I remember as a late, well right in the middle teenager, having gone to the old Montreal without my mom's permission, in a bar even if underage, and I was all impressed because the great poet, Leonard Cohen, was having a drink there.

The song tells you however what some Canadian think of USA. "Exporting democracy" presumebly eslewhere while not having true democracy in their own country (just the voting fraud tells it all, plus all the times we hear that presidents are nominated, plus a two parties political scene where millions and millions are necessary to be elected, certainly not for the ordinary man who could make more sense than those presented to the American people).

Hopefully, democracy is coming in the USA.

Yeah, he paints the picture, shuttered automobile industries and all. I heard he was doing his farewell tour not long ago, he has to be like up in his 80s by now. So I doubt I'll ever get the chance to see the guy in person.

If the two party system were the worst of our problems I'd be happy.

But the good news is that when I looked it up to see if he had died I found out that he released a new album last month called You Want It Darker.

Gosh BsBray, I swear I have a Mandela effect moment!!! I had read that a few years back, and that his son was taking all his music and remastering it, as well as composing some of his own.

Ha! I too, read and knew that he has passed few years ago (and that his son kept him on the market, exactly), but then I forgot about it (for me he was still alive through his songs) - and this year, when I read reviews on his new album the contradiction did not occur to me.

Mandela? Real fake news back then? collective hypnosis? Funny.
