SENATOR EXPOSES SYRIAN WMD FALSE FLAG
    4/13/18

    Quote Bobby Powell
    Published on Feb 9, 2018
Virginia Senator Dick Black exposes the WMD false flag in Syria, which was really carried out by the remnants of ISIS and not Syrian President Assad. Why would Assad use chemical weapons on civilians, knowing that it would draw world-wide condemnation and intervention, when the jihadists are surrounded and on the brink of annihilation?

Senator Black also confirms that Hillary Clinton ordered the murder of Libyan Ambassador Christopher Stevens in order to cover up her own treasonous weapons deals with Syrian al-Qaeda/ISIS forces.
A war with Syria means a war with Russia and Iran. If you're on Twitter send this to @realDonaldTrump and @POTUS so President Trump will see it. On Facebook, post it on President Donald Trumps page.

Quote "Listening to Virginia Senator Dick Black talk realpolitik with zero BS gives me hope for the world! I didn’t know there was a serving Senator who speaks freely, like this! The 31-year military veteran who has spent a lot of time in Syria talks about the rogue CIA, Hillary’s murder of Libyan Ambassador Stevens, Barack Obama’s arming of ISIS and so much more with the weary yet sober demeanor of a wizened insider.
Some among my readers still believe parts of the Mainstream Media (CIA) false narrative and wrote nasty things in response to my newsletter yesterday with the video by Jake Morphonios. This interview with Senator Dick Black from Virginia goes way further, substantiating Morphonios’ allegations and exposing so much more skullduggery in Syria, Libya and beyond.
After the previous false flag bombing in Syria early this past February, Senator Dick Black joined The Truth Viral’s Bobby Powell for a conversation."

The RT report is pretty good , the Fox news segment with Former Shiloh, Israel
Mayor David Rubin says a lot imo , as expected he blames Iran and they did it
because they have chemical weapons. He does not think it will escalate which
is also a gauge as they see these attacks regularly , he also says Saudi would
like the Iranians attacked in Syria.

This looks like a last gasp attempt by the deepstate assets to stop the run
of gains Assads forces have made in the last year. The CBS is another
mainstream orientated view from western intel sources and news reporting.

Turns out, sources reporting on chemical attack in
Douma are sponsored by West… Still surprised?

Steve Pieczenik has good contacts in intel and military and he say Israel is
behind this Syria chem attack and more...

The Fox segment is another mainstream segment and because of the state
of war the US has been since 9/11 they can legally assassinate Assad with
the CIA or other teams as they supposed to have done with Bin Laden.
    Basically a hawkish segment....

The RT segment shows civilians in Douma filmed by Russian military police.

The CBS piece has spokesperson Heather Nauert just spouting Syria did it
    propaganda.

The Fox segment says US ships are on the way to the med..

As the rest of the world catches up on this stupid attack on Assad by the US, UK and France, with again no proof or evidence that Assad was responsible for the alleged chemical attack.

Donald Trump orders 'precision strikes' on Syria over chemical attack - read his statement in full

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...-a8304131.html

Donald Trump said the air strikes launched in coalition with Britain and France were to punish the Syrian regime for the chemical attack which killed more than 70 people.

In the televised address, the US president said the allies would continue their response until Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, ceased its use of chemical weapons.

Here is his statement in full:

James Mattis says 'this was a one-time shot' - for now

My fellow Americans, a short time ago I ordered the United States armed forces to launch precision strikes on targets associated with the chemical weapon capabilities of Syrian dictator of Bashar al-Assad.

"A combined operation with the armed forces of France and the United Kingdom is now underway. We thank them both. Tonight I want to speak with you about why we have taken this action.

"One year ago, Assad launched a savage chemical weapons attack against his own innocent people. The United States responded with 58 missile strikes that destroyed 20% of the Syrian airforce.

"Last Saturday the Assad regime again deployed chemical weapons to slaughter innocent civilians, this time in the town of Douma near the Syrian capital of Damascus. This massacre was a significant escalation in a pattern of chemical weapons use by that very terrible regime. The evil and despicable attack left mothers and fathers, infants and children thrashing in pain and gasping for air. These are not the actions of a man, they are crimes of a monster instead.

