Default ‘US is defending ISIS’: Russia convenes UNSC meeting after US coalition strike on Syrian army

Looks like someone's got a little explaining to do after "looking into it"...two days before historic US-Russian cooperation, two F-16s and two A-10s committed an act near Deir ez Zor, which so far, has posted one of the most heroic defenses known to man, completely besieged and attacked daily for years:

    https://www.rt.com/news/359686-un-se...rgent-meeting/

Moscow has called an urgent UN Security Council meeting after US-led coalition hit Syrian forces, killing 62 soldiers and wounding 100 more. The Russian FM spokeswoman blasted Washington over the indiscriminate airstrike that she said serves the interests of ISIS terrorists.

“If previously we had suspicions that Al-Nusra Front is protected this way, now, after today's airstrikes on the Syrian army we come to a really terrifying conclusion for the entire world: The White House is defending IS [Islamic State, formerly ISIS/ISIL]," Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Rossiya 24.

“We demand a full and detailed explanation from Washington. That explanation must be given at the UN Security Council,” Zakharova added.

The Foreign Ministry has demanded full and detailed explanation from Washington over the incident in Deir ez-Zor, in which 62 Syrian troops were killed and over 100 injured.

Moscow stressed that it is concerned by the US airstrike targeting the Syrian army units which had been destroying Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) militants.

The ministry added that the Russian side had never been notified of US plans to carry out bombings in the Deir ez-Zor area.

"Immediately after the airstrike by coalition planes, Islamic State militants launched their offensive,” said the chief of the Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria, Lieutenant General Vladimir Savchenko. He added that the Russian air force intervened immediately to halt terrorist advances and have conducted at least 10 airstrikes on Islamists’ positions since 7:00pm local time.

“[US coalition] strikes have cleared the way for ISIS fighters to take over Deir ez-Zor city now,” confirmed Syrian Minister of Defense Fahd Jassem al-Freij. “It is only because of Russian Air Force support [that] the offensive of the terrorist group was stopped. We request that the air support for the Syrian armed forces be continued by the Russian air force in order to destroy the terrorists.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that US air strikes against Syrian government forces jeopardize the Syrian ceasefire deal reached between Moscow and Washington on September 9.

Earlier on Saturday Russia’s Defense Ministry said that four strikes against Syrian positions had been delivered by US-led coalition aircraft – two F-16 jet fighters and two A-10 support aircraft.

The Syrian military called the bombing a “serious and blatant aggression” against Syrian forces, and said it was "conclusive evidence" that the US and its allies support IS militants.

US Central Command later issued a statement, saying that the US-led “coalition would not intentionally strike a known Syrian military unit.” It promised to look into the incident.

However, an unnamed US military official told Reuters that he was "pretty sure" that the targets hit in US-led coalition air strike on Saturday had been Syrian forces.

According to the official, the bombings in Deir ez-Zor were carried out using US intelligence, which was being gathered for days. The US attack stopped as soon as Russia notified the American side that they had been hitting the Syrian military, the source added.

A senior Obama administration official told AP that the United States expressed “regret” for the unintentional loss of lives of Syrian forces, with the message to Damascus allegedly having been relayed through Russia. The official, who requested anonymity, added that the US will continue to pursue compliance with the ceasefire previously agreed upon with Russia.

I find it interesting that there was a explosion in NY today which is all over the news, completely over shadowing the bombing in Syria.
It smells like a last min. improvised distraction, with no casualties but yet it completely dominates the news.

Maybe I'm paranoid, but the NY bombs seem to come at a perfect time to divert attention away from this Syrian thing.

The NY bombs literally pushed the Syrian story away from the headline in the most read online news website in the Netherlands.
Now the US attack on Syrian forces scandal is not to be found on the front page even.

This ties into another incident from yesterday it is confusing on the Turkish / US
Kurdish region coming into conflict with other groups some US/Saudi backed and
the Syrian Arab Army backed by Russia.

American troops flee Syrian town after threats from US-backed rebels

    Published on 16 Sep 2016

US Special Forces commandos were forced to withdraw from the town of al-Rai on
Syria’s border with Turkey after threats from the Free Syrian Army (FSA), a
moderate US-backed rebel group. RT correspondent Lizzie Phelan has the story.

‘Syrian rebels using ceasefire to gain better battlefield positions’ – fmr Pentagon official

    Published on 15 Sep 2016
Russia and the United States are pointing fingers at each other as shelling
continues in Syria despite it being three days since a ceasefire went into effect. To
discuss the dynamics in Syria, former Pentagon official Michael Maloof joins RT
America’s Manila Chan and says, “Syrian rebels are using the ceasefire to gain
better battlefield positions” and that the humanitarian aid promised is “not really
    rolling in.”

Syria conflict: US air strikes 'kill dozens of government troops'

Fighters of so-called Islamic State in Deir al-Zour, where they have been battling Syrian troops

The US-led coalition has admitted its planes carried out an attack in eastern Syria that
the Russian army says killed at least 62 Syrian troops fighting IS.The US said its planes
had halted the attack in Deir al-Zour when informed of the Syrian presence.

