    Default September 2016...Watch the Tropics!!

    Hello Avalon members!

September 2016 is dawning upon the world, and this month brings a unique hurricane-and-typhoon-favoring sequence of risk dates which last all month long. This month is what I call the "9 Year" September, basically the 9th month in a year that numerologically adds up to NINE (2016 = 2+0+1+6). Almost every time this month rolls around during a 9 Year, the Tropics get very active, and in particular, bring nasty and historic hurricane and typhoon disasters. '9' Years as a whole tend to be big hurricane years, as well as big typhoon & cyclone years, and the months of August through November tend to get amped up considerably during these '9' years of Numerology. We may see a "repeat" of years like 2007, 1998, 1989 and etc. (All big hurricane & storm years during August - November time). We could also see something new, 2016 style...heck we already have a Tropical Storm Hermine in the Gulf of Mexico, Hurricane Gaston in the Atlantic, and a Category 1 Hurricane Madeline and Category 3 Hurricane Lester bearing down on Hawaii on this 1st of September!! Well folks, this is the Rat's scoop on what September may bring...and this one is lumped into one big risk period:

    September 1-30

Most Likely Scenario: One or More Major Hurricanes /Typhoons, or Tropical Storms could develop and wreak havoc on several parts of the northern hemisphere this month, likely causing major damage and could be responsible for also provoking Scenario 2 (floods) and scenario 3 (tornadoes/ severe weather). All the dates of September 1st-30th, 2016 are among the most risky for hurricane and typhoon landfalls in this whole decade, and are this way because of the Numerology behind this month's dates, featuring 9's in the month and the year, which cause repeating numbers on all of September 2016's days that can mean powerful events and disasters...I know this may seem weird and confusing to many of you, but it helps explain why so many years, of Numerology #9 and also 9 years apart have brought major hurricane disasters in cycles throughout history. 'Recent' years reflecting this pattern are: 1926, 1935, 1944, then 1989, 1998, 2007, there were many big ones in Septembers of those years, more than just a fair share. Not all years of this type have tropical cyclone disasters in September, but nearly half have! This means there's a roughly 50% chance that September 2016 will feature a MAJOR HURRICANE/ TYPHOON LANDFALL. This may be no coincidence, and the answer may simply lie in the odd numerology seen in these special months. Keep a very close eye on the tropics this month to see whether a threat materializes and to see where it could go. We already have several storms active at once, and one is threatening the Eastern US and the other Hawaii as we speak. Both major typhoons and hurricanes are equally likely during this time, so watch the West Pacific (including China and the Philippines) and Western Atlantic, Caribbean/ Gulf of Mexico the closest. The Eastern Pacific's hurricanes would normally move away from land this time of year, therefore lessening the risk along Mexico, but this may change towards Late September when hurricanes could recurve into Mexico. The bottom line is: Lots of historic September hurricanes have struck land in the northern hemisphere, particularly areas along the Western Atlantic, in years past that had this specific type of Numerology which repeats every 9 years. The next such month will be September 2025.

2nd Likely Scenario: A Major Flooding Event or Disaster could happen during this time frame as well, most likely caused by the tropical storm activity mentioned in Scenario 1, or caused by severe thunderstorms mainly in parts of the Northern Hemisphere and Australia/ South America. Tropical Storm Hermine in the Gulf of Mexico today might just be the start of a major flood event in much of the eastern US from September 2-8. Other world areas also have this kind of flood threat later this month, especially in the West Pacific. Places that were hard hit in July and August by floods could continue to be affected during this month, including portions of the Mid-Atlantic US region and China. Watch the weather closely during this time if your region is under the gun for flooding rains or tropical storms/ hurricanes or typhoons. The US Gulf Coast near Louisiana and Western Florida are particularly at risk this month, especially since they already received disastrous floods in August, and any tropical storm-induced rain could easily prove disastrous over there. Mexico & Central America may also be a big flood watch area, especially if a Hurricane plows into the area later this month. Most flood disasters this September will likely result from the influence of tropical storms, hurricanes and typhoons. There is great potential for weeks-long floods and river flood disasters during this extremely dangerous month-long risk period.