"Following the horrors of World War One a century ago, civilised weapons joined together to ban chemical warfare. Chemical weapons are uniquely dangerous not only because they inflict gruesome suffering but because even small amounts can unleash widespread devastation.
"The purpose of our actions tonight is to establish a strong deterrent against the production, spread and use of chemical weapons. Establishing this deterrent is a vital national security interest of the United States. The combined American, British and French response to these atrocities will integrate all instruments of our national power: military, economic and diplomatic.

"We are prepared to sustain this response until the Syrian regime stops its use of prohibited chemical agents. I also have a message tonight for the two governments most responsible for supporting, equipping and financing the regime. To Iran and to Russia I ask - what kind of regime wants to be associated with the mass murder of innocent men, women and children?

"The nations of the world can be judged by the friends they keep. No state can succeed in the long run by promoting rogue states, brutal tyrants and murderous dictators. In 2013 President Putin and his government promised the world that they would guarantee the elimination of Syria's chemical weapons. Assad's recent attack and today's response are the direct result of Russia's failure to keep that promise. Russia must decide if it will continue down this dark path or if it will join with civilised nations as a force for stability and peace.Hopefully some day we'll get along with Russia and maybe even with Iran. But maybe not.

"I will say this, the United States has a lot to offer. With the greatest and most powerful economy in the history of the world, in Syria the United States, with but a small force being used to eliminate Isis, is doing what is necessary to protect the American people. Over the last year nearly 100 per cent of the territory once controlled by the so-called Isis caliphate in Syria and Iraq has been liberated and eliminated.

"The United States has also rebuilt our friendships across the Middle East, we have asked our partners to take greater responsibility for securing their home region including contributing large amounts of money for the resources, equipment and all of the anti-Isis effort. Increased engagement from our friends including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt and others can ensure that Iran cannot profit from the eradication of Isis.

"America does not seek an indefinite presence in Syria, under no circumstances. As other nations step up their contributions we look forward to the day when we can bring our warriors home, and great warriors they are. Looking around our troubled world, Americans have no illusions. We cannot purge the world of evil or act everywhere there is tyranny. No amount of American blood or treasure can produce lasting peace and security in the Middle East. It's a troubled place. We can try to make it better but it is a troubled place. The United States will be a partner and a friend, but the fate of the region lies in the hands of its own people.

"In the last century we looked into the darkest places of the human soul. We saw the anguish that can be unleashed and the evil that can take hold. By the end of World War One more than one million people had been killed or injured by chemical weapons. We never want to see that ghastly spectre return.

"So today the nations of Britain, France and the United States of America have marshalled their righteous power against barbarism and brutality. Tonight I ask all Americans to say a prayer for our noble warriors and our allies as they carry out their missions, We pray that God will bring comfort to those suffering in Syria, we pray that God will guide the whole region toward a future of dignity and of peace and we pray that God continue to watch over and will bless the United States of America. Thank you and good night."

Well this could get quite nasty...Russia now saying there will be consequences, what a bloody palava. Some of the The Human race is shameful, where is this all leading to.

    ********

Russia responded angrily to a U.S.-led strike against Syria on Friday, warning of unspecified "consequences" that stoked fears the conflict could escalate.

President Donald Trump ordered targeted military action in the country, following an alleged chemical weapons attack that reportedly left dozens of citizens dead.

Russia, which has backed the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad, has joined Damascus in denying an attack even took place — even though U.S. authorities have declared it did with near certainty. The dispute over Syria was the latest wedge between the West and Russia, which has been embroiled in conflicts on multiple fronts with western governments.

In a statement released on Twitter, Russia's ambassador to the U.S. said the country was being "threatened," and issued an ominous warning that reprisals could follow.

There is a massive massive thing being missed here. It is about locking down very powerful Earth Energy centers in that region. They are called Earth Womb Chakras. Syria has some key ones that if they fully wake up. There will be a domino effect for the 2-300 others around the world. Many major temples of ancient times have been built to honor them and thus been destroyed etc. Our ancient ancestors lived with this knowingness in them as to the indigenous who are caretakers of such things.

