The whole Area is of the finest sandstone and has been a querry already in ancient times.
Even when the Germans conquered the lands they where knocked off their shoes by what they found, they censored it:

Here another photo of these ancient big quarry shafts

Here one getty Picture in that houses have been built in the "quarry"
    http://www.gettyimages.de/detail/nac...re-id501377745

unfortunatly it is still used as a quarry and knowbody knows how many ancient Caves have been destoyed already.
Here you can see were they hit some caves:

Wikipedia on the History of Inkerman(n):
The area has been inhabited since ancient times. The cave monastery of St. Clement was founded near Inkerman in the 8th century by Byzantine icon-venerators fleeing persecution in their homeland. The monastery was closed during the Soviet era and several of its churches destroyed but is now in restoration and brought back into use.

And that´s only half the truth, The monastery was built into an already existing ancient cavesystem, they kind of forgot to mention it.

and not so easy to find: next to the monastary

But the Monastary was just for starters, now sit back and relax.
Here comes the train to the station next to the monastary.
Just for fun, try to count all the caves you see

The material presented in this thread is amazing.

I cant express fully the gratitude I feel to be allowed the privilege to know these places and structures exist.
That these and many other images, videos, lectures and so on are now making it out of small circles of experts and 'cognicenti' into a far wider domain speaks volumes for the obvious shift in human affairs, both technologically and socially/politically.

There really has been a sea-change.

I've noticed in my daily thoughts that these images keep returning and are a regular draw back to this thread.
This is disclosure. And it's coming from you and me, the everyday ordinary folk who are here reading and participating in this dissemination.

Worth bearing in mind that, as Richard Dolan warned, it will be unsettling on many levels, not least of which is the sense of thinking one knows what's going on here in life - until enough anomalous information makes for serious questioning.

The state of existence described by many as 'normal' is like the sense of 'normal' in the body known as homeostasis. Any change in homeostasis is experienced as discomfort - even a change for the better.

    These are unsettling times.
    Amazing times.

less than 30 Kilometers from Inkermann (Crimea) is another amazing ancient cave complex called Kachi Kalyon (Качи-Кальон).
This one goes under the radar by pretending to be a cave monastery. If you are looking for ancient stuff or caves you wont find it.
As seen in the old photographs of the "quarry" of Inkerman here can be seen very large openings too.
And remember just because some monks found these caves quite comforting some hundred years ago does not mean they built it, just passengers on a cave.

Both big openings could have been made by something.

    It´s a perfect gigantic roof.

Around 8 km to the North of Kachi Kalyon and 40 km from Inkermann is another big ancient cave complex called Chufut-Kale (Чуфут-Кале).
There are a lot more caves on the crimean Peninsula, but this one is uniqe in it´s style. It has a more rectangular feel to it but is nethertheless very ancient.
Chufut-Kale was a fortress in medieval times. This place was inhabitated in ancient times and this hill has been lives in or built upon by everybody throughout history. I am as always going for the really old stuff, not looking to much at the medieval ruins and Buildings.

    Wikipedia is not very forthcoming:
Building started about the 5th or 6th century and has been built upon by bla bla bla .. And Wikipedia says it translates into jewish fortress(Crimean Tatar and Turkish), as if the jews build it, it appears much much older. My guess would be that the jews were there at some point in time maybe.

    Old caves in the mountain.

Medieval fortification walls but also ancient caves in the back.

Just look at this road going up the mountain I think I dont Need to say anything to this. Marks like this can be found on Malta Turkey etc.
