How to improve website's ranking via Facebook and Twitter posts?

I am a beginner in the profession of web designing. I was planning to design an attractive website for a long time but couldn’t get any good idea. After thinking a lot I designed military website that provides complete information about Military Bases of US such as Fort Des Moines Army Base Des Moines, Iowa | US (militarybases.co/iowa) .

I worked hard the ranking of my site became very high but it is not on the first page of the Google. I promoted my website by creating articles and blogs with backlinks.

I want to know that how can I gain traffic to my military website by creating posts on Facebook and Twitter? We can gain a lot of traffic from Social Media for different websites but how can we bring traffic to the military websites.

Any help will be appreciated.

You can sponsor posts and pay to have a target audience see your posts. If you post is interesting enough it should drive traffic. It worked well recently with "taxation is theft" posts, driving a spike in the search term on Google also bringing a lot of traffic to liberty sites.