The purpose for the distortion for the nonsense war occurring there for as long as it has with all the various players / countries all being involved. It is because that faction that wishes to maintain control on the surface MUST be all in here to lock this Earth region down. Hence, the real consistent fact is makes NO sense whats going ok.....for so many years whether it be ISIS manufactured to create destabilization, all the fake gas attacks to be presented in some violation way that creates the manufactured consent in the media that then at least for a segment of society. Allows this stuff to occur for no real purpose. Other to represent some governments as the big baddies...has a core ingredient. The war energy is suppressing these. Like we each can be traumatized when negative stuff happens in our lives. The macro of this is Earth can be (and has for a very long time) also. So...think when there are mass shootings, terror attacks, civil disease in other regions of the world. I can assure you doing grid work...it is to suppress Earth herself ok.... So, i really encourage you to add this variable to your research if you haven't. It is enormously rewarding and a gateway to your increased perceptions and other potentials. The answer for you as an individual to counteract this IS to forge a deeper bond with the Earth being herself. Access your latent 'shaman' potential etc. Go explore healing proactively. You can negate it by such things. It is the greatest investment you can make being here.

So...add this variable to the seemingly patternless events occurring..Ask...What is going on with Earth in these regions at some increased rate. There is a direct correlation between us as souls in human body's and her.

    Cheers all

I think David Icke has been predicting this situation for quite a long time. In my opinion he nails it in this video.

We have collectively failed to protect our countries against our biggest problem which is psychopathy amongst our world "leaders"

Very sad situation. Let's hope this does not develop into a new world war.

what was the actual "on the ground" damage?

heard any details on that, so far I've found nothing conclusive.

Quote For those asking: tens of anti-air missiles were fired at 04:00 until 05:15 am against the incoming missiles over #Syria and hit their target in the air. It shows the intensity of fire power and the same intensity in the air defence system deployed in #Syria.
what was the actual "on the ground" damage?

heard any details on that, so far I've found nothing conclusive.
The Syrian Partisangirl reports on her twitter feed...

Quote A calm has descended after #US strikes on #Syria were mostly deflected. But do not mistake the calm for the end of hostilities nor be lulled into a false sense of security. Every second that passes till the next strike, is an opportunity to stop #wwIII that should not be missed
    She suggests:
    1. The majority of incoming missiles were intercepted by anti-missile defense systems.
    2. Chemical weapons factories were not the targets of the missiles (as reported by western press), the missiles that did make it through the defenses were targeted at ordinary, residential buildings i.e. innocent civilians.
    3. The Syrians are largely unfazed by the latest international war crimes perpetrated by the West, sharing memes of bemusement on their social media:

Thank you, Alpha 141. There really IS something that is part of this picture that we are not "getting"! There are forces at work here that we are not aware of; pieces of the puzzle that we do not have access to. Maybe this IS our "disclosure"!

Action: over 100 missiles launched, ship-based cruise missiles + British and French air-to-ground.

About 70 were intercepted or "steered off course" by cheap Soviet-era defenses. The remainder fell on targets that were known in advance, because they were assigned by Russia, and Syrian personnel had abandoned them. Of the hundreds of millions worth of armaments fired, three civilians were injured by shrapnel.

This attack was what Russia allowed them to do: waste a lot of stuff on nothing so they could have a parade about it.

About Those 'Nice, New, Smart' Missiles And The 'Chemical Weapons' Sites in Syria

    Joe Quinn Sott.net
    Sat, 14 Apr 2018 17:32 UTC

Throughout the 20th century, the US ability to project power and dominate global geopolitics was, to a large extent, based on the the general perception the US was the most powerful military force in the world. In most cases, the mere threat of this military prowess was enough to 'get things done' the American or Western way. The maintenance of the widespread belief in US military preeminence is therefore extremely important to the US establishment and any event that might expose a different reality is to be avoided at all costs. When US/Western military might is physically demonstrated, a careful propaganda campaign and media management of the outcome is necessary, up to and including outright lies about the performance of the military tech used. No surprise there.

In the first Gulf War for example, the performance of US Patriot missiles in shooting down Iraqi Scud missiles fired at Israel, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait was lauded by Western powers and the media. A 95% success rate was claimed at the time with then President George Bush claiming that the Patriot's record was "near perfect". Over the following year however, the US Army lowered this estimate to 79% over Saudi Arabia and 40% over Israel. A later report by the General Accounting Office concluded that Patriot missiles destroyed only 9% of the Scuds they tried to engage. The Israeli Defense Force calculated the hit rate at just 2%.

