I personally dont see a problem with charging for in person conferences, books, dvds and like....but when people (especially David Wilcock) tell folks that they have NEW inside information that will only be available if you slap down your money...sorry, that's just wrong. You see it all the time....I could list quite a few well-known people in the alternate genre that do this. "We have all the secrets, and it could possibly save your life...it will only cost you a big wad of hard-earned cash...and then you too can be in the know!".

And I do agree with that. Lindsey Williams always does that too - he makes me laugh. Every time he goes on Rense or Alex Jones, it's a sales pitch.

I don't think this kind of information belongs to anyone. It's the heritage of the human race, and we are all messengers. I think we all have a duty to "pay it forwards".

But a conference, where there's added value by enabling people to listen to an interesting, entertaining and potentially educative conversation (which is in part what all conferences are) - in my view has to be fine to charge for. If people don't want to pay, or can't afford to, the core information is all available elsewhere.

Speaking of which Bill, I have wanted dto ask for a whiile now, but didn't feel it was polite, but here goes ( don't hate me?)

You have stated that you had a very well paying, well connected position in the corporate world. I have seen your videos and it appears that your abduction changed the game, but what exactly compelled you to give up the "good life" so to speak, to do this? I am not trying to sound sarcastic, this is an honest question. Thanks!

    Bill,

This kind of responsiveness is just one of the things i like so much about you. as disappointed as i was that i can't afford the conference (39 USD is about 2 weeks worth of groceries and market food here in Thailand) Thanks for continuing your style, and for your work.

Everyone has some sort of agenda, it seems to be the byproduct of having any kind of ego (which we all have) and i hear it in your voice, Kerry's interview style, Hoagland, Greer, et al. (Sepia's questions were not as helpful to me as your answers for example)

keep trucking, let us know if you need a southeast asian location for your truth and reconciliation committees :-)

I listened to the entire conference and felt that it was worth every cent/penny to have access to live presenters so that I could listen to the ideas and information (old and new) and see what resonated with me.

I consider a charge to cover costs not only for the actual conference but any residual put towards ongoing research as perfectly acceptable. I recoginise that individual researchers still need to pay rent for a roof over their heads and eat and quite frankly I consider that fretting about whether one conference is "better value for money" detracts us from what should be our common goal in helping disclosure the truth.

Quality presentations (the subject matter and not just the manner in which it is delivered) will always win over any cheap and tacky attempts to seduce people with slick marketing promising new "tit bits". One thing we should consider is that by demanding "new" or "exclusive" information each and everytime we listen to someone we fall into the trap of creating a corrupted consumerist driven alternative media market place. A "sales pitch" (however subtle) will always sound like a "sales pitch" and people should be able to recognise as such and it will do more damage to that presenter reputation than good.

A vast quantity of quality material is actually available for free and people can then decide for themselves whether they wish to donate to retrospectively assist with those production costs and then use their descretion to purchase future events/material.

People need to trust their instincts when looking to purchase conferences and books etc. and reflect on what resonates with them as an individual. Quality discussions between presenters and phone-in callers on even "old" information quite often draws out fresh perceptions and sometimes allows a few more dots to be joined.

Quite simply people have free will and if they feel "shortchanged" in any way they can choose not to repeat the experience. We should focus on the positive and trust that charlatans will eventually be flushed out one way or another and the people true of heart will be given the support they richly deserve to help each and everyone of us.

With all that said I will be watching a freebie Camelot/Avalon production from their library tonight! Love to all, Steven

I gave up my consultancy work in 2006, soon after founding Camelot with Kerry - simply so that I could work full-time on it. Not having a family or any real estate (no mortgage payments or other expenses) made it easy to travel light. I never looked back.

Ok, I will also take liberty at this time to ask a pointed question.

All the work you have done at Camelot has been given freely.
    All the interviews etc.
I see no adds on your pages.
Perhaps there are books but I have not noticed.
Icke sells books, does lectures, etc
    What do you do?

How do you make a living?
It may be obvious and I am just not seeing it.

I apologize if this seems rude, but I have always felt that such secrets on how people make their money were just more secrets.
Of course you do not have to answer.

Donations: it's not a secret, and never has been! Every website page on the original Camelot site has a PayPal button, and now all the Avalon videos have a little announcement at the end saying:

If this video was of value to you, please consider making a donation via PayPal on our site.

Then (next slide): Thank you...! Your generosity makes it possible for us to continue our work.

Not having a family (or a mortgage) makes this viable. My expenses are pretty low, and a very generous sponsor assisted with some of the travel and projects that I was engaged in last year (2010). It all just about works out. No-one's getting rich, but we can pay the rent and maintain the website expenses.

