'Becoming Nobody' Theatrical Trailer - 16 Dec 2019

Quote I tried every chemical possibility to try to stablilize that "state" ... through 100's and 100's and 100's of explorations ... I still "came down", and I kept coming down and coming down and then I went to India and I met Maharaji my Guru, and I met a being who didn't "come down"
Ah, so in other words even IF taking Mind-Altering drugs (such as Ayahuasca or LSD) does indeed induce a very real sense-of-oneness I'd suggest that "you" don't forget it is a "temporary experience" ONLY ... as even meditative experiences are themselves "compounded phenomena", and are therefore transient and unstable eh ?

Eckhart talks of the enlightened experience, which may last for months--but thats not it.
Even the real thing matures--so to speak.
Adyashanti had several awakenings each more profound than the last Dr Hawkins also--both experienced on going Kundalini movement before and after.
Hawkins said--"Only God walks through the final door" This he experience with extreme fear then the unspeakable bliss. Sat Chit Anand.

Ah, I'd suggest, for those with a Christian background, who are perhaps themselves Meditators, here's an interesting article with Bernadette Roberts "The Experience of No-Self" :

Quote In this 1986 interview, former nun Bernadette Roberts describes the state of no-self, a stage she reached twenty years after enlightenment, where consciousness and self are absent.

Thank you for sharing this interview. It really had an impact on me and sure gave me a few "oh yeah" moments. Like Bernadette Roberts, I was really drawn to Buddah's quote on attaining enlightenment - "All thy rafters are broken now, the ridgepole is destroyed" - these simple words seems to give a clear "image/idea" of a house collapsing once the center is removed.

What are you? The unchanging awareness in which all appears. ~Swami Sarvapriyananda (30 Dec 2019)

Ah, what an excellent presentation !!!

To put it simply, I'd say that You the Absolute Consciousness (or the Turiya) are appearing AS the deep-sleep-state, or AS the dream-state, or AS the waking-state, however it seems ... but to "grok" this directly, in one's own experience, I'd suggest that it is neccesary to "look back at yourself" (so-to-say) as a Practice (such as self-inquiry) for however long it may take until there is a Non-Dual moment of Gnosis at which point "you" seemingly realise your so-called True Nature (as the Absolute) eh ?

Oh, but funnily enough, it really only ever happens in your Absence ... Ha Ha !!!

Ah, but here's where the "Cosmic Joke" comes into play, Chris, at least, as far as I "grok" such Mysteries ... because it's the Absolute that is projecting "You" as your current experience (including if the "I" is present or not) ... indeed, should "you" seemingly "decide" to investigate your own "self" (via Neti Neti, or Zazen, or self-inquiry etc) then that also is the Absolute projecting such !!!

Thus what I'm suggesting is that one's apparent sense-of-identity which is considered as being "real" is sort of like in the image above ... it's merely a Puppet for the Absolute eh ?

As Swami Sarvapriyananda says (above) : "You are the unchanging awareness in which all appears" !!!
