Apparently, as we haven't heard from him yet.

Reporting here for those who can't. I had a chance to communicate with my parents and brother. They're doing fine. There's damage to their home but nothing that would severely impact their quality of life. My husband also communicated with his parents, they're also doing fine. With that said, I have to add that we haven't heard from all of them since yesterday evening.

The eye of Maria has left the island but there's tons of rainfall. Some areas have seen up to 18” of rain, might be more. I've seen the damages in social media outlets like Facebook. You can use the link provided and see for yourselves (https://es-la.facebook.com/tmcaribe/). It's bad, really bad. Kind of reminds me of a mix between the Harvey floods and Irma’s destruction. We've confirmed with my husband’s parents that indeed the entire island is 100% without power. This has never happened since Puerto Rico had electricity. There was a hurricane in 1928, the San Felipe, and that one caused major destruction in the island. This one is far worse than San Felipe. We haven't heard from other family members or friends at all. The south (from southeast through southwest) doesn't have communications at all. There have been reports of mudslides in the south. People outside of PR are desperate. It's quite maddening, really.

I haven't heard from Madeira yet. I texted his wife (we grew up together—how small is the world, right?) but she never answered my text. Their house, as far as I know, isn't near the river, and that's good because their town has gotten around 15” of rain. All rivers and bodies of water have overflowed and are running through the streets. Some dams had to be opened which means that neighborhoods will be flooded. The surge from the coasts got deep inside. My dad owns a business near the beach in the south-southeast of the island. I don't know if he lost the building or not (and he just finished remodeling the place this past June).

There's going to be lots of financial ruin in an already financially ruined land. I live in Central Florida and did find out that the eye of Irma went over my neighborhood as Cat 2. We were extremely lucky that we didn't have serious damage (just a few shingles in the roof were blown away). It will be our job to help our families by offering them our house. Yes, the island is facing months of not having power (and running water). They say is between 3-6 months but it can be more than that. They need to send people from the USA to help since the electricity infrastructure has collapsed. Workers are busy with Texas and Florida (and Georgia). This just plainly sucks. The good thing is that Puerto Ricans are stubborn to boot. The people will stand up and rebuild. Puerto Rican's, like us, living outside of the island will help economically. We already begun

I lost communication with my parents and brother about hour and a half ago. It's 10:30am EST now. My in-laws have been lucky and haven't lost their cellphone signal (yet). They live in the north and are far away from Maria's track. My family is closer to the eye's path, they may actually fall in the eye. Will know once they communicate with me. 😔

Madeira lives farther from my parents but he's getting battered by winds and rain.

This link (https://www.facebook.com/keila.l.cru...55235655374690) will take you to a video from a Facebook post that was on my feed. Guayama is a town located close to where the eye entered the island. It's bad. I'm just praying that the damages are not so catastrophic because the island isn't doing good already.

Seeing the destruction from afar is quite maddening. Me and my husband are trying to keep calm.
It's unbelievable. My husband's mother, grandmother and uncle live in Bayamon. Very worried about them. Please keep us updated if possible. The safety of you and others in Maria's path are in my thoughts.
I lived in Bayamón. The town gets flooded easily. I have family living there too and haven't heard from them yet. I hope your husband's family is doing fine. I've seen pictures and videos from neighboring Guaynabo and it's bad.
I am trying very hard to "hold the pole" with my emotions, but my heart sank a mile while reading your post. Thank you for the updates and what you offered about Bayamon. My husband said his family does not live near a river, but who knows. He could be mistaken. Continue to be safe.

When I go out side it looks like I live somewhere-else, every tree is stripped of leaves (only about 1/3 of the trees actually got knocked down, most just lost big branches), some have their bark stripped off, we were getting gusts of 176mph before the wind meters broke off their stations and quit reporting.

I lost small parts of my roof and 5 solar panels (they landed with in about an 800 foot radius of my house, it was kind of a fun scavenger hunt). Our house got minor flooding and the property has a lot more dirt in some areas from run off. All of our fences are compromised but none of the horses were injured or missing (surprisingly). Almost all of my gutters are gone so I can't collect rain water until I fix that (which will be a priority, that's what I water the horses with). Our pigs made it through the storm and we have this poor humming bird that keeps circling our property looking for flowers (all of those are gone).

I'm still trying to processes it all, apparently we should plan to be with out power for a few months, but stores will be open as soon as the curfew is lifted, so that's a good thing.

there is one cell tower left on the island (well the bottom half of it is still there) so we get some service if you know where to drive, no internet (My modem was full of water when I plugged it in today.. doubt that thing will work again.. haha, I dumped a good half cup of water out of it after the sparks flew...).

Mostly I'm worried about the horses, we were only able to care for them because of the money we got from tourists taking horse-back-tours; I don't think that will be happening again for a while (maybe sooner than I think? hopefully?) so I need to figure out a way to pay for all the horse expenses.

I've got some video of before, during, and after; I'll see if I can get it uploaded tonight (I'm at work, we have internet). The concrete walls of my house were shuddering and vibrating; that was a pretty crazy experience with the "bad winds" lasting for about 6 hours, and my entire family was playing "guess what that noise was from" every few min...

It could be worse, my solar system was damaged somewhat but still keeps the fridges cool for about 10 hours a day (which is a huge bonus, storing food is one of the more important issues for most people now) and lets us run fans and the water pump (to water the horses, take showers etc..) I also have a generator if I need power at night (solar batteries don't last more than 2 hours after sun down) so I'm not as bad off as some people.

Looks like it's going to be an interesting next few months.

as soon as we are done moving trees, fixing fences etc.. we will do a fund raiser, definitely. Until this point I've been pretty proud of the fact that we are mostly a self funded rescue; but that's probably not going to be the case in the future if we can keep this going.

And it's perfectly ok to be proud of what you have accomplished and also to reach out and ask for help in times of need. This disaster was not your doing. I'm sure there are a lot of people who would love to help in any way they can.

It does look like paypal is experiencing some issues (I tried it myself and get an error), maybe due to Maria, it didn't hit PR as hard as it hit us, but I'm sure there was still some damage.

I don't think anyone has posted Patrick Roddie's videos on geoengineering and this summer's hurricanes. Roddie is with StopSprayingUs.com. If you only have time to watch one, the 9-min. "Massive chemtrail spraying over Hurricane Irma, 9-11-17" is good. Roddie, using NASA satellite imagery, shows spraying in Irma.

There's something that looks like a massive hurricane forming to the west of Britain today.

I wonder where that is going to move to before it's done. We don't normally have such things bothering us.

Thank you! I don't have much, but I will give what I can.
    Thanks!

It does look like paypal is experiencing some issues (I tried it myself and get an error), maybe due to Maria, it didn't hit PR as hard as it hit us, but I'm sure there was still some damage.
PayPal feature on your site is working again. I just donated. I hope it helps.

EDIT: After the transaction completed, instead of being routed back to your site, I saw one of those "hacker" warning pages. Please confirm that you see my donation if possible.

That is massive! If that eye tightens up I hate to think what could happen. It has all the markings of a huge storm. WOW.

A member recently pointed out to me the interesting fact that the names of two of this year's hurricanes, when considered together could raise a few eyebrows.

    Those being

    Lee

    and

    Harvey
All the above is all and only my opinion - all subject to change and not meant to be true for anyone else regardless of how I phrase it.
