Well, Folks, we now have the one major update we've been waiting for.
Kerrie has a firm appointment with
Professor Levy, at the specialist
Shoulder Unit in Reading, England, on 1 March.
That's 15 days from now.
So, wow, this is really happening.
The function of that appointment is to complete all the real-time scans needed to know
exactly what the current damage is in there — which is considerable — and order the nickel-free prosthesis exactly to specification.
Kerrie then has to wait till that's delivered (maybe another week or two), and then he'll operate immediately. She'll be in the hospital for something like 5 days, and after that she'll move out into a residential convalescent facility and have daily physio until she's okay to return home, maybe some 6 weeks after that.
She has to pay all the hospital fees as soon as she arrives. In GB Pounds sterling, that's 3,000 for the operation, and 3,300 for all the other hospital costs. The prosthesis is an unknown at the moment, but may be 1,000—1,500.
So that means, all told, including local accommodation when she's waiting for the operation, the USD amount will come in at around $9,900. (She's been gifted with a free 'buddy pass' flight to get from Oregon to London, so the travel is handled.)
After she leaves the hospital, there's a whole major second stage of the rehab process:
- Residential care (because she'll be strapped up tight and will be unable to do a thing), and then
- When that's easier, back to local accommodation.
- And she'll need physio every day during that time, and also some logistical support... some ferrying will be needed (if she's on her own in local accommodation, both before and after), also for shopping, etc etc.
That second stage is hard to gauge, and can be paid a little later — rather than right up front, which is required by the hospital. All that aftercare could be as much as another $4,500.
Then — she'll be on her way home.

I also want to do a little more eulogizing, if I may. (Kerrie will never do this on her own behalf!) She's been working recently with a small number of Avalon members, free of charge, and has helped to release some quite longstanding conditions. One, a short while back, reported that her thrombosis had disappeared, much to the astonishment of her doctor.
Two others immediately reported significant changes in major situations, directly correlated to the sessions.
Kerrie even did a brief session with myself when I crashed into something that poleaxed me for a day, and she lifted it all off in maybe 5 mins flat. And all this time, she and I have been doing some quite large-scale planetary healing work (she's the primary nose-wiggler, not me) that leaves us sometimes seeing the results in the news the following day — not a joke.
It's sometimes hard to talk about this stuff without sounding ridiculous (or worse!), and although this is kind of off-topic on this thread I just wanted to give an idea, again, of the caliber of selfless being we're supporting here. When she's supporting others, her own situation is just nowhere in her mind. Considering she's in constant pain, night and day, with all systems gradually failing, it's really something that I can't imagine very easily, and certainly never want to experience for myself.
GoFundMe will send out an update in the next 24 hours, and now we do need a final
money bomb thing (I think that what it's called in the US!
) to make up the rest of what's needed.
Up till now, we were guessing, at both the amount and the timescale — but now we know, and knowing exactly where one stands is ALWAYS a very good thing.