3rd Possible Scenario: A series of Severe Weather Events could also be in store during this time. This event, or events, could be a result of a powerful late summer or early fall storm systems, which may spark strong thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind, floods, hail and even some tornadoes in parts of middle-latitude areas of the northern hemisphere, like the North-Central & North-Eastern U.S. and Western Europe, Northern Asia. The main disasters to watch out for during this potential Severe Weather scenario will be again Damaging Winds, Hail, Flash Floods and even Isolated Tornadoes. Of important note, considering the high probability of seeing a hurricane or tropical storm landfall during this period, look out for tornadoes in areas where a hurricane/ tropical storm makes landfall, because the storm's rain bands are well known for sparking damaging twisters away from the storm's center. This happened with many storms in years past, such as 2004's Hurricane Ivan and its 100+ tornadoes along the Gulf Coast. The current Tropical Storm Hermine may be a big player in the first part of September, likely bringing rough weather from Florida all the way north to the Mid Atlantic and Northeast US. Watch any world areas predicted to see tropical storm/ hurricane strikes or heavy Summer storms prior to or during these dates.

4th Possible Scenario: A Major Earthquake could still occur during this time as well, especially during September 1-4, September 17-18, and September 25-30... possibly attaining Magnitude 7.0 - 8.0 and causing severe impacts. This quake scenario is still worth mentioning even though the weather scenarios appear much likelier this month, because if it were to occur, it could be particularly damaging and a small to medium sized Tsunami cannot be ruled out if the epicenter is at sea or near the coast. The very start and end of September is the riskiest time window for a severe earthquake this time around, and also 9/17-9/18 because they're the most powerful risk dates of the month, and may bring quakes in addition to tropical trouble. Watch the earthquake zones and areas recently seeing earthquake activity closely, just in case.

Extreme Risk: The chance for any of these natural disaster scenarios to strike during this major risk period is 60 percent, with a 40 percent risk that the event will have severe impacts.

The Breakdown: Here follows a date-specific look showcasing exactly when we could see certain events, along with the main areas to watch for each of the possible events!:

Tropical Storms, Hurricanes, and Typhoons: All of September...September 1-4, September 5-8, September 9-10, September 11-19, September 20-24, September 25-30.

September typically is the peak season for tropical cyclones in the Northern Hemisphere, and this one could be particularly very eventful! Hurricane activity will likely be very high in the Atlantic, as well as both in the Eastern and Western Pacific. Typhoons and East Pacific Hurricanes will become frequent this month, and land-threatening typhoons could be a big issue anytime this month. The Atlantic could witness several storms form and some could strike land severely. In fact, as I write this on this morning of September 1st, a brand new Tropical Storm Hermine developed in the Gulf of Mexico and is headed to the west coast of Florida. This storm might get to be a category 1 hurricane prior to its September 2-3 landfall, and could cause severe flooding. Unfortunately, this might just be the beginning, since the month is fair game for more storms and some could be very powerful major hurricanes/ typhoons. Main Areas to Watch: Locations that should be on the lookout include the West Pacific, Central and East Pacific (Philippines, Taiwan, China, Hawaii, Mexico, Central America), which could see increased tropical storm activity, AND The western Atlantic Ocean with emphasis on the Gulf of Mexico, Central America, East US Coast and Caribbean. Anywhere from Texas to Florida to New York, the Bahamas and southeast to the Lesser Antilles must be on watch. This entire month could be very active and we may see at least TWO big threats come from either the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean or Atlantic waters near the eastern Caribbean Islands. Major typhoons will also be a concern, especially for the Philippines, Taiwan, China and Japan. Rare activity in the Indian Ocean cannot be ruled out either.