On the night of Jan. 25, 1991 in Tel Aviv, three Patriots that were fired into the air fell back to earth and exploded. Two of them hit residential areas and the Israeli newspaper Ma'ariv reported at the time that one Israeli was killed, 44 were wounded, and 4,156 apartments were destroyed. That incident and a few others like it led Ted Postol, an MIT weapons scientist, to testify before a congressional committee that, "it is possible that if we had not attempted to defend against Scuds, the level of resulting damage would be no worse than actually occurred."

In a documentary aired on Israeli television in 1993, Moshe Arens, who was Israel's Defense Minister in the gulf war; Gen. Dan Shomron, who was chief of staff of the Israel Defense Force during the war, and Haim Asa, a member of an Israeli technical team that worked with the Patriot missile during the war, all dismissed the Patriot. General Shomron described accounts of the Patriot's success as "a myth." Mr. Asa called them "a joke." All concurred with a 1991 report by the Israeli Air Force concluding that "there is no evidence of even a single successful intercept" although there is "circumstantial evidence for one possible intercept."

The point being, the US has a track record of lying about the effectiveness of its missiles.

After 100+ cruise missiles or cruise missile variants were fired at targets in Syria early in the morning on April 14th, President Trump declared "mission accomplished" and tweeted that it was "a perfectly executed strike"

Pentagon officials said that none of the 105 allied missiles fired were hit by Syria's Soviet-era antimissile fire, that the raids were "precise and overwhelming" and Syrian air defences remained "largely ineffective".

An important point that seems to have gotten lost in the media propaganda offensive is that only 3 locations were targeted and hit. Or at least, that's the official story. Lieutenant-General Kenneth F McKenzie told reporters on Saturday that the prime target of the operation was the Barza Research and Development Center in the greater Damascus area. A total of 76 missiles, including 57 Tomahawk missiles, were fired at the facility, he said. He also said that 22 missiles were fired against a chemical weapons storage facility near Homs, and some seven missiles at another chemical weapons bunker in the same area.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph Dunford confirmed that only the three targets were hit, including the Barzeh 'scientific research centre' in the greater Damascus area, which he claimed was used for research, development, production and testing of chemical weapons, a facility just west of Homs which the US claimed was a centre for sarin gas production, and a command post located near the first facility.

The Barzeh 'scientific research center' isn't really a 'scientific research center'. First and foremost it is a University called the 'Higher Institute for Applied Science and Technology' (HIST)
"HIAST was established in 1983. Its aim is to qualify personnel in order to conduct scientific and technological research in all applied sciences and technology fields, so they can participate in the scientific and economic process in Syria. HIAST provides opportunities to make progress in applied research fields by joining courses to be awarded the degree of engineering Diploma, Master and Doctorate."

As part of their 'reporting' on the US government claim that this university housed a "chemical weapons facility", the media reproduced satellite images showing the target area before and after the missile strike. These images were provided to the media by the US government.

    HIST Campus before

    HIST Campus after

Maybe grainy satellite images are preferred by the media because it affords a measure of mystique and distance between the reader and the reality of what they are looking at, but I can't understand why Western media hacks didn't just got to google maps to check the HIST campus out themselves.

Below is an image of the general area of the HIST campus from google maps as it sits on the outer edge of the Barzeh district of Damascus. The "chemical weapons lab", part of the campus that was targeted by US missiles, is circled in red.

And here's a video of a bunch of people hanging out around the ruins of the "chemical weapons" buildings 24 hours after the alleged chemical weapons were hit with 76 cruise missiles. Not a hazmat suit in sight.

Look again at the area that the buildings occupied. 76 cruise missiles, each with a 1,000lb warhead, are said to have hit those 3 buildings, only partly demolishing them. That's 35 tons of high grade military explosives. For comparison, here's a video of just 9 x 1,000lb bombs hitting a building that covers roughly the same area as the HIST buildings.

The UK Independent reported on the cruise missile strikes in general with the headline, "Images show buildings turned to ruin and rubble by Syria air strikes", but then proceeded to show 13 images of the same demolished HIST buildings in the Bazreh suburb of Damascus. Is that perhaps because that is the only 'impressive' evidence they have for the dubious US government claims?

