Miles Mathis' two websites were down (15-19 April 2017)

I have no information yet on what this means ... perhaps just some website maintenance ... but Miles Mathis' two websites http://milesmathis.com and http://mileswmathis.com (both of which resolve to IP 173.167.228.84) have been down now for perhaps a half day or a day. Miles is a Canadian Texas (living in New Mexico now) portrait artist with a prolific mind for conspiracy thinking. He's an acquired taste of mine over the years. Hopefully all is well and will be back up soon enough.

Update: BIG OOPS, by me... My next guess is this is this is Miles Mathis' #1 troll.

A temporary solution for a Miles Mathis fix is his DraftScience YouTube Channel. He uploads regularly. Here’s one from four days ago. There are two more since this one. Check out his channel page or the right side of his home page for his other YouTube sites.

Wow - I had no idea that Miles was on Youtube, and I don't recall ever seeing him "live".

P.S. - In this video and in a follow up video, Mr. DraftScience speaks of Miles Mathis in the third person, calling something that Miles said about PI being equal to 4 as an error. It would seem that Mr. DraftScience is more of a critic of Miles than a follower.

Miles Mathis is definitely an acquired taste. Found him recently. His take down of Bob Dylan is fascinating.

A couple of other "alt-media" sites are starting to notice that Miles' two websites have been down, for about three days now:

I have some 360 pdf articles by Miles Mathis on my disk, dating back several years. If his websites don't come back online after a while, I might get around to providing those articles on AvalonLibrary.net.

Aha - good news - I just noticed that I received an email three hours ago, claiming to be sent at the request of Miles Mathis.

The email read:

Miles wants everyone to know that he is fine.

He says that recent surges in traffic may have caused the two sites to crash.

Miles says that if he is unable to fully and immediately restore operations on both sites through his current provider, then he will definitely have both sites up and running as usual elsewhere--and in short order.

Miles colleague saw my above posting of his message that Miles was OK and working to get his websites back online.

He then sent me a couple of reply messages - first a Thanks:

... and then a correction of a couple of details that I had incorrect:

By the way, Paul, I'm not Miles and in no way did I claim to be (I used third person, and not as a jock talking about himself, haha!)--and Miles is not a Canadian, but a Texan living in Taos, New Mexico.

To clarify:

I spoke with Miles on Monday, he asked me to post the update in a forum, and your site was the slamdunk no-brainer based on the search results.

It is interesting that you mentioned two sites as having reported Miles' site crashes.

Both of those sites are *known* Intelligence honeytraps/list generators/spyware incubators that operate within the same jerkcircles as do the dozens of futile anti-Mathis ops, as any simple net search for "Miles Mathis" will quickly reveal.

It's fair to say that those two spook sites weren't exactly reporting on Miles' site crashes out of concern for Miles--and certainly not for his two malfunctioning sites.

The real good news is that he's *over* his targets, and *waaay over* their flak.

I just spoke with Miles on the phone. He confirmed what I had already guessed from my poking around, that it's not just Miles' two websites that are down, but all the websites at the hosting service he's using. Miles is still awaiting further details from that hosting service as to what's going on and when they will be back online. If need be (hopefully not), Miles is prepared to bring up his websites again, from his backups, on some other hosting service.

No sooner did I write that and I see that that hosting service's main website is back online: http://extrasecurity.com/. That's good news. Hopefully they can get the websites that they host, such as Miles' websites, back up fairly soon.

P.S. -- Correction - http://extrasecurity.com/ does not host websites nor resell servers to other hosting services. So the connection between them and Miles' websites is unclear to me. The "whois" record for Miles' websites shows http://extrasecurity.com/ is providing the DNS records for his websites, but more seems to be down than just the DNS record, and http://extrasecurity.com/ seems to have been down (until now) at the same time as Miles' websites. Oh well.

Both of his websites, http://milesmathis.com and http://mileswmathis.com, are back up now. Miles appears, from what I can tell, to have moved his sites to a different host. Looks good.