A spokesman for the US administration expressed "regret" for the "unintentional loss of life".
The attack caused a bitter row between the US and Russia at the United Nations Security Council.

US envoy Samantha Power accused Russia of "pulling a stunt" by calling an emergency meeting
    of the council.

Is it déjà vu all over again? Russia and the U.S. have brokered another ceasefire to stop
hostilities in Syria. But can these two parties ensure their allies and proxies commit to
the deal? Are the Pentagon and the State Department on the same page? And what
    about fighting terrorist groups?

Default Re: ‘US is defending ISIS’: Russia convenes UNSC meeting after US coalition strike on Syrian army

    Interesting take from Jim Stone:

"I hate to say it, but it looks like there might be war with Russia

The pipe bombs on the East Coast, the mall attack which was first announced as having happened in Canada and then got moved to Minnesota, and a damning airstrike in Syria sure add up to it.
UPDATE: Russia backed down, stating a U.S. airstrike in Syria was "on the edge between gross negligence and direct assistance to Islamic State terrorists." That is a lot cooler than what they were saying last night, and indicates to me that Russia would rather back down than go into a larger war over it.

Now that Hillary is toast, they have to get the war going with Obama instead. Clearly Hillary is 100 percent fake now, regardless of how they try to front her because once you glitch your computer generated image of her, her illusion is not coming back. I see the recent events as being directly tied to Hillary being toast one way or another.

    1. Here is how it all started: Hillary got arrested last Sunday (if not arrested, incapacitated) and they blue screened her in North Carolina, no ifs or buts. Even the trolls are admitting it was blue screen now because of the glitches, which they can't argue against in any way whatsoever, so their fall back is that Yes it was blue screen why does that matter? Well, it matters BIG TIME in the real world.
    2. With Hillary no longer available in the real world to kick off world war 3, the U.S. openly attacked Syrian troops and killed between 62 and 200 of them (reports vary), along with a few Russians, possibly to get the war going early while Barack Obama is still in power because they know Trump won't start a war.

    3. As a result of the attacks, Russia has gone to the U.N. stating in unambiguous terms that ISIS is a defacto branch of the U.S. military.

    4. The United States pulled out of the U.N. security council over the comments by Russia, which would be done as a precursor to war. CNN blacked out over this.

    5. To squelch all sympathy for Muslims in the run up to a huge war, a rash of pipe bombings in the name of Islam were set off on the East coast, and a gasoline pipeline was probably attacked as well. Additionally, a stabbing attack at a mall which was first reported as happening in Canada got moved to Minnesota.

    6. NOT A HOAX AS TROLLS ARE SAYING: "Russia is demanding a full and detailed explanation for the attacks on its forces in Syria from Washington, along with an explanation for the U.S. supporting ISIS. That explanation must be given at the UN Security Council."

Rather than give an explanation, Samantha Powers instead opted to insult Russia, which triggered a walk out.
So things got interesting. They even did a machete attack at a mall in Canada to frame up Muslims. UPDATE: They moved this to Minnesota. It is all fake. Pipe bombs here, machetes there, and let's all wait for act 3. If they are willing to CG hillary, they are willing to go the extra lap for anything.

All of this is, as I see it, probably a jump start to war after Hillary was eliminated for one reason or another at the 911 ceremony. They have to get it done before Trump gets in. They tried desperately to take Trump out by saying Trump poisoned her, but that was a laugh that did not fly. So now we have this.

And by the way, it is not Trump +7, it is Trump 90/10. They are still faking it, which means they have not given up yet".

    Regards.

Citizen no2, it actually might be grosse negligence, in a sense. Apparently the covert agencies, military apparatus and deep state are so freaking weird, large, complicated, multi-agenda-ed, and out of synch, the defence department is supporting one side and covert operations are supporting the other.

The American empire appears to be literally coming apart at the seams. It's not simply its brute strength other nations fear. At this point it might be like avoiding an 800 lb crazy person, off his meds, lurching down the street. Scary

Some other countries seem to have admitted it: the strike in question was assisted by UK & Australia (drones, I think) and Denmark (two more F-16s).

None of their presence in Syria is exactly legal. ISIS/Daesh did manage to overrun the bombed positions, but they lost it again after a few hours. So although there was a lot of human carnage, it had no effect on the situation on the ground.

We can understand some amount of "collateral damage", but, as with the 9/11 attacks, the...utter failure...of supposedly the most advanced air defenses in the world, makes no sense. Again, the Russian side has a direct response backed with evidence, the U. S. only comes up with droll statements backed by nothing, usually with insults and accusations heaped on top.

The U. S. bailed from the security council? U. N. will probably do nothing, but it amounts to a high degree of exposure to mostly...the rest of the world, while the domestic population will foment over a few pipe bombs.

Operations were launched from Iraq, where the U. S. is not especially welcomed, and under threat by at least one militia. That is true they were shooed out of Al-Rai after some kind of incident. Twelve or fourteen "advisors" remain trapped in Aleppo.
