    Article:

Chinese scientists just teleported an object into Earth's orbit for the first time

    Business Insider UK11 July 2017

Not long ago, in the early 1990s, scientists only speculated that teleportation using quantum physics could be possible.

Since then, the process has become a standard operation in quantum optics labs around the world. In fact, just last year, two separate teams conducted the world's first quantum teleportation outside of a laboratory.

Now, researchers in China have taken the process a few steps further: they successfully teleported a photon from Earth to a satellite orbiting more than 500 km (311 mi) away.

The satellite, called Micius, is a highly sensitive photo receiver capable of detecting the quantum states of single photons fired from the ground. Micius was launched to allow scientists to test various technological building blocks for quantum feats including entanglement, cryptography, and teleportation.

This teleportation feat was announced as one of the first results of these experiments. Not only did the team teleport the first object ever from the ground to orbit, they also created the first satellite-to-ground quantum network, smashing the record for the longest distance for which entanglement has been measured.

"Long-distance teleportation has been recognized as a fundamental element in protocols such as large-scale quantum networks and distributed quantum computation," says the Chinese team to MIT Technology Review. "Previous teleportation experiments between distant locations were limited to a distance on the order of 100 kilometers, due to photon loss in optical fibers or terrestrial free-space channels."

What comes to mind when you think of teleportation?

Your brain might conjure images of Scotty beaming up the Enterprise crew in Star Trek, but it's actually quite a different process than sci-fi films present.

Quantum teleportation relies on quantum entanglement — a situation where one set of quantum objects (such as photons) form at the same instant and point in space. In this way, they share the same existence. This shared existence continues even when the photons are separated – meaning a measurement on one immediately influences the state of the other, regardless of the distance between them.

This link can be used to transmit quantum information by "downloading" the information associated with one photon over an entangled link to another photon. This second photon takes on the identity of the first.

Well, a photon is hardly an 'object'! Although, of course, the experiment is interesting and significant.

The author of the article fails to explain, in simple terms, what quantum teleportation is all about. Communication and transfer of data.

I know the US military have been doing this for years. Think it was back in 2013-2014 the U.S Department of Defence officially announced they were able to teleport photons. Will check after sources, when I have some free time.

Quantum teleportation cannot in any way be associated with sci-fi teleportation. As far as I know, it's one of the most secure methods to transfer data and information, in this day and age.

The significance in this study, is the distance and the fact that it comes from China.

    EDIT
    Found the sources to above:

In 2013, Copenhagen University announced they could teleport data:

Physical frequency transference aka PFT. It's about time. This will allow astronauts to transfer out of ship, to a planet depending on how far/density of atmosphere the planet is from the ship's orbit around the planet.
At least I think it is. LOL.

Yes but, that's the main stream process 'teleportation' or their allowed to show us version/technique.
The 'jump-room/chair' with it's equations possibly based around 'Pulsed Electricity', which are possibly dating back to the 30-40-50's or maybe earlier.
That technique I believe is up and running.

Quantum teleportation is not the same thing as Star Trek teleportation.

quantum teleportation is a process of transferring quantum information from one particle to another without the actual particles meeting. It involves a principle called entanglement, where the quantum state of one particle can be instantly shared by another regardless of distance.

quantum teleportation refers to the instantaneous transmission of information, rather than actual matter.

Here’s how quantum teleportation works. Imagine, if you will, three people — Alice, Bob and Charlie. Alice wants to send information to Bob. In order to do so, she prepares a photon she wants to teleport and sends it to Charlie, while Bob entangles two photons and sends one of them to Charlie. When Charlie receives the two photons — one each from Alice and Bob — he carries out what’s known as a Bell-state measurement, which actually forces the two to become entangled. This, in turn, causes the photon Bob has to collapse into the state of Alice’s original photon, thereby teleporting quantum states between Alice and Bob, who can, in theory, be separated by a distance of miles.

A photon is an elementary particle, the quantum of light and all other forms of electromagnetic radiation, and the force carrier for the electromagnetic force, even when static via virtual photons. The effects of this force are easily observable at both the microscopic and macroscopic level, because the photon has zero rest mass; this allows long distance interactions. Like all elementary particles, photons are currently best explained by quantum mechanics and exhibit wave–particle duality, exhibiting properties of both waves and particles. For example, a single photon may be refracted by a lens or exhibit wave interference with itself, but also act as a particle giving a definite result when its position is measured.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photon

So the success of this experiment is the fact that this is the longest distance outside of a controlled lab environment essentially into space that has ever been tested and successful.

You're welcome. This is in and of itself quiet a substantial experiment. When quantum computing lifts off as it will in the fairly short future I think, it will be quite significant in the development and computation of information which will be near Star Trek level of science indeed....It's just not about that kind of teleportation.

Noting that however when this kind of computation evolves it may very well discover the basis of Star Trek Teleportation...as the physics level of information will be calculated to reveal such an existence. Savvy?

Teleportation: Photon particles today, humans tomorrow?

    By Tom Spender
    BBC News.....14/7/17

Chinese scientists say they have "teleported" a photon particle
from the ground to a satellite orbiting 1,400km (870 miles) away.

For many, however, teleportation evokes something much more
exotic. Is a world previously confined to science fiction now
    becoming reality?

Well, sort of. But we are not likely to be beaming ourselves to
the office or a beach in the Bahamas anytime soon. Sorry.

As mentioned in an earlier post, the secret space program / black ops projects/ breakaway civilization has known and utilized full physical teleportation, not just quantum teleportation, since atleast the early 1950's, as witnessed by an RCAF communications officer. Just imagine how far they have taken it in 65+ years:

Mr. Threlfall was a communications instructor in the Royal Canadian Air Force at RCAF Station Toronto in 1953, when he witnessed an experiment involving the successful dematerialization and re-materialization of an object. Because of his top clearance, he was also able to check out from the base library, original films of gun camera footage from WWII planes. Many times, while watching these films, he noticed UFOs in the footage -- different positions, different shapes, but definitely UFOs. He has also himself seen UFOs maneuvering in the sky.

Hi Foxie, i think Bob was probably giving a closer rendition to the truth than Andy, as was Arthur Newmann, who called the teleportation 'room' to Mars 'the Corridor'. Bill, as expressed in his recently posted discussion with Richard Dolan, suspects that Mr. Basiago may have suffered from implanted fake memories on the 'jump room' because he never mentioned it, or Mars, to Bill in their very extended first conversation.

I once watched Andy try to analyse Martian rover pictures, and he was outlining barren rocks and describing them as people or animals. I got such a cringing feeling that i had to turn the vid off. I dont think Andy has the plot right. Its unfortunate cuz most describe him as an intelligent well meaning man.

It liked when NASA (Bill Clinton) revealed microbic life found from a meteorite from Mars. (I thought that was time for soft disclosure).

Teleportation is off course possible, atoms are not physical, the way we learned from school. "atoms" are waves frequenses, not nut and bolts 3 dimentional, Nicolai Tesla Discoverd that a century ago.

For some reason (JP Morgan) no one listend to him,
    And her we are.
