As i'm sure that a majority of you do not have a snapchat, I am sure this will be interesting to find.

Lately I have been noticing a strong influence of evil and overly sexual pictures/videos on the snapchat discovery page. This is highly disturbing to me, as I recently came across a stunning statistic: In a 2016 study, 23% of snapchat users in the U.S were between ages 13-17. Some of those kids are in middle school! Your kids/grandchildren could be seeing this stuff on a daily basis!

This is not my first hunch of a vile snapchat- for a few months now I have taken notice of the toxicity snapchat seems to convey: sex position quizzes, half naked Kardashians, and here has even been a devil looking filter for your face! Snapchat was originally made for just pictures, but now I guess they felt the need to throw in some brainwashing and advertisements

It is truly unbecoming and I am hurting for the young kids who are subjected to this pernicious media.

As a teacher when i learned about snapchat I became obsessed with understanding its popularity. I did my own field research asking every student in my classes WHY, HOW, WHEN, WHO and HOW MANY.

Some students send between 30-50 a day! One girl had sent 30,000 over a two year period!

It keeps them glued to their phones all day!

Taking selfies and group selfies covers 90% of what really goes on!

After school is another very popular APP. You can see by the marketing it is pushing sex and secrecy.
