The House of Saud’s King Salman devises a high-powered “anti-corruption” commission and appoints his son, Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, a.k.a. MBS, as chairman.

Right on cue, the commission detains 11 House of Saud princes, four current ministers and dozens of former princes/cabinet secretaries – all charged with corruption. Hefty bank accounts are frozen, private jets are grounded. The high-profile accused lot is “jailed” at the Riyadh Ritz-Carlton.

War breaks out within the House of Saud, as Asia Times had anticipated back in July. Rumors have been swirling for months about a coup against MBS in the making. Instead, what just happened is yet another MBS pre-emptive coup.

A top Middle East business/investment source who has been doing deals for decades with the opaque House of Saud offers much-needed perspective:

“This is more serious than it appears. The arrest of the two sons of previous King Abdullah, Princes Miteb and Turki, was a fatal mistake. This now endangers the King himself. It was only the regard for the King that protected MBS. There are many left in the army against MBS and they are enraged at the arrest of their commanders.”

To say the Saudi Arabian Army is in uproar is an understatement. “He’d have to arrest the whole army before he could feel secure.”

Prince Miteb until recently was a serious contender to the Saudi throne. But the highest profile among the detainees belongs to billionaire Prince al-Waleed Bin Talal, owner of Kingdom Holdings, major shareholder in Twitter, CitiBank, Four Seasons, Lyft and, until recently, Rupert Murdoch’s Newscorp.

Al-Waleed’s arrest ties up with a key angle: total information control. There’s no freedom of information in Saudi Arabia. MBS already controls all the internal media (as well as the appointment of governorships). But then there’s Saudi media at large. MBS aims to “hold the keys to all the large media empires and relocate them to Saudi Arabia.”

The covert alliance between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Zionist entity of Israel should be no surprise to any student of British imperialism. The problem is the study of British imperialism has very few students. Indeed, one can peruse any undergraduate or post-graduate British university prospectus and rarely find a module in a Politics degree on the British Empire let alone a dedicated degree or Masters degree. Of course if the European-led imperialist carnage in the four years between 1914 - 1918 tickles your cerebral cells then it's not too difficult to find an appropriate institution to teach this subject, but if you would like to delve into how and why the British Empire waged war on mankind for almost four hundred years you're practically on your own in this endeavor. One must admit, that from the British establishment's perspective, this is a formidable and remarkable achievement.

This led some to report that Israel and KSA presented a "united front" in their opposition to the nuclear deal. This was not the first time the Zionists and Saudis have found themselves in the same corner in dealing with a perceived common foe. In North Yemen in the 1960s, the Saudis were financing a British imperialist-led mercenary army campaign against revolutionary republicans who had assumed authority after overthrowing the authoritarian, Imam. Gamal Abdul-Nasser's Egypt militarily backed the republicans, while the British induced the Saudis to finance and arm the remaining remnants of the Imam's supporters. Furthermore, the British organized the Israelis to drop arms for the British proxies in North Yemen, 14 times. The British, in effect, militarily but covertly, brought the Zionists and Saudis together in 1960s North Yemen against their common foe.

I compared this video with a satellite map and it appears to be videoed from the Panorama Towers north of Mandalay and on the other side of the freeway from the Aria. Depth perception is not easy to be discerned but it appears to me that the helicopter first flies toward the concert area and then does a 180 toward the Tropicana which is not visible due to NY,NY casino blocking that view.

I am not yet convinced that it is gun flashes from the lower front (skids?) of the helicopter. Has anyone done some credible research to see if that strobing light is actual gun fire or just a strobing light for safety?

It appears to me that the other strobing light is on the tail rotor, apparently for safety reasons.

The lower front strobing light (or gun flashes?) is also visible on the helicopter in Harley's post 901 above (lower video) flying by the Mandalay Bay casino.

I've been taken in before by the strobelight effects coming from the fourth floor window of the Mandalay Bay.

One point of interest... it has to do with the audio. Clearly one can hear the approaching siren on the police / emergency vehicle, that soon passes into view on the street below... However, there are no gunfire sounds - explosive-like pops - that would be coming from the flashes... I would take it as another strobelight visual. That's my take / opinion on what the flashes are.... night flying safety lights.

My guess (not a careful study) was that the Tropicana was the white building, visible on the right edge of the view, at the skyline, in the opening frames and some later frames. From the camera's viewpoint, the Luxor (black pyramid with capstone light) is to right of the Tropicana, and the NY, NY is visible to the left of the Tropicana.

It appears to me that the white building you are referring to is the Excalibur. Check it out. The Tropicana (Paradise tower next to Las Vegas Blvd) is faintly visible next to and behind the right side of NY,NY. You can see the northwest end of that tower; it is across the big intersection on the strip where shooting and bodies were reported.

You can see it better from this helicopter ride from about the same angle at 3:27 of the video.

You can also see what appears to be a slow moving helicopter coming from the right, about mid-screen and it has two lights, for and aft, at 3:20 of this video. It appears to be by the airport and seems to be too slow for an airplane. I am still reviewing videos to see what the helicopter lights look like at night in Vegas.