According to Saeed Saeed, head of the Institution for the Development of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industries, the area of the HIST campuse that was bombed was previously used by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) but now works on pharmaceutical products.

"Since the Syria crisis broke out, the country has been short of all kinds of medicines due to the sanctions from Western countries. Foreign companies stopped exporting high-quality medicines to Syria, especially anti-cancer medicines. So we have been conducting researches on anti-cancer medicines here, and three cancer drugs have been developed," he said.

Hang on a minute....something's coming back to me...1998, Sudan, Bill Clinton...cruise missiles...pharmaceutical factory!

The two other areas allegedly targeted by US cruise missiles were to the West of Homs. A "centre for sarin gas production" and a "command post" or a "bunker" (or something like that. It might have been a cow shed).

Now it's time for some 'before and after', not very close up, grainy satellite photos, courtesy of the media (courtesy of the US government) of the two areas shown above. Here's the "center of Sarin gas production" site.

"Sarin gas production site" target. West of Homs. Before

    And after

Now that's some nice shooting there. I count maybe 4 or 5 impacts (small craters) on the ground there and those 3 little buildings gone.

Let's move on to the last of the 3 targeted sites. The "command post bunker" thingy, just a few miles up the road from the above image.

"Command post bunker". West of Homs. Before

    And after

Not so good on this one. Looks like a single impact to the left of the target. The "chemical weapons command post bunker" thingy is, sadly, intact.

So what's our tally? Let's be generous and give 9 x 1000lb cruise missiles to the HIST campus buildings. Let's give 5 more to the "Sarin gas production site" West of Homs and 1 more to that little shed thingy above. That's 15 successful impacts in total, by the US government's own statements and imagery on the 3 targeted sites.

But in the interest of impartiality and objectivity, I'll include the reports that the Mezzeh military airbase just south of Damascus was also hit by cruise missiles according to the Syrian government. Here's a video report by Ruptly.

No damage is shown in the above video, but as a sign of good faith, we'll assume that significant damage was done. So let's give 10 cruise missiles strikes to that airbase. That brings our tally up to 25. Heck, since I'm feeling generous today, I'll throw in another 10 missiles that may have gone off course and hit some empty fields in the Homs or Damascus countryside. That's 35 maximum impacts out of a total of 103 (or 105 or 118 depending on your sources). So the question is; what happened to the rest of Trump's 'nice new and smart' missiles?

The Russians have an answer. According to their radar data on the event, 6 other airbases and airports were also targeted. So why didn't the Pentagon include those in its report on the strikes?
Duwali airbase - 4 missiles fired, 4 shot down

Dumayr airbase - 12 missiles fired, 12 shot down

Baley airbase - 18 missiles fired, 18 shot down

Shayrat airbase - 12 missiles fired, 12 shot down

Marj Ruhayyil airbase - 18 missiles fired, 18 shot down

Damascus airport - 4 missiles fired, 4 shot down.
Assuming this information is true, and we have good reason to believe it is based on my analysis above, we're left to ponder the distinct possibility that the US government initially targeted at least 10 locations with cruise missiles. After the missiles were launched however, (some of them taking 2 hours to reach their destination) many of them were shot down, forcing the US to dramatically down-size its planned report to the media about how many locations were targeted.

But this then posed another problem. How to distribute the 100+ missiles among only 3 locations? Should they divide them equally, 33 (or so) at the HIST buildings and 33 each at the two Homs locations? But would the visible damage tally with the reported number of missiles? The two locations outside Homs were problematic because they were in open farmland and the buildings were far too small to plausibly cover up the missing impact craters. There was only one thing for it, the HIST target, with its 3 sizable towerblocks would have to take the lion's share of the missing missiles. The outrageous number of 76 to be exact.

Apart from the shocking level of FUKUS lies and obfuscation around this most recent attack on Syria - all of which were nauseatingly repeated by the Western press - media hacks also neglected to note the obvious point that blowing up suspected chemical weapons production and storage facilities located in densely populated areas amounts to reckless endangerment of the local population, and possibly a war crime. Then again, maybe the Americans are lying (ya think?). Maybe they know very well that these targets housed no chemical weapons. Maybe they know that, as the US Dept. of State tweeted to John Kerry in 2014.

