Default Structure emerging from ice in Antarctica

Antarctica? Motte and bailey castle remains emerge from icecap
A GIANT fort-like structure has just revealed itself in deepest Antarctica, sparking claims of an ancient civilisation once roaming the polar region.

What apperars to be the remains oval shaped “building” is 400ft across and appears to have all the hallmarks of being a sizeable, man-made construction - similar to a mediaeval motte and bailey castle.

The map shows Antarctica drawn impeccably well, despite it not officially being discovered until 1818.

This dome-like structure is not the first discovery to raise questions about advanced ancient civilisations living in the area.

A pyramid also appears to have been discovered poking out of the snow, with its distinctive triangular, symmetrical shape are clearly at odds with its surrounding environment.

If true, it would reshape everything scientists thought they knew about humanity’s past as it would prove people inhabited what was previously thought to be a desolate region.

How thick is Antarctic ice? Why are polar ice caps melting?

Satellite imagery clearly shows the structure, which closely resembles the ruins of a once giant building.

It is so symmetrical it has raised questions as to whether nature alone could have designed it.

Scientists initially thought the discovery could be a sastrugi – a natural phenomenon formed by years of being battered by strong, freezing winds and heavy snowfall.

But sastrugies always form a distinctive shape based on the direction of the wind and rarely appear as a distinct oval, such as the mystery formation in the satellite image.

Ancient civilisations in Antarctica have long been rumoured to have existed, with people pointing to a map drawn in 1513 by Turkish admiral Piri Reis as a clear sign of historic life.

Snow pyramid discovery' in Antarctic could change the course of HUMAN HISTORY
STUNNING images of what appears to be a pyramid in Antarctica are baffling scientists around the world.

Images on Google earth have revealed the existence of the four-sided structure, which bears an uncanny resemblance to the famous Egyptian pyramids built thousands of years ago.

Covered by snow on each side, the find has prompted theories that what is now the snowy caps of the earth was once inhabited by humanity.

Three structures have apparently been found, two roughly 10 miles inland and the other close to the coast.

Evidence from the surrounding area indicates the climate was not as cold as it is today.

Seems the daily mail published this last week as well..

If only someone could have kept the coordinates of this supposed ice-dome-thing in the convincing screenshot of google earth... strange that their cited source does not have the google copyright on it-

Also - the ancient-code source suggests this was first found in 2012 (and still does not provide coordinates, or suggest that it was specifically google earth either.)

That looks to me like a FLAT shape (not anything elevated)... and the darkish-blue spots look like ice. The key would have been for someone on Google Earth to zoom in from the side, and show the elevation.

I do not think this is a structure... looks far more like human tracks deliberately making a nice pattern on a snowed-over frozen lake.

any wonder why John Kerry, Buzz Aldrin, the patriarch of the Russian Orthdox Church and a whole host of others (supposedly soon Vladimir Putin) made unexpected visits to Antarctica?

British archeologist Graham Hancock has stated Antarctica is/was previously Atlantis but previously located ca. 2500 miles northward of its previous position-

according to my read reports Buzz Aldrin after having visited Antarctica had to be flown to New Zealand for medical care... (?)

so what's down there?- I have my own thoughts about this and I bet many of you are having the same thoughts...

    be well all-

Well, it's not a hoax. (Unless there's a joker in Google, which has to be possible.)

Here are the co-ordinates. Enter this into Google Earth, and you'll see it. It's about half a mile long.

    72°00' 36.00'' S, 168° 34' 40.00'' E

But the 'eye' and 'mouth' are crevasses in the snowfield. Nothing carved in rock. Crevasses appear and disappear all the time. That strongly implies (if this is real) that it's not a permanent feature.

Could the structure resembling an alien face be pareidolia and nothing more? Being caused only by the play of light and shadow amongst the crevices and folds in the ice and rock that will change to nothing significant as the ice melts??

Considering all the random patterns in Earth's ice, mountains and deserts, I'd be surprised if there weren't any incredibly face-like forms. And no doubt on other planets - like Mars for example...!

Thumbs up Re: Structure emerging from ice in Antarctica

    Satellite GeoEye-1 Snapped 400ft Man-made formation East-Antarctica

The frozen desert serves as a scientific haven for more than 1,000 researchers around the year, who monitor climate change and study Earth’s history. Its barren landscape gives them access to an unspoilt world, where they can complete their research, despite temperatures dropping to as low as -90C. The conditions in parts of the region are so harsh that scientists rarely visit them, instead using satellite data to complete their work.

However, the Science Channel revealed in its ‘What on Earth?’ series how one image, sent back to the GeoEye-1 Earth observation satellite, left researchers stumped.
The series explained: “Analysis of the image measures the concentric ovals at 400-feet-wide.

“The image comes from one of the most remote, untouched regions on Earth, the vast frozen deserts of East Antarctica.”
University College London archaeologist Mark Altaweel detailed why the mysterious image puzzled him so much.

He said: “It’s the kind of thing that if you see it anywhere in the world, you immediately say ’that is definitely manmade’.

“We’re in the middle of the Antarctic, so what in the world is that doing there?”
Professor of physical geographer Jonathan Bamber explained why scientists rarely visit this area, before putting forward his initial theory on the markings.
He said: “It’s the coldest, driest, windiest place on Earth.
“It’s thousands of miles from any other civilisation.

“There are katabatic winds and they can form these features called sastrugi – the equivalent of dunes over snow.”

However, the narrator went on to rule this theory out.
He said: “They are sharp wave-like ridges in the snow surface that run parallel to the direction of the wind.

“They can form highly unusual shapes, but rarely what is visible in the image.
“But there’s another force of nature caused by ice melt in Antarctica.”

Prof Bamber then came up with his best explanation for what possibly happened in the icy continent.

He added in 2017: “I would say the dark patches are surface melt that tends to pond and form what are called supraglacial lakes.

“If that pong drains out it will leave a void under the ice which can collapse.
“The structure you see here, you can almost imagine a pond that has collapsed inwards and created these cracks as the ice collapses in.”

However, the scientists could not reach an agreement during the show as to what the anomaly was due to the ice being so thick in the region.

Instead, they proposed to go there in the future to study how it was possibly made and determine whether it was made naturally.
At the time of its launch, GeoEye-1 was the world’s highest-resolution commercial Earth-imaging satellite, owned by DigitalGlobe.

Google, which had its logo on the side of the rocket, has exclusive online mapping use of its data.

While GeoEye-1 is capable of imagery with details the size of 41cm per pixel, that resolution is only available to the US government.

Google has access to details of 50cm per pixel.
