Way back, when I was at primary school, I was walking to school with my sister. I was on the right. Suddenly I find the need to stop walking immediately... I threw my left arm in front of her and stopped her dead in her tracks, then a big bird decided to poop and it splattered on the floor just where she would have been. Not sure what the bird had been eating, but be assured it would have completely ruined my sisters day :)

Not a life saving event, but the fact I still remember it clearly is significant.