Maybe they also know that very few of their "nice new smart" missiles made it to their destinations, and on Friday morning, "shock and awe" came, not to Syria, but the halls of the Pentagon.

A little tricky to know exactly which thread to append this to as there are more than one to do with Syria. For now it would make sense to include this here as it also further reinforces what Jake Morphonios has stated already.

"Bin Salman may have a slightly different take on religion to those previously controlling Saudi Arabia, but in fact he is a much more dangerous fanatic. He is an extreme Sunni sectarian, driven by a visceral hatred of Shia Muslims. This is expressed in an aggressive foreign policy, causing a further destabilisation of the Middle East which threatens to tip over into catastrophe, as Bin Salman seeks to turn up the heat against Iran in proxy conflict in Syria, Lebanon and elsewhere. That he is doing so in active and functional alliance with Israel is the world’s worst kept diplomatic secret. Saudi/Israeli cooperation in Lebanon and Syria is to my mind the most dangerous global flashpoint at present.."

Mohammed Bin Salman: The Truth Behind The Reformist Facade

8 Mar, 2018 in Uncategorized by craig

There was a revealing coincidence of timing yesterday. Philip Hammond made a speech in which he pleaded with the EU to allow the UK continued free access to their financial services markets, on the basis of mutually recognised standards. At the same time, Theresa May met the Saudi Crown Prince in Downing Street and discussed specific legal reductions of those standards in the City of London, to allow for the stock exchange flotation of part of Saudi state oil giant Aramco.

It is symbolic because the toxic addiction of the ruling classes to Saudi cash has been lowering British standards of basic decency for generations. The most blatant example was when Tony Blair as Prime Minister intervened directlyin the justice system to prevent the pursuit of corruption charges against the stench-ridden arms dealers of BAE, on grounds of “national security”. The myths about the impartiality of British justice have seldom been so comprehensively exposed. Where there is really dirty money, Blair is seldom far away.

The use of British supplied weapons by the Saudis to maim and kill children in Yemen on an industrial scale has penetrated public consciousness despite the best efforts of mainstream media to sideline it, and Jeremy Corbyn was absolutely right to highlight the involvement not just of arms manufacturers but of the British military. The government and royal fawning has been accompanied by an extraordinary deluge of pro-Saudi propaganda from the mainstream media this last two days for Saudi Arabia and its “reforming” Crown Prince.

There is no doubt that Mohammed Bin Salman has shown a ruthless genius in internal power consolidation in Saudi Arabia, with rivals arrested, shaken down or dying by accident. That he is seeking to end corruption appears less probable than that he is seeking to monopolise its proceeds and thus concentrate power, but time will give a clearer picture. There is no evidence whatsoever that Saudi Arabia is stopping its funding of Wahabbist jihadism across the Middle East and South Asia; indeed it has been stepped up by him, as has the bombing of Yemen.

Bin Salman may have a slightly different take on religion to those previously controlling Saudi Arabia, but in fact he is a much more dangerous fanatic. That he is doing so in active and functional alliance with Israel is the world’s worst keptdiplomatic secret. Saudi/Israeli cooperation in Lebanon and Syria is to my mind the most dangerous global flashpoint at present.

But despite his fawning reception in London, Bin Salman is not having it all his own way. I returned from Doha two weeks ago and in Qatar, Bin Salman has seriously overreached. Angry at Doha’s lack of hostility to Iran, including revenue sharing agreement on cross-border fields, Saudi Arabia has blockaded the small Emirate of Qatar for six months now. The excuse given to the West – that Qatar funds jihadist terrorism – is perhaps the worst example of the pot calling the kettle black in History. But the Saudi demands, including the permanent closure of Al Jazeera, expulsion of Arab dissidents and removal of a Turkish military base, reveal an altogether different agenda.

Qatar has proved much more resilient than anybody expected. The blockade has caused some economic damage but it has been survivable, and the effect has been entirely counter-productive for Bin Salman. Qatar has become closer economically to Iran and has developed new port facilities which reduce import reliance on Saudi Arabia and its satraps. The Saudis had massed troops on the border and threatened invasion, but the Qataris vowed to fight.

