Grenfell Tower: Hotpoint fridge freezer started fire- BBC News

    Published on 23 Jun 2017

The Grenfell Tower fire in London started in a fridge freezer, and outside cladding failed safety tests, police say.
Insulation on the building also failed tests and the Metropolitan Police will consider manslaughter charges.
Seventy-nine people are missing or presumed dead after the blaze destroyed 150 homes in the Kensington tower block.
Police confirmed the fire had not been started deliberately.

Det Sup Fiona McCormack said she wanted to hear about anyone who was in the tower, whether or not they were
meant to be in the building. She said: "I do not want there to be any victims of this tragedy that we do not know about.

Frankie is an acquired taste but has a grounded view of the world and is a sort
of Scottish George Carling with more attitude.....I watched his BBC 2 last week and
he openly led a item about Saudi as the guys who brought us 9/11, which was a
brazen statement for the audience to digest....

Owen Jones meets Frankie Boyle | 'Grenfell Tower residents were treated as less than human'

    Published on 23 Jun 2017
Frankie Boyle tells me he believes there’s ‘a connection between a Conservative government that
wants to get rid of human rights legislation’ and the residents of Grenfell Tower ‘being treated as
less than human’. He thinks a series of decisions show that the pursuit of profit was more important
than fire safety, which he describes as 'deeply immoral'.

We also talked about Theresa May's woeful performance in the 2017 general election but why simply
replacing her with a new 'broken sociopath' is not an adequate solution, why trust in the media is so
low and the modern tendencies for faux outrage and judgmental moralising.

Cladding fire tests failed by 27 high-rise blocks

    From the section UK

Cladding on 27 tower blocks in 15 council areas in England has failed fire safety tests,
the government says. This comes after Camden Council became the first authority to
evacuate residents over fire safety concerns, asking people living in four high-rise
buildings to leave late on Friday. The council said it had no option but to move residents
of 650 flats on the Chalcots estate while work takes place.

Theresa May said "necessary" steps will be taken to find people accommodation.

Grenfell Tower disaster parallels in House of Cards, 1993.

The points are made in general, but I found the arguments around social injustice, and the nature of the cause of the tragedy - a gas explosion in a run-down tower block - particularly chilling. Especially uncanny are the details of the degraded state of public housing, and even the specific points that a small fire on the fourth floor began the blaze.

More high-rises fail fire safety tests

    From the section UK

Cladding on 60 high-rise buildings across 25 local authority areas in
England has failed fire safety tests, the government has said.
Tests are taking place on the fire resistance of cladding on up to 600
buildings following the Grenfell Tower fire in North Kensington on 14 June.
The Department for Communities and Local Government said all buildings
so far had failed the test.Councils were told to prioritise buildings they
had most concern over. Not all the buildings affected have so far been
named but a list from the DCLG identifies 14 of the areas:

Grenfell Tower: Cladding firm ends global sales for tower blocks

The US firm that supplied cladding used on London's Grenfell Tower says
it has ended global sales of the product for use in high-rise blocks.

Arconic said it was discontinuing sales of Reynobond PE for tower blocks due
to "issues" identified by the fire, which is feared to have killed at least 79.

The government said 75 buildings in 26 council areas had now failed fire safety
tests - every one tested so far.

Theresa May said councils need to speed up tower block safety tests in England.

Communities and Local Government Secretary Sajid Javid said all hospitals and
schools had also been asked to carry out "immediate checks".

Grenfell Tower fire: Theresa May calls for cladding investigation

There should be a "major national investigation" into the use of cladding on high-
    rise towers, Theresa May says.

It comes as it was revealed cladding from 95 towers in 32 local authority areas in
England had failed fire safety tests - all of the samples submitted so far since the
    Grenfell Tower fire.

No final Grenfell Tower death toll 'this year'

The final Grenfell Tower fire toll will not be known until at least the
end of the year, with 80 people currently presumed dead, police say.

