    Happy 20,000/1,000 to the Village!

Amazing artwork, great find, Carmody, intriguing choice, Ulli. Art like that lives inside of me, I just don't take the time to do it anymore. Sira is constantly telling me to, it just takes so long to draw and paint. Gifts blessed with should be used, though ... I'm goin' silent for a few days, my natal sez I needz ta chill for the 29th harvest moon, or bad things will happen for me.

I think I'll be the dark-hoodied visible dude while I'm waitin' . Yeh ... I'll be dat. Word ta da Village ... Flip mode.

Also, among the many fine considerations, I am acknowledging Jeanette's post above as well worth pondering.

Thank you all for your continued participation in this communal process!

    Blessings!
Great to see you again, Bob.
I saw Jenci's post but didn't want to comment as it is for her to sort out herself if she is feeling at odds with the Village.
But since you asked us to ponder:
I would feel at odds too, if I thought I needed to fix things by telling the fixers to stop fixing.

Jenci, relax, unconditional love is all over this thread, even amongst the healers and fixers.
Trust in your Source. Go within. Don't worry about preaching to the lurkers.
You are not here to start a movement.

Thanks, PL. My dark and light sides are quite well integrated. It's the Fall anyway and my double-scorpionic mode is rising. Might as well reflect it avatarically. Days are shortening, the chill in the wind, the smell of fires, Halloween, my favorite holiday, is near. El Dia de los Muertos right after.

The Days of the Dead always feel so invigorating, the veil is indeed thinner during this time. My favorite time of year.

Harvest Moon directness, Ulli? Lotta drama gonna go down I think. Maybe I'm not the only one who needs to go into temporary hibernation. LOL I don't think Jenci is a Buddhist but yes, we all are indeed on our own Paths. And it is ALL good.

Speaking of the "whack of the one hand" here is the final fight scene from my favorite martial arts movie, Kung Fu Hustle. Go directly to 8:15 to witness the whacking. But if you do that, you'll miss an awesome fight scene from a kid who, throughout the movie, was just a regular guy but who, by the end, realized exactly who and what he was.

I'll take that whack myself. And bow in thankfulness to get it.

A lot of people (both Eastern and Western) assume Buddha was talking about self-improvement, but I would offer that he was pointing to something quite different. We find all sorts of therapies these days that try to incorporate elements of Eastern mysticism, particularly in the psychological field, and there is of course nothing wrong with eclecticism in pursuit of wellness. However, if one examines the fundamentals of Buddhism, it becomes apparent that the core message is not at all about attaining some sort of physical longevity, or even some sense of healthy and well-adjusted ego. Rather, it's about penetrating the fiction of the separate self altogether. No matter how we try to manipulate it, Buddha notes that life itself is stressful, dissatisfying -- Dukkha. The reason it is, is because we attach to and then fixate on provisional identities, self-images, that are impermanent, and which are spawned by craving and aversion. The only way to go beyond this sense of suffering is to understand and see through the viscious cycle of desire and fear that creates a sense of "me" in need of fixing, protecting, preserving, redeeming, and ascending.

Of course, this does not mean one should just ignore their body and let it fall apart. That is just another form of ignorance. The body is a marvelous vehicle with which to experience this realm, and needs proper maintainence to achieve optimum functionality. That is part of Right Living (which I spoke about in a post not long ago). The art of life is finding balance between the recognition of our true and prior nature and divine identity, and the functionality of the physical biological instrument with which we've been blessed (in whatever form it appears) by Source so IT can experience life through us in our own unique form, even if that form happens to be other than the propagandized ideal of glowing and trouble-free psycho-physical health and well-being. In fact, inspecting the motives for the efforts expended on trying to have it conform to some ideal can be quite illuminating, which is what I believe Jeanette was pointing to in her essays on the subject.

    Blessings!

I missed it too! Happy 1000! It's been a real trip so far. The Village, where you can celebrate anything you are, penetrate any place you go, radiate everything you are, imitate everyone you know, indicate everything you see, and you can syndicate any boat you row.... I dig it!!!

    Awesome avatar Rakhyt.
Your explanation finally sheds some light on the preferred choices of art and decorum of my best friend who is also a double scorpion.
He is a Yogha teacher, but always finds chance to pick up clothes, art and gadgets that have a somewhat dark theme to it and he feels perfectly comfortable with it, especially in the fall and winter. I never linked it to his birth sign.

    Hiya Brother!

Yep, she's a dead-eye markswoman, taking Krishna's advice to Ajuna in the Bhagavad Gita, to aim only for the "eye of the bird", a method also known in Zen as the principle of "Joriki" -- "the power or strength which arises when the mind has been unified and brought to one-pointedness in Zazen concentration. This is more than the ability to concentrate in the usual sense of the word. It is a dynamic power which, once mobilized, enables us even in the most sudden and unexpected situations to act instantly, without pausing to collect our wits, and in a manner wholly appropriate to the circumstances. One who has developed Joriki is no longer a slave to his passions, neither is he at the mercy of his environment. Always in command of both himself and the circumstances of his life, he is able to move with perfect freedom and equanimity. The cultivation of certain supranormal powers is also made possible by Joriki, as is the state in which the mind becomes like clear, still water."

I remember when Hugo inquired about Modwiz, Nanoo "la hormiga" and PurpleLama. And he was jealous of Ulli. (Quièn es ésa Daniel?) a year ago.

    Hey Dan! Dan! Daaan?, !

I was watching that movie just 2 nights ago with my lady friend. Coogan is an awesome writer....

One of my favorite movie quotes. " Ill just say, Icarus... if you know what i mean, great, if you dont dosent matter, but you should probably read more "

    KAPOW! Brilliant :-)

Jesus, as much as I love Buddhists, it's the Westerners who keep missing the point the Buddha wanted to make who need the whack of the One hand!
    There, I said it.
Wow..... for me to sort out myself ?? What happened here then....

Quite how you have reached these thoughts to comment like this about me, Ulli, I don’t know but I will just say you are wrong in many ways.

So, I think that’s my cue that the bus stop is at the end of the road so I shall pack my bags. The bright lights of the city are calling. Love to all in the village ...you never know I may send you all a postcard sometime.

    Enjoy your party

    Jeanette