Thank you for your response, but I was looking for something deeper.... not the " what", but the "why". One can't go from selling the corporate agenda ( which is what a conflict resolution specialist does - he works for "the man"), to being a leader of the awakened overnight. What were your thought processes? How did your thinking evolve and change?

What makes you think I was 'selling the corporate agenda'?

For 25 years it was a way of working directly, intimately and intensively with human beings to transform their lives. I always worked for myself, and was always a consultant coming in to address particular problems or situations with individuals and teams.

I didn't care at all, ever, about the value of the company's stock. I did care when someone on one of my programs became a better father, daughter, husband, neighbor, or world citizen. Sometimes people would go back to work after a week on one of my programs and quit. I was working with people - not corporations.

The way the client corporations benefited was that if someone was a better person - they would also be a better manager, supervisor, problem solver, innovator, administrator, or team mate.

The answer always lies within. With everybody.

This has always been a thread through my life - ever since I was a child. Nothing ever changed. The game just got much larger when I started communicating on a global basis rather than to groups of 10 at a time.

    --------
This is an important post - for me personally. Many thanks for asking the question. Because it seems like a long time ago, nowadays I never think or talk about that long phase of my life.

I was always a radical. But I can see how an assumption can be made about my corporate affiliations. I assure you: there were none.

Like everything else I've ever done - including some very serious mountaineering, and a ton of personal and spiritual development - it all helped prepare me for what I find myself doing now.

The way everyone benefited was that if someone was not happy or suited to their job, it'd accelerate the natural process and then that person would leave. The more enlightened companies recognized that that was a good thing. (For less enlightened clients, I had to explain carefully!)

And if someone was a better person - they would also be a better manager, supervisor, problem solver, innovator, administrator, or team mate.

Sorry if I touched a nerve, but that was a very good and genuine response. I couldn't help but ask the question.... and your answer was cathartic for everyone. Thank you.

    Hello Bill,

I only discovered Camelot 18 months ago and have watched every single video I could get my hands on (for free) since then. My only question therefore is...why were all the Camelot videos (and subsequent Avalon videos) posted for free....yet the there was a charge for the teleconference?? I understand that "charging for it" was not your idea...and I even get the impression that you were likely personally against charging for it. It just seems to me that someone (not you) wanted to make money from it....which when comparing to the other Camelot / Avalon videos posted for free...seems to be a bit tainted. As I stated in one of my previous posts in this thread...I can fully understand charging an admission price to attend a conference in person (LA, Barcelona, Ecuador, etc)....but even those were posted for free afterwards. To charge for a teleconference (and to maintain a charge even after the fact)...goes against what Camelot / Avalon stood for (in my opinion anyways).

Not meaning for any of my comments to be offensive (quite the opposite). I have a VERY deep appreciation for what you bring to us.

    Peace...

    Hi Bill,
2 years ago , I heard the name of Scientology, I interested in the subject and did contact with them.
First e-mail shocked me with it's content . I thought, I was in the amazon web page. then I lost all of my interest.
Around same time, I met with project Camelot.
My first inspiration about your journey partner was an eager enterpriser.
Later, I observed a child with enthusiastic mood at the double interviewers with one guest videos.
I know money is the issue at the life circus.
I need to work to support my family even though, I do not want to be a slave.
If money comes to obstruct to learning new ideas then where is the border line between awakening movement and elites?

Give up the 'good life'? (snort) Bill is now living the good life. He quit his 'job' (although working for yourself is a lifestyle not a 'job' exactly but you find you work alot harder when you are out on your own.

If anybody thinks Bill has somehow 'given up' anything kinda misses the point. He has freed himself. He is obviously guided by his inner self, not the dollar that most people chase everyday thinking they are getting ahead.
Bill loves what he is doing. It is obvious when you watch and listen to him. And he is inspiring one heck of alot of people as he does it too.

I want to say something but I can't find the right words ! I for one don't like to see people who have helped me gain an emense amount of knowledge about this world as well as advance my spirituality in leaps and bounds, to have to ask for money for what they do. They have taught me more about the world in the last 6 months, than all my years at school and family upbringing put together. They have never meet me. They don't know me at all and still they were happy to share it all with me for free. Um! Now I am trying to think of the last time someone gave something to me for free, totally free with no strings attached................. Still thinking...............still thinking.............. I'm 52 now so surely someone somewhere gave me something for free? I'll have to get back to you on that one cause everytime I remember something it comes with strings attached. The point I am trying to make is that, Bill, Kerry, and some of the others have given us their time and energy freely and we have glady accepted it. Sometimes a thank you is just not enough. To the ones that have their wallets glued shut with alridite. When was the last time you did something for someone for free without them knowing it was you? Maybe it's time we all took a leaft out of their books so to speak and do the same. To me it is a no branier. Show them that you appreciate them in a way that counts.
