So when do we leave for Prague? I hear the winters are nice there. Seriously, thanks for the interesting article. Why don't they use metal detectors? or ground penetrating radar?

Someone in the comments said "How can they know they are close to finding it, if they dont know where it is?"

the Nazis were too clever and smart to leave any treasures near the Skoda works outside of Prague (where their most secret technologies were being developed and subsequently freighted away before the end of WW2)-

read Joseph Farrell for more info on this subject (just for starters)

As far as i know most of the gold was kept in Swiss banks and these banks kept quiet after the war and thus effectively stole it. Small wonder why Hitler never even planned an attaque on Switzerland. Furthermore american soldiers discovered some 200 wooden crates inside tunnels in a mountain in Germany filled with gold teeth and rings taken from concentration camps victims (can't remember where i saw these pics) and allegedly this gold was taken by american gouvernement or banks in America as spoils of war.
The Netherlands, Belgium and Spain transferred part of their goldreserves to Swiss banks to keep it safe from the greedy germans, but they are still trying to get it back, but the banks are unwilling to return it. I don't know the reason for this unwillingness.

    Update.
Just read that the Dutch government officially gave up on the remaining 64.000 kg of gold that is still in Swiss hands, as of 4-8-2014.