    Floods and Landslides: All of September...September 1-4, September 5-8, September 9-14, September 15-19, September 20-24, September 25-30.

This month is highly risky for Flooding and Flash Flooding disasters as well as Landslide events caused by heavy rains, quite possibly resulting from tropical storm activity or major late summer storms in Temperate latitudes of the northern hemisphere. September 2016 could continue the flood threat across several regions impacted in August, and will introduce much more flood potential to regions in the tropics experiencing an influx of tropical storm activity. The Gulf Coast must be on high alert this month, any tropical storm or hurricane making it to Louisiana or near this region could be especially catastrophic! Main Areas to Watch: Watch areas experiencing heavy rainfall, tropical storms, or severe weather, especially on or near large river basins and/or near hilly regions. The Gulf Coast States of the US AND the Pacific region of East and Southeast Asia (Philippines, Taiwan, China & Japan) are at highest risk for this type of disaster, closely followed by Central America, Mexico, the Caribbean Islands and Central Africa in 2nd place, especially if tropical waves and storms affect land in these regions. Thirdly, watch the Eastern US and Western Europe in case a tropical system makes it to shore, or simply Summer rains get out of hand, the way they did in some areas back in July. Also keep a close eye on any other world regions about to experience a major weather event during these upcoming days, since prolonged heavy rains can lead to bad floods and mudslide/ landslides.

    Severe Weather & Tornadoes: September 2-8, September 11-12, September 17-18, September 20-24, September 25-30.

Severe Weather and a few Tornadoes are still possible event scenarios for this month. The North-Central US, Midwestern US, Southern Canada, and Northeast/ Mid-Atlantic US will be particularly at risk for severe storms this month, many of which could have damaging winds and cause flash floods. A few strong tornadoes are still possible this month, especially in areas experiencing the clash between warm & moist air VS cool, dry air along early Autumn cold fronts brought in by storm systems. Further south, the Gulf Coast states will be at risk for tornadoes resulting from rotation dynamics coming from land-impacting tropical storms or hurricanes. Typhoons may have similar effects in China and Japan. Main Areas to Watch: keep eyes primarily on the North-Central U.S. (including the Plains States), the Midwestern U.S., Northeastern & Mid-Atlantic US in first place. The American Gulf Coast, as well as East Asia is in 2nd place for this possible severe weather. Western Europe is the #3 world region to watch, which may see severe weather resulting from decaying hurricanes coming ashore as strong mid-latitude storm systems. Also keep eyes on any other areas experiencing tropical storm/ hurricane landfalls due to tornado threats coming from the storm's rotating rain bands. This September in particular, could be fairly active for severe weather and tornadoes, especially with the high risk of tropical storm activity raising chances even more.

    Earthquakes: September 1-4, September 5-8, September 11-12, September 15-19, September 25-30.

Earthquake magnitudes are likely to be above M 6.5 on the more earthquake-favoring dates in red and orange, with possibly significant impacts occurring if earthquakes indeed become the manifested events this month. September 2016 appears to be average-looking when it comes to earthquake potential, especially since this month is primed for wacky tropical mayhem. We could still see a few strong Magnitude 6.0 to 6.5 quakes, however, and perhaps one Magnitude 7.0 - 8.0 quake, sometime this month, especially during the most intense days of this month. There is some chance that September 2016 could end with a major earthquake. *Important note...all dates mentioned here under 'earthquakes' have the potential for seeing Magnitude 6.0+ quakes, which could all result in some sort of impact. Watch out for a possible tsunami in case one of the quakes surpasses M 7.0 and has the epicenter at sea. Main Areas to Watch: The Mediterranean, including Italy and Greece, especially due to recent severe earthquake activity in August. The Pacific Ring of Fire should also be monitored as usual; mainly along Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia and Indonesia/Polynesia, as well as the western coasts of the Americas, particularly South America this month, and also towards the South Atlantic, which saw significant quakes in August. A major 7.7 quake struck in the middle of the NW Pacific (Mariana Islands) on July 29, and this could lead to another strong shaker in this world region this month and the following 2 months, so East Asia, Japan and the Philippines could be another main region to watch. Also, watch the Caribbean region, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, the Middle East, and parts of inland "Eurasia" just in case. Basically, watch any regions experiencing recent strong earthquake activity such as Italy, Myanmar & the South Atlantic.

