We do have a few, and it's more good news: Kerrie is now corresponding with Professor Levy's personal secretary, at the Shoulder Unit in Reading, England. It seems the cost of the operation itself is significantly lower than she'd thought it would be.

She's now waiting to hear about the cost of the specially-made nickel-free prosthesis itself, and the various other hospital costs (which will not be inconsiderable). Then, she'll know precisely how much it will all amount to. Related to that, of course, is when she can book the procedure and get it all done.

Regarding whether 'she can fly' (thanks for asking!) — yes, she can physically get on a plane. But the important issue is whether her body is strong enough to tolerate a major operation. (If it's not, the surgeon would never take the risk of the stress of the operation killing the patient.) So, she's doing a rigorous home-based detox program right now to prepare herself for that, and so far that's working well.

If I won the lottery, that would be the first thing I would do! Send Kerrielea the money for her surgery and recuperation! It would be nice if people of means could be more generous in some situations like this! Pay it forward! Us "little people" are helping as best we can! Same thing with this forum. If we could all give a little, we could "move mountains" to keep this forum solvent! Kerrielea, I think about you every day! Get well my dear!