The vast majority of those who died were said to be in 23 of the North
    Kensington building's 129 flats.The 14 June fire destroyed 151 homes,
most in the tower block, but also a number of surrounding properties.

the one thing that really sticks out is the entire building complex was filled with Asbestos insulation, it was everywhere.

the cost of the removal of the asbestos was worth more than the buildings or the property could and would ever be.

By all environmental and safely law, and regulations, combined with costs of all kinds that might occur....the property was worth negative $2-3billion. With resale of the given new buildings that would be on it. Best case scenario.

No-one would touch those buildings. No one.

A total black hole that would kill the fortunes of any given billionaire who wold dare to to take on the building complex, even if for free.

This is the part that really needs to be made clear to people, as a starting point in any investigations.

The removal of the asbestos was legally mandated and had to go forward. Inch by inch, room by room, for the entire wtc complex.

Who was going to foot the multi-billion dollar bill cost for it?

Somehow, out of the blue...Silverstein buys the complex... and insures it for billions, right away.

Then, it almost immediately goes down and he gets a payout, and no one has to deal with the incredible amounts of ultra fine asbestos dust ..asbestos dust...that completely engulfs that part of Manhattan. And will eventually be the cause of death for thousands.

win win win. This is how you know it is the hidden hand. They get what they want from a single act/event, and they get it from multiple directions which are all passing through the given single event.

Absolutely! And they got to tighten the screws on American rights and freedoms ushering in a Fascist police state with the "Patriot Act" (which amazingly they wrote and passed into law within weeks of 9/11--nothing suspicious there), Homeland Security Act, Stellar Wind (surveillance of all US citizens), TSA (groping grandmas and children and all the rest of us potential terrorists), toppling the Iraqi government (that wasn't involved at all), and killing millions of Muslims and thousands of our soldiers while sucking more than $3.5 trillion dollars from the taxpayers to grow the ever expanding military industrial complex to support all these wars and conflicts since 9/11.

And whilst the population focuses on this disaster and the likelihood of repeats around the country, the BRITISH Government is advertising it's willingness to go to war with Russia.

And the people are not paying attention.

Israel, the US and UK are warning about further uses of Sarin gas or other biological agent discharges in Syria to accuse Assad of genocide of his own people. And they are the culprits themselves.

Grenfell Tower fire: Judge 'doubt' over inquiry scope

The retired judge heading the inquiry into the Grenfell Tower fire says he

Sir Martin Moore-Bick said the probe could be limited to the cause, how it

Grenfell Tower: Cladding 'changed to cheaper version'

By Tom Symonds and Daniel De Simone
    BBC News

Cladding fitted to Grenfell Tower during its refurbishment was changed
to a cheaper version, documents obtained by the BBC suggest.

Documents show the aluminium cladding was less fire-resistant than zinc,
    thereby saving nearly £300,000.

The cladding - fitted as part of the refurbishment of the west London
tower - is thought to have contributed to the fire that killed at least 80 people.

There is no suggestion a deliberate decision was made to cut fire safety.

Grenfell fire: Chairman prepared to hold 'very broad' inquiry

The Grenfell Tower public inquiry chairman is prepared to be "very broad"
when looking at the causes of the fire, a senior source has told the BBC.

Sir Martin Moore-Bick's inquiry will "go right back to the construction of the
tower" in the 1970s to examine warnings that may have been missed.

This is nonsense - The government knows broadly how many families were living there.

The government fearing a civil revolution has suppressed the true death toll to save its own skin - Shameful and shocking !

Yet despite being totally engulfed in flames and burning for more than 24 hours, the tower still stands. Must be those three pesky WTC towers were just very unlucky.
the one thing that really sticks out is the entire building complex was filled with Asbestos insulation, it was everywhere.

the cost of the removal of the asbestos was worth more than the buildings or the property could and would ever be.

    Each breath a gift...
