Default Former Microsoft employee explains WHY Windows 7/8.1 support is being dropped on older CPU's

This guy worked for Microsoft for 15 years in the windows OS division. The this video he gives very professional explanation for WHY exactly microsoft is fully dropping support for windows 7/8.1 [*] and pushing for Windows 10.

    [ Mod-edit:
[*] Microsoft is not fully dropping support for older Windows versions 7 and 8.1. Rather they are dropping this support on the latest generation of CPU's, such as Intel's Kaby Lake and AMD's Ryzen. This is what Barncules actually says, and what other PC websites have saying for a while now, including Microsoft themselves. In other words, if you have the latest Kaby Lake or Ryzen CPU, you'll need to run Windows 10 if you want Microsoft updates. -- Paul. ]

AMD confirms windows 7/8 will not support its new RYZEN CPU chips...

Quote "To achieve the highest confidence in the performance of our AMD Ryzen desktop processors (formerly codenamed 'Summit Ridge'), AMD validated them across two different OS generations, Windows 7 and 10. However, only support and drivers for Windows 10 will be provided in AMD Ryzen desktop processor production parts," AMD told PCWorld.

AMD's statement is confirmation of what Microsoft has been saying for some time now, that Intel's Kaby Lake processors and AMD's Ryzen desktop chips would only be supported in Windows 10.

exactly what I have been saying since Vista... 7 brought it back (an apology) but went too far, and 10 is going back to Vista again... "security" this is independent confirmation for what I just 'knew' intuitively, simply by following MS for over 2 decades...

i am still using XP that they were going to stop supporting in 2014.. .. the reality is that it keep updating itself every now and then and most things work on it still...
actually dropbox wont work no more on XP... I just found out

just saying they will probably quietly keep supporting 7 and 8.1
