losing a furry friend

Lost a kitty friend a few days ago and was sent the following. Perhaps others may find this comforting who had lost a furry friend.


Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Seriously though, it's emotionally difficult to miss any species friend. But know this, they are so close to you now that manifestation isn't possible at this time. Continue to love them as always.

My Dog, her name is Baby, is going to be 18 years on the 30th of this month and she is literally on her last leg, barley walking, blind an deaf. It is weird because we are just waiting for her to die. She wakes us up at least three times a night wanting to drink and go to the bathroom. She is mostly ok though and has an good appetite . She has been the best dog and I will miss her when she does transition. I have two other dogs, all poodles and they love Baby so much. I believe animals are a part of us vibrationally. Sorry to hear of your loss.

Maybe you just haven't spent time with rite cat. I remember an old girlfriend had quite a lot of cats,It seemed there was a new one appeared every time I called by and whilst I wasn't a fan of them in the beginning there very different personalities grew on me.

It may be a odd thing to say but when the relationship ran its course and ended I actually missed the cats quite a lot.

I don’t know if it’s any comfort, JimM, but I once lost one of my beloved feline friends due to old age when I was travelling and not there for her in her last days. I was utterly devastated and would never have made that trip had I suspected she was so fragile. I felt terribly guilty for not having sensed her imminent departure and not having said goodbye.

Nevertheless.

A few weeks after her passing she returned to me in a dream, surprisingly looking much fresher, younger and quite happy. She greeted me affectionately and we exchanged our loving regards. Then she departed for once and all.

I feel absolutely certain that she was called back by my longing and wanted me to know that she was feeling much better now.

Was it “only” a dream? A confabulation of my own longing? Well, after a lifetime of many extraordinary “dream” adventures (or “things that happen while my body is asleep..”) that I’ve later been able to verify as actual events, I’m inclined to put this one into the category of “actually happened at some level.”

I’m pretty sure now that our domestic friends have at least a basic soul identity and consciousness that continues.

I am a HUGE cat and all furry friends lover. I figured most would know my favoritism for cats/ fury friends by this https://projectavalon.net/forum4/show...goes---/page83 thread.

We have one dog, a 5 yr old female.
Oct.2015, we had to put down her friend, a male of 12+ years.
Very, very tough decision, of course, but he had a huge tumor that grew out of control in a matter of a week or so.
He crossed rainbow bridge around 3pm that day.
Later that evening, around 9:30pm or so, I was having a tea under the stars in the backyard.
The female, who we still have, jumped up on my lap, looked me in the eyes and cried.
And cried and cried and cried.
I had never seen anything like that from her (or another dog) before.
I mean "Niagara Falls" tears, which of course, made me feel like crying again too (I did enough of that at the Vet, trying to decide whether to put him down).

Rest assured your friend is still with you; after all, we are all connected.

P.S. yes, as others have noted, I dream of him all of the time.

I've had both cats & dogs visit me in spirit, during the daytime & at night. . .they are wonderfully loyal & comforting, & death is the same for all of us. You have my deepest sympathy, I have lost so many friends in the body over the years. . .

Please think about the animals you (if you do !) allow to be killed & eaten, they are exactly the same as our tamed friends. . .all deserve the same respect & compassion. Even that Xmas turkey or little lamb who was wrenched from her mother & had her throat cut for someone's meal. She had exactly the same will to live & play, & a heart that could have loved a human caretaker.

The hardest for me is the fact of this terrible schism in the human mind, between those animals we know & love, & those seen as "produce". They are all the same.

So true, this is what makes this life soo difficult and heavy. We all carry a responsibility in this. They are so forgiving and loving that it is just so hard not to feel ashamed and guilty for the whole gigantic problem.

We, daughter and I, lost our cat last August. She had been 13 years with us, my daughter growing up with her. She would lay in front of my daughter bedroom door and would cry and cry for hours when my daughter was gone for too long. Heart wrenching - cats rarely do that.

We had to have her put down (liver disease). We were both with her. When we drove back, my daughter saw our cat Noirette walking back home on the sidewalk!! Her imagination or the cat spirit???

We still miss her.

My daughter also had her first friend pass away 8 years ago. We had seen her and daughter had had therapy playing with her in the summer my daughter dreamed around Christmas that we were going back in Florida the next sumner for more therapy and her first friend ever, Daphne, was gone. I wrote the therapist in Florida who wrote back that Daphne was fine. When we went back the next summer, Daphne was absent, having died in February. My daughter mourned her for months. Daphne came to visit her and communicated with my daughter a few times in vivid Dreams.

Sorry for your loss. I've lost several cat friends throughout my life, and each one of them is as tough as the first one. Each cat left a special unconditional love gift in my soul, and they visit me often here and in my dreams.