*The Month's Most Intense Risk Days are: September 17-18 in first place, followed by September 5-6 & September 11-12 in second place. Third place is held by September 25-30.*

    The Month at a Glance:

September 2016 is a special case month that is primed for bringing several tropical storm and hurricane/typhoon impacts. The month is essentially a month-long risk period that starts on the 1st and ends on the 30th, courtesy of the unusual numerology found within the 9th month in a Numerology #9 year that amps up the risk for disasters on all this month's dates. This month's possible disasters should manifest in the same way most prior #9 years have, with mostly severe FLOODS and TROPICAL CYCLONES (meaning anything from Tropical Storms to Hurricanes and Typhoons, depending on world regions). The risk for witnessing at least one major natural disaster this month is around 60%, and this will most likely be a nasty hurricane or typhoon. Earthquakes are not out of the question either, but might be overshadowed by powerful hurricane or typhoon events. Only a few Number 9 Year Septembers haven't brought significant tropical trouble, so the stakes are high this month in several parts of the Northern Hemisphere. Overall, expect September 2016 to be an active and perhaps historic weather month, yet a fairly average one when it comes to earthquake and other land-related events. Expect 2 to 3 notable natural disasters this month, of which 1 to 2 could result in major/severe impacts. We may expect 2 of the events to be weather-related, likely tropical in nature, and the other 1 event to possibly be an earthquake-related or volcanic event. Hurricanes/ Typhoons, Tropical Storms, Tornadoes and Major Floods are this month's main dangers.

Well folks, that's how this month is looking, please stay tuned to your local news if nasty weather comes your way! Updates will be posted as necessary! If you would like to see my original colored version and formatted prediction for this month, feel free to check it out here:

That was quick! Good thing nothing bad resulted from the earthquake. Now that the quake struck down there, the area surrounding northern NZ, Vanuatu, PNG and even Indonesia should lookout for a follow-up earthquake to this one, which could also be Mw 7.0+. The next major quake risk days would be September 5-6, Sept 17-18, and Sept 29-30.

Most likely we will see a nasty tropical storm or hurricane/ typhoon threaten land in the coming week or 2.

My predictions for this type of month might be fairly conservative, and it is possible we will see all 4 scenarios play out this month, with some even repeating. That's the challenge when the whole month appears fair game for natural disaster events. There may also be other kinds of natural disasters not mentioned in the 4 most likely scenarios for the month. Overall though, I think the main action will come from tropical threats, including a potentially powerful hurricane.

    UPDATE...9/11/16.
MAJOR TYPHOON HEADING FOR TAIWAN, CHINA.

Dangerous Typhoon Meranti in the western Pacific is gathering strength today and is becoming a major threat to Taiwan and Southeast China! This storm is looking like it could be of major category, possibly even Cat 4 or 5, due to make landfall around Sept 15.

There is a good thread following this storm in the link below...feel free to check often:

Things have taken a turn for the worst:

    Live Loop:

    https://weather.com/storms/typhoon/n...eranti-sep2016

185 MPH SUPER-TYPHOON MERANTI BARRELING TOWARDS TAIWAN, CHINA...Landfall projected for Thursday 9/15 in China, could brush Southern Taiwan later today and tomorrow. How long will this storm stay this strong? Hopefully it has peaked and weakens soon before it strikes land. If this doesn't do that, we could be witnessing a major disaster in the making.

