Default The Eclipse and 'Shadow Snakes' Baffle Scientists. (Why snakes?)

Rushing off a post to see if anyone saw this video from "Smarter Every Day" showing how the total eclipse cases a brief phenomenon known as "shadow snakes" that scientists can't explain. What are your thoughts?

That's a great video, thanks for sharing.

Been thinking about the shadow snakes. They're visible before the first diamond ring and after the second diamond ring, when there's just the last and then first slither of sunlight there. So that's rare light, full sun but only the slither, so maybe it's energy that's usually not visible in normal light and it casts those shadows on the ground and can be seen at that time.

I can shift my focus and see different energies with my eyes, there's an energy that looks like fine rain everywhere that I can see at a mid distance, it's uniform but it's clear, but then there's another energy that looks like fast moving, whispy clouds, so that sort of energy could cast a low contrast shadow but I can't see past a foot or two when I'm looking at that and I can't see if it's uniform like the shadow snakes, it doesn't seem to be. Anyway, if there is energy like that around, but uniform and not clear, then it could be shadows cast by energy that's only visible in that particular light.

My plants withered from some very strong rays and an avacado plant was "radiated on the stalk/stem and looked like it exploded out and mended like a crop circle stalk. I brought them inside on the back sun porch. After the drumming rain we got last night, I think they need rest from the sun and just light for a week or two. Really damaged but I've got a green thumb.

While living in an Aztec Indian village in Mexico during the 1960's, I remember a Total Eclipse & what I can recall now is what an eerie feeling it gave me & the weird leaf shadows from the trees. Didn't know enough to look for the "snakes"!

I found Solar Eclipse Timer and GPS Converter by Gorden Telepun in the iPhone App Store - free.
