Default Hillary.. take 2 - Being urged to run for Mayor of NY City

Just when all thought the Clinton's were out of politics and pulling their foundation down.. this comes out..

Hillary Clinton Urged to Run for New York Mayor

"She's talking about it," a former city Democratic elected official admitted to Newsmax over the weekend, saying the idea has not been dismissed by the former first lady's inner circle.

"He and other sources say Clinton is being pushed to run by Democrats dissatisfied over de Blasio's mayoralty.

"If she ran, she'd win," another source with deep ties to the Democratic and media establishment said.

"Some Clinton advisers are reportedly predicting Trump will stumble badly in his first term, encouraging Hillary to stay on the sidelines in case she wants to make another bid for the White House in 2020.

"But even her closest allies say the chances of her running for president again are small.

"Veteran New York Democratic consultant Hank Sheinkopf told Newsmax that Clinton "would be a terrific candidate for mayor."

Quote At least nine other Democrats are eyeing a bid for mayor this year. Among those mentioned are New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr., and outgoing Office of Management and Budget Director Shaun Donovan, who also served as city housing preservation and development commissioner under former Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Republican billionaire John Catsimatidis is also mulling a bid. Catsimatidis ran for the Republican mayoral nomination in 2013 and lost, but remains a popular figure in GOP and media circles.

A poll recently conducted says Hillary would win against de Blasio.

Quote A survey from Quinnipiac University released Wednesday found that Clinton, running as an independent, would top de Blasio, running as a Democrat, by 49 percent to 30.

There are rumors that Clinton may be interested in running for mayor of New York City, although her top aides have sought to tamp down that speculation in public interviews.

Emails published by WikiLeaks during the 2016 Democratic presidential primary revealed tension between de Blasio, who managed Clinton’s campaign for Senate, and Clinton’s top aides.

De Blasio, a progressive, declined to endorse Clinton’s bid to be the Democratic presidential nominee for months. He finally endorsed her in October of 2015, but the chill between the two camps persisted and de Blasio never had a prominent role as a Clinton surrogate.

The Quinnipiac University survey found New Yorkers are split on de Blasio’s job performance, with 45 percent saying they approve against 46 percent who disapprove.

However, 49 percent said de Blasio does not deserve to be reelected, against 42 percent who said he does.

The survey found that de Blasio has a lead of nearly 25 points over the next closest Democratic primary challenger — a field that includes five other potential candidates, but not Clinton.

However, at 35 percent support de Blasio fails to reach the 40 percent mark needed to avoid a primary run-off.

“New Yorkers aren’t in love with Mayor Bill de Blasio, but they seem to like him better than other possible choices — except Hillary Clinton, who probably is an impossible choice,” said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll. “None of the possible contenders has made any real noise or spent any money, so this race still could get interesting."

The Quinnipiac poll of 1,138 voters in New York City was conducted between Jan. 11-17 and has a 2.9 percentage point margin of error.

What does it mean to be Mayor of New York City?

That's an interesting question - back in 2013 Mitchell L. Moss, a Henry Hart Rice professor of urban policy and planning at New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service wrote the below, giving his opinion of the job of Mayor of NY City..

Quote The mayor runs a $70 billion government and has a direct relationship with the 8.2 million people who live in the city – and is responsible for the 54 million who visit the city each year.

No elective office can match the New York City mayoralty as a source of direct action to improve everyday life. Michael Bloomberg understood how to use this power to ban trans fats and smoking, redesign streets, finance a subway expansion, close failing schools, grade 25,000 restaurants and transform decaying areas into vibrant neighborhoods.

At the federal level, power is shared with the states and dispersed among three branches. While the judiciary is a check on both executives, the Congress can thwart the president at every turn while the city council – intrinsically weak – cannot.

Because being mayor of New York City is a far better job than being the governor of New York State. It has far more power, and living in Albany is equivalent to political exile. Furthermore, in New York City, municipal power flows directly from the mayor: appointing almost all city commissioners; determining how much money the city can spend; controlling the municipally owned waterfront, parks and beaches; and educating more than one million school children.