Then something remarkable happened which the world mainstream media has almost entirely ignored. Despite Saudi sponsored adverts all over US media portraying named senior Qataris as terrorist sponsors, and despite strong Israeli pro-Saudi lobbying, Donald Trump suddenly called Bin Salman to heel. With Saudi troops massed on the Qatari border, on 30 January the United States signed an agreement with Qatar “to deter and confront any threat to Qatar’s territorial integrity”. This was a massive slap in the face to Bin Salman from Donald Trump, and a result of Tillerson recognising the real threat to the world from Bin Salman’s extreme ambition.

I can only conjecture this received none of the publicity it deserved from the corporate media because it went against the prevailing narrative that Trump can never, in any circumstance, do anything strikingly good, and because it was a blow to Israel. The uber-hawk Clinton would certainly not have crossed Saudi Arabia and Israel in this way. It is an important sign that there is more to Tillerson’s Middle Eastern diplomacy than the stupid decision, motivated by US domestic politics, to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

The elite loves Saudi money all around the world. But the UK is unique in allowing that to blind them absolutely to human rights abuses, the appalling bombing of Yemen, and the extreme dangers posed by Bin Salman’s hyperactive regional aggression towards Shia Muslims. We should be used to seeing Tories kowtowing to money by now. But this week makes me still more sick than usual.

Syria missile strikes: based on what evidence?
    Based on what constitutional authority?

Quote “Let’s see, US Deep State actors from intelligence agencies, the Pentagon, and the Department of State, along with US allies, played a MAJOR role in creating, funding, supplying, and sustaining ISIS, while purportedly doing everything possible to destroy ISIS. No problem. Why should there be a problem?” (The Underground, Jon Rappoport)

Trump and the Pentagon claim the strikes were based on clear evidence President Assad’s forces used chemical weapons on their own civilian citizens.

The Russians point out that international inspectors were due to investigate the chemical-weapons claims on Saturday—and their findings would have denied Assad chemical attacks took place—therefore, to prevent this embarrassment, the US-led missile attacks were launched one day earlier.

FROM: Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity
SUBJECT: Evidence Required for Military Decision on Syria

    Mr. President,

“We the undersigned Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity join a number of other credible experts including former UK Ambassador to Syria, Peter Ford…former UN weapons inspectors and former military officers who are strongly recommending that you obtain and review actual evidence from the site of the alleged chemical attack in Douma, Syria, before ordering any military action. We have long brought to light significant evidence questioning the provenance of chemical weapons indicating that rebel forces may have tried to produce and use such toxic agents in Syria.”

“The main question that arises is, ‘What motive would the Syrian government have to attack its own people when it is enjoying popular support for routing anti-government rebels? Why would it risk Western ire?’…”

Attacks and wars initiated by governments aren’t prefaced by detailed evidence made available to the people. Presenting the whole story isn’t necessary, as far as governments are concerned.

In the US, Congress goes along with the White House. The media go along with the White House.

The last time “evidence” was rolled out—“Saddam was developing WMDs, bought uranium from Niger, bought aluminum tubes for nuke weapons production”—the whole show devolved into a farce and fell apart.

    Now, it’s just “trust us.”

Many Trump supporters aren’t buying the package. They believed Trump when he said the US was going to abandon empire-building and leave foreign nations alone and let them settle their own conflicts.

Now, a number of theories abound. Trump was duped by the military-industrial complex. Trump was never serious about refraining from launching military attacks. Trump is compromising now, but he has a further secret strategy in mind, a brilliant strategy against the Deep State. Trump is bowing to the Globalists, who want to continue destabilizing the Middle East. Trump is actually carrying out an Israeli (and/or Saudi) agenda. Attacking Syria is part of a US, British, and French plan involving access to oil in the region. Trump is pretending to step up his opposition to Russia (Assad’s ally), to prove he isn’t soft on Russia, to deflate the ferocious assault on him vis-à-vis the “Russia influenced the election” claim, to deflect Robert Mueller’s ongoing investigation. Trump wants to improve his poll numbers, which always rise for any president in a time of war. Trump has no idea what he’s doing. And so forth and so on.

There is no will, no determination, no desire, within the US government colossus, to be responsive to the wishes of the American people, when it comes to making war. There is no felt need to explain why war is necessary, in very specific terms that can be verified or rejected. There is no need to wait until evidence is thoroughly investigated.

This is nothing new. Trump is no exception.

