Default Chinese Stealth Fighters, FOR SALE

Hey, America! China Has a Stealth Fighter Too -- And It's for Sale

    http://www.fool.com/investing/genera...oo-and-it.aspx

They might have acquired USA Stealth technology.
    https://www.csis.org/analysis/does-c...can-technology

I saw a documentary that showed satellite pics of a F-117 Stealth Fighter in China. They say one was lost in Syria but can only speculate if that's the one in the pics in China.

    Correction Yugoslavia not Syria.

so now the Chinese are making knock off stealth fighter planes ? bad enough they make knock off electronics.

Even if China did manage to reverse engineer the wreckage of a US stealth plane, I wouldn't find it shocking, or wrong, it just seems like what nations do. I imagine by the time one stealth plane rolls from the drawing plans table, to the production line, to finally taking flight, that someone some where is already planning the next plane to take its' place.

Kind of like computers, you can buy a new one today, but don't get too comfortable because it will be outdated by next year.

You made a couple good points. First I'd like to comment on the computer turnover time frame. I think it's more like every 6 months they are out dated.

next we need to take a look at the 'made in china', and say hmm, where did the F-22 come from. everything we get now days is made in China? ha.

U.S. Pilots Say New Chinese Stealth Fighter Could Become Equal of F-22, F-35

    https://news.usni.org/2014/11/05/u-s...qual-f-22-f-35

Quote from pilot. "“Overall at this stage they’re not [operational] so it’s hard, for anyone to truly make a reasonable assessment,” the test pilot said.

I cant see by pictures, or find anything on thrust vectoring either so??

Well looks like the Chines knock off doesn't compare at all to good old USA tech. No thrust vectoring and inferior engines.

Building airframes is easy in comparison to developing the engines. Russia is about 20 years behind the west, China more like 35. All Chinese high performance jet fighter programs are suffering from non availability of state of the art engines.

Thanks Builder, this is great information. I've always been fascinated with avionics since I was a kid but more so after I was privileged to get inside information of development of stealth tech and thrust vectoring ect. I had security clearance to work in classified departments in labs, research and testing of these things when I worked in the construction trades. One of the places I worked the scientists and experimental technicians seem to want to share what they were working on with me. Thrust vectoring, and suppressing and detection of acoustic sound signature and heat signature of the engines were some things they shared with me. They had me shut down my crew and all equipment. They set up a wall outside the building and pointed a series of microphones at the building. The building had holes for exhaust ports for the jet engines. Could hardly hear the engines run at all. Quite amazing.

Most of the parts in the computer you are using to write this message are made in China...

For those of you that own Harley Davidson's big % of parts on them are made in china, Mexico, Taiwan and now even Japan. However Japan makes quality parts. But point is you pay made in UsA prices for foreign parts when they can get away with it.

    So, "might be better"?

Do you have some specs to share to compare that might suggest this to be accurate?

It was tongue in cheek, it wasn't supposed to be accurate. Could the Chinese make a worse product than the f-35 already is? lol. If you are going to reverse engineer a plane - it probably shouldn't be that one ...

If some of the assumptions made in the thread I posted to are true ... then maybe this all part of the plan ....

I think the Chinese culture of corruption has something to do with inferior Chinese products. Many (most?) Chinese business people don't hesitate to use inferior parts to cut costs. Quality is not in their vocabulary at this point.

I wouldn't lump Russia's jet fighters in with the Chinese.
Russian jets are bad ass, and they have a certain practicality I find myself envying.

Russian jet fighters have no problem with debris on the runway, where as if so much as a bird gets sucked into the USA jet fighters it can compromise the engines. Russian jets are made to survive much more abuse, and they require much less maintenance. One Russian Fighter pilot stated he was invited to fly a USA jet via a pilot exchange program, and he couldn't believe it took two maintencance crew members a half hour just to buckle him in, where as in a Russian Jet, it's not much more than buckling yourself into a car requiring no help and taking just a few seconds.