Mayors may be tempted to run for governor or president, but it is a misplaced ambition. No governor has a global stage like Times Square or the Statue of Liberty, and presidents have only one enduring power: appointments to the Supreme Court. Richard Nixon and George W. Bush named justices who have exerted and will continue to exert more influence than either president did while in office.

The president does have enormous stature in the international arena – and in the war on terrorism – but even those powers are being eroded. Of course, there is nothing like a speech from the Oval Office to reinforce the symbol of presidential power … but millions more watch the Super Bowl halftime show than see anything broadcast from the White House.

Mayors fail when they seek higher office. That’s because they are doers, not talkers. Leaders, not presiders. They aren’t right for the presidency, but they’re just what we need to run the world’s greatest city.
Seems then following Dr. Moss's observations and thoughts, if one is "into power", Hillary would enjoy running New York City, as Mayor..

Why Obama Did Not Pardon Clinton, SR 1446

    Published on 23 Jan 2017

Why didn’t President Obama pardon Hillary Clinton?
After his election – as President-elect – Donald Trump announced that he bore no ill
will towards the Clintons and didn’t want to hurt them. This was a rather surprising
statement after 18 months speaking at huge rallies around the nation where the
crowd inevitably chanted “Lock her up.” [insert: Lock Her Up chants]
But Trump knows that the Clintons represent a significant and malevolent force in
    politics both domestically and internationally.

I remember that it was the NYC police that made sure the emails were out there to be used to defeat, demote and prosecute her.

Perhaps this is about revenge and decimation.

Most importantly, it is not the kind of a thing that a real 'player' does.

It is the kind of move that a pawn is pushed into.

Quote Hillary Clinton attended the Broadway musical The Color Purple on Sunday, receiving a standing ovation from the sold-out crowd and sending attendees clamoring for their phones.

Clinton has maintained a relatively low profile since losing the presidential election in November and received “several ovations” upon her arrival at matinee with former President Bill Clinton and their daughter, Chelsea, The New York Times noted.

Hillary as Mayor overseeing security, police, communications... for Trump Tower (White House North).. talk about being a continual thorn in President Trump's side.. I suppose such could also be about some sort of psyops against Trump? If she were Mayor of NY City that is.. just wondering out loud..

Whatever HRC's ambitions may be now, much will depend on what more comes out from Wikileaks, and if they are able to fulfill their promise, the releases to come will be even more damning than what has come before.
    We can hope!
But I've come to believe that the whole show is being orchestrated, the better to confound and confuse, so I think it's best not to get attached to any particular outcomes.

So the question remains, who are the nameless "backers" urging her on? Funding her?

Do they have residual funds from DNC that she would somehow miraculously materialize for her "independent" ticket running?

(Ya cute pictures, they weren't there prior to the thanking @onawah.. )

According to the job title, everything that goes on with "running the city" she could have say over, ultimately... Assigning the "deputy" mayor and staffers to carry out her wishes..

I wonder if we would see a lot more of the way things were apparently done with "Pay for Play", or if businesses wanted "most favored vendor status" by making contributions, and/or "donations" to certain programs; "shelters" could very well be one of them, a sizable donation, let's hypothesize 5Million $ donated to animal shelters with a tied in "study" which hires 10 consultants to "study" how an animal becomes homelsss in NY, how many are homeless, how many are roaming around.... let's say.. And then they build a "university" department to publish the results, using a "most favored vendor status contractor".. to build the facility... Of course it has to be "certified", so a 10X over normal "costs" would be tacked on...

Such a hypothesis of how it could be done could very well be "how it is done" in a big city, with a 70 Billion Dollar budget..

WHO do the contracts go to (SEE POST # 3).

Thank you Bob. If you don't mind I'd like to 'use'/share that idea. It also inspired another idea. I will think about it, work on it.

Thank you conk, also for pointing out. Sometimes a project can be done where humans and also animals benefit, and the person still doesn't have to care about them/others.
So I do not especially expect 'care' - but I expect getting it done.

    Thank you for your inspiration

    Hey Calz,
Do you ever get the feeling that some of the elite are made to play the fool by their controllers, the price of admission to the underground bunkers or the "Rejuvenation pill" being whether they can completely humiliate themselves in public to prove their loyalty?
One more piece of their soul on the sacrificial altar.
I never thought I would be able to feel sorry for them, but I am beginning to now.
