addressed the matter during a public meeting Tuesday with school officials, but was soon fired.

Essex County College President Anthony Munroe said the school “supports and affirms the right of free speech and independent views and expressions of those views” for faculty and staff. He also noted that although Durden did not mention her affiliation with the school during her television appearance or claim to be representing its views, “her employment with us and potential impact on students required our immediate review into what seemed to have become a very contentious and divisive issue.”

Durden has said the school “publicly lynched” her.

Durden told NJ.com on Friday that she has received a lot of support from school staff members and students, but compared her experience to a rape victim who is blamed for the crime, and a person who returns from war to a hostile environment.

Durden’s attorney, Leslie Farber, said she believes her client’s free speech rights were violated. Farber said they were considering whether to take legal action in the matter.

“I fully believe that institutions of higher learning must provide a safe space for students to explore, discuss and debate, not only academic philosophies, but the harder issues related to living harmoniously and growing together in our communities and as a country,” Munroe wrote in a statement announcing the firing. “The character of this institution mandates that we embrace diversity, inclusion, and unity. Racism cannot be fought with more racism.”
