There is also an orthodox church chisseled into there somewhere but I left it out and concentrated on the really old stuff.

Awesome pics uzn, it boggles the mind at how sophisticated this ancient society must've been

This vid below has already been posted in post 6 of this thread, but I feel it deserves highlighting again due to some interesting connections that can be made.

At 5 minutes in it talks (and shows pictures) of a black pyramid, then talks of megalithic stones 10 times the size of those found at Baalbek, shows evidence of sulphur balls that could've been used in an ancient war to attack and decimate these ancient structures (could account for some of the pock like scars burnt into some of these ancient sites), a human tooth 1.5 times the size of ordinary teeth indicating the presence of giants.

And the other data point I found significant is the mention of failed military bases set up in the area, failed because the area is so energetically charged that the copper wire used in the sites electronics kept burning out and becoming short circuited. This part reminded me of the energy weapons the Russians have been using to switch off the electronics of US navel ships, causing them to float defenceless in the ocean while Russian planes run mock attack drills across the ships hull. Could the Russian energy technology have been reverse engineered from these ancient sites?

There's also stories of 300,000 year old nano structures being found in the Ural Mountains, what have become known as out of place artefacts

There's also stories in Tibet of the first Buddha, a pre-historic Bon shaman who originated from Zhang Zhung 18,000 years ago. Zhang Zhung is considered to be a land of the gods that existed to the west of Tibet, its interesting that Tibetan lamas still make a yearly pilgrimage to sites found in aratta above the Black Sea, according to Tim and Lee Hookers presentation on aratta.

Anyway, definitely a fascinating and as of yet vastly unexplored area of the world, a deeper study of which could radically alter our perceptions of world history. Again uzn, thanks for the thread

Big Stoneballs can also be found in russia. As in all other parts of the world. There are no real theories about how or why they are there. Some arue ist vulcanic clumps flew through the air and formed Stonespheres. But the size suggest thats not the case. Other more open minded persons speculate it could have been ancient ammo of sorts. But nobody really knows.

Some were found on the Champ Island, Franz Joseph Land, Russia

Huge stone spheres in Mangistau, Kazakhstan

These here are the famous Costa Rica Stone Spheres, very similar to the ones found on Champ Island

    One possibility among others: Concretions:

    Concretions in Western Kazakhstan

Mosaic shows spherules, some partly embedded, spread over (smaller) soil grains on the Martian surface.

    Moeraki Boulders, New Zealand

Moqui Marbles, hematite, goethite concretions, from the Navajo Sandstone of southeast Utah. The cube at the top is one cubic centimeter in size.

... another one is the occurrence of natural, high speed water tumblers that abrade/polish rocks into shape like I suspect this one to be a result of:

... where a boulder got tumbled around in a mountain gulch AND drilled the hole it was tumbling in...

Never mind when both phenomena are combined: Nodules + wave actions:

Concretions on Bowling Ball Beach (Mendocino County, California) weathered out of steeply tilted Cenozoic mudstone
"La réalité est un rêve que l'on fait atterrir" San Antonio AKA F. Dard

Troll-hood motto: Never, ever, however, whatsoever, to anyone, a point concede.

Logical, vibrational, love geological history. My earliest fanaticism, not the Beatles, but with a specialist hammer on Tallentire Hill looking for trilobites etc, and finding them hundreds of feet above sea level, so overwhelming... makes shopping in the local supermarket irrelevant in the great scheme of things! My old geology teacher 'Trigger' also taught my father and brother, so we have always had a great respect for Lakeland history, we can tap a geode, and love a drumlin. So lucky to live here... ❤️

Off-topic on this thread, but some stone spheres ('petrospheres', they're called) do seem pretty hard to explain. There are many in Costa Rica: just search for ["stone spheres" + "Costa Rica"] and you'll be inundated with interesting images.

    Here are just a few:

Yes. This is a great thread. Like many others, I was very familiar with ancient anomalous megaliths in Central and South America, Europe, and the Middle East.

But very few of the sites posted here I knew much if anything about.... please keep it all coming.

I find some of them just a bit to perfect to be comforting

Lets draw the attention to the biggest Cave complex in Georgia. It´s basically a City in a mountain. In the middle ages an earthquake took down a lot of the fasade.
It´s called City Cave Vardzia. The History is very foggy. Mainstream Archeologists want to give the ehole credit to some middle aged Monks.
    Wikipedia is not so sure:
Soviet-era excavations have shown that the area of Vardzia was inhabited during the Bronze Age and indicated the reach of Trialeti culture.
(Yeah thanks Wikipedia, that leaves us with the typical guess of about 3000 -1000 BC).

But that´s about it. Well of course these caves are ancient and have been reutilized in the middle ages as a Monostary. And they did some serious rechisseling and added a basilika in there. But the old smell and feel is all in there:

That is what the Monks used it for:
The greater Vardzia area includes also the early eleventh-century church at Zeda Vardzia and the tenth- to twelfth-century rock village and cave churches of Ananauri. The main lower site was carved from the cliff's central stratum of tufaceous breccia at an elevation of thirteen hundred metres above sea level. It is divided into an eastern and a western part by the Church of the Dormition. In the eastern part of the complex are seventy-nine separate cave dwellings, in eight tiers and with a total of 242 rooms, including six chapels, "Tamar's Room", a meeting room, reception chamber, pharmacy, and twenty-five wine cellars; 185 wine jars sunk into the floor document the importance of viticulture to the monastic economy. In the western part, between the bell tower and the main church, are a further forty houses, in thirteen tiers and with a total of 165 rooms, including six chapels, a refectory with a bakery, other ovens for baking bread, and a forge. Beyond the bell tower the complex rises to nineteen tiers, with steps leading to a cemetery. Infrastructure includes access tunnels, water facilities, and provision for defence

A brief note about those fascinating honeycombed 'cave cities'. There are a few of those in Tibet, including one spectacular one that looks a little similar.

Speculation is that when they were inhabited, there were extensive solid wooden structures (balconies, platforms, stairs) attached to the front of the cliffs, which have long since fallen away and been destroyed by the elements. That certainly seems to make a great deal of sense.

Some more pictures of the ancient Cavehousing complex wrongly called Fortress Mangup.
The 2nd up to the 4th post in this Thread are already of the same Cavehousings.

This is the remains of Fortress Mangup:

These are the ancient Cavehomes. Clearly mistakeable with the above architectural style for the modern archeologist.