Since 1998, how many Americans knew about, cared, responded, or tried to investigate US Tomahawk Cruise missiles launched at Iraq, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, Libya, Syria, Sudan, Bosnia & Herzegovina? And these attacks don’t include the recent history of untold numbers of drone strikes.

“Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the U.S. Constitution grants Congress the power to declare war. The President, meanwhile, derives the power to direct the military after a Congressional declaration of war from Article II, Section 2, which names the President Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces.” (Wex Legal Dictionary)

Presidents, of course, have wormed and weaseled their way around these strictures by calling war “police actions” or “single attacks.”

And now we have this missile attack on Syria, purportedly launched to knock out chemical-weapons facilities.

This is a classic Orwellian operation: The enemy is who we are told the enemy is, and he will remain the enemy as long as our leaders say he is.

Images sent our way are described by official voice-over and given meaning, which we are supposed to accept without question.

The “good forces” opposing the enemy in Syria are named the “rebels,” instead of ISIS terrorists our leaders helped create. This, too, we are supposed to accept.

But wait. According to The Intercept, “So while over 80 members of Congress wrote to Trump on Friday night stating that ‘engaging our military in Syria … without prior congressional authorization would violate the separation of powers that is clearly delineated in the Constitution,’ their action has no impact.”

Strange. Major media haven’t blasted, with big headlines, Congressional opposition to the Trump missile strike. News coverage has been urging and supporting the strike.

It gets stranger. The Intercept: “Trump almost certainly does have some purported legal justification provided to him by the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel [OLC] — but no one else, including Congress, can read it.”

    What?

“The Office of Legal Counsel is often called the Supreme Court of the executive branch, providing opinions on how the president and government agencies should interpret the law.”

“We know that Trump received a top secret OLC opinion justifying the previous U.S. strike on Syria on April 6, 2017. Friday’s bombing undoubtedly relied on the same memo or one with similar reasoning.”

The US Justice Department is “its own judiciary.” And its legal justifications for green lighting military attacks are secret.

    Constitutional Separation of Powers doctrine?

    Irrelevant.

Former long-term US Congressman and presidential candidate, Ron Paul, did much to stir up the American people with libertarian ideas and proposals, and, in the process, large numbers of Americans eventually went over to Trump’s side, believing he was the reincarnation of Paul’s positions—but with a much better reach into the heartland of the country.

Read what Paul wrote on October 2, 2017, and compare it with Trump’s present stance. Paul: “Now that the defeat of ISIS in Syria appears imminent, with the Syrian army clearing out some of the last ISIS strongholds in the east, Washington’s interventionists are searching for new excuses to maintain the illegal US military presence in the country. Their original rationale for intervention has long been exposed as another lie.”

“Remember that President Barack Obama initially involved the US military in Iraq and Syria to ‘prevent genocide’ of the Yazidis and promised the operation would not drift into US ‘boots on the ground.’ That was three years ago and the US military became steadily more involved while Congress continued to dodge its Constitutional obligations. The US even built military bases in Syria despite having no permission to do so! Imagine if Syria started building military bases here in the US against our wishes.”

“After six years of war the Syrian government has nearly defeated ISIS and al-Qaeda and the US-backed ‘moderates’ [‘rebels’] turned out to be either Islamist extremists or Kurdish soldiers for hire. According to a recent report, the US has shipped two billion dollars worth of weapons to fighters in Syria via eastern Europe. Much of these weapons ended up in the hands of ISIS directly, or indirectly through ‘moderates’ taking their weapons with them while joining ISIS or al-Qaeda.”

“’Assad must go’,” proclaimed President Obama back in 2011, as he claimed that the Syrian leader was committing genocide against his own people and that regime change was the only way to save Syrians. Then earlier this year, when eastern Aleppo was about to be liberated by the Syrian government, the neocons warned that Assad would move in and kill all the inhabitants. They warned that the population of eastern Aleppo would flee from the Syrian army. But something very different happened. According to the UN’s International Organization for Migration, 600,000 refugees returned to Syria by August. Half of the returnees went back to Aleppo, where we were told Assad was waiting to kill them.”

“What happened? The neocons and ‘humanitarian interventionists’ lied. Just as they lied about Libya, Iraq, and so on.”

If Trump is sounding like Ron Paul on the issue of Syria, an elephant is a space ship.
    Each breath a gift...
