A teenager armed with two swords is holding six young children hostage at a nursery in Besancon, eastern France.The 17-year-old originally took around 20 children and their teacher hostage just after the Charles Fourier pre-school opened.

But he later released 14 of the infants, who are said to be aged between four and six years old.

Besancon mayor Jean-Louis Fousseret told French Info radio: "Around 14 children have come out and at the moment there are still five or six inside."

When the biggest role model of society, our own combined efforts, the government, chooses to resolve situations using conflict, how can we ever tell a 17 year old child not to do as we do.

That or a teenage who's crying out for help with nobody to listen to him. Each one equally tragic.

He has been reported to have "psychological problems" even though he wasn't known to medical services some journals say he was on heavy medication, apparently paraphrasing what the mayor of Besançon said, but his mother was reported to have said "he was slightly depressive, but a very nice, gentle and intelligent child" and the teacher has reportedly said that she did not feel "in danger" at any moment of the hostage situation. Apparently the kid was trying to get hold of an handgun to shoot himself...

Yes it is reminiscent of that they are getting younger are they not, time to go back to the beginning.
It's is sad that they feel they would need to use children.