A snapshot of the eye of this 185 mph monster at its peak earlier as it struck the small islands to the north of The Philippines:

Looking back on last week's Monster typhoon Meranti, it was an incredible storm alright, easily one of the strongest tropical cyclones in modern world history! Only 2013's Haiyan was significantly more powerful. Incredibly enough, the silver lining in this case was that NO DEATHS (human, at least) were reported from the island of Itbayat (the island seen in the middle of the typhoon's eye)!!! Truly miraculous. As for damage, well that was a completely different story...nearly complete devastation, with trees and woodlands destroyed, livestock killed and most buildings damaged or destroyed. Only storm shelters fared well, the main reason the islanders survived this storm. See the below image and video to witness what might be one of the all-time most impressive satellite views of a hurricane/typhoon:

THIS is what a '9 Year September' was capable of bringing Earth!!! Thank goodness this didn't strike a more populated area while it was at its 185 MPH peak! On the other hand, Taiwan was affected somewhat by this typhoon and a second one, named Malakas, which went on to hit Japan yesterday as a Cat 1. Japan has been hit by 4 lower strength typhoons this month alone!

UPDATE...9/29/16...YET ANOTHER EVENT TIED TO THE 9 YEAR SEPTEMBER...CAT 4 TYPHOON MEGI SLAMS TAIWAN ON 9/27/2016. 3RD MAJOR STORM TO STRIKE THE ISLAND NATION THIS MONTH ALONE.

Massive Typhoon Megi, the equivalent of a Category 4 Hurricane, slammed Taiwan yet again on Sept 27, 2016...a "9,9,9,9" numerology type date extremely prone to tropical cyclone disasters! This was a perfect example of what goes on during the '9 Year September', and the storm hit a highly populated region of Taiwan, causing massive impacts and set the stage for some of the decade's most intense hurricane/typhoon footage caught on camera by many residents as well as pro storm chasers. Check out the following video which compiled several clips of this ravaging storm:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8yu2-O-120

Absolutely mind-blowing stuff! Why was this date the one? well it was one of the 3 main Numerology highlights of Sept 2016, the other days being Sept 9 and Sept 18.
    9/27/2016 broken down gives this:

    Day 27 in Numerology is '9'...2+7 = 9.
    Month + Day is also a '9', since 9/27 is 9+27 = 36, in which then 3+6 = 9.
    Year is '9'...2+0+1+6 = 9.
    The whole date number for 9/27/2016 is again a '9'.....9+27+2016 = 2052...2+0+5+2 = 9.

Overall the date has four 9's in its Numerology, this only occurs three times every 9 years during September of the '9' year. This date was ripe for Megi's historic landfall, becoming one of Taiwan's worst typhoons in modern history. This same "9,9,9,9" was present on September 18, 1926 when The Great Miami Hurricane devastated South Florida with 150 MPH winds. Megi had 135 MPH winds. Food for thought my friends! Let's hope for the best in the affected regions' road to recovery!

Monster Waves as Megi made landfall in Taiwan:

On a side note: Tropical Storm Matthew has also formed as it enters the Caribbean en route towards Jamaica, Cuba and possibly the US...could be a huge player for October's predictions. More info on Matthew will be posted in October's thread a few days from now. We may see some impacts from this storm in the Lesser Antilles today and tomorrow as we round out September with yet another tropical system!

MATTHEW now a Category 4 Hurricane...big trouble ahead! This one will be a big player in October's thread...which i'll try to have up this weekend. Just finished my video for Oct-Nov if anyone wishes to see it later today! To give you all a heads up, the next big risk period is October 5-10, and I think this is when Matthew will come into Play. Looks like Cuba and Bahamas will be hit by 10/6. Florida and the East Coast must pay attention to this storm, especially concerning October 7-8, which happen to be the strongest risk days that period. We may see a big hurricane coming north out of the Caribbean folks!

Amazing to see how this thing used the dead last September day to pull this off, wow!
