Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<
Such, this was a hell of a find.
My own father's had a stroke and he changed, he slowly learnt to talk again but he never talked much about his stroke or how he felt. This woman is truly amazing, some of the TED talks are beginning to get very interesting indeed. I don't suppose she'd be willing to be interviewed by Bill and Kerry? :) |
Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<

Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<
I choose a little of both sides, but obviously our society is heavy to the left...very good speaker. A neuro scientist has a stroke and experiences only right brain thought as well as near death. i recommend

Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<
My body tingled thruout that vid, very inspiring & very personal to me. I was diagnosed with a half-benign & half-malignant astrocytoma (tumor) in my left temporal lobe which resulted in petit-mal seizures. An astrocytoma is a type of tumor that can be both invasive or dormant & it reacted with my brain chemistry when I was 13 because of my puberty hormonal changes. Also, I was told recently by a different neurologist that surviving an astrocytoma by past records is 1 in a million chances. Of course my past doctors wouldn't have told me or my parents for more worry & fear of my demise. I also have a ? mark scar on the left side of the head like she did & I believe now that the excision of this tumor from my head opened up, no pun intended, different avenues to become a little more aware & open-minded than others @ that particular NOW. We will prevail no matter what happens because this NOW has been planned by US (Universal Self) @ the pinpoint of existence, so please spread the word WE R US ---- Wonderful Everything Remembering Universal SELF (Something Everything Loves Forever) :thumb_yello:
Ps: An astrocytoma is the exact same type of tumor that John Travolta possessed that caused him to have all kinds of psychic powers & knowledge in the movie - Phenomenon! Food for thought. |
Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<
THANK YOU. extremely good find. brings tears to the eyes - the good kind. i love you
|
Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<
Yeah great video but did she have to bring out a real brain? I mean couldn't she just use a model plastic one? I could see people in the audience going WTF!

Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<
That was such a beautiful story, thank you so much for sharing :wub2:

Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<
This was a truly inspiring idea to share with us. I work with stroke patients all the time, and what I see (from this) is that they are in their left hemisphere thinking they are cripples and trying to make the transition to being more than that. It is a difficult but not impossible process. Some people simply give up, and some go on to a half existence. Some thrive in spite of the loss of function in an arm and/or leg.
On the other hand, I have a dog who was hit by a car, and broke her leg at the growth plate, near her hip joint. We discovered, in the course of her treatment, that she had a hole in her heart, which, if not taken care of, would kill her in a matter of months. No one would fix her leg, now detached from her hip, unless the heart surgery was done. I managed to get it done at the University of Florida Veterinary school, and her heart is now whole and she will live a long life. By that time her leg was frozen in place. She walks on it with the foot knuckled under. She has no pain. She runs faster than her buddy Rocky, and walks in a small boot. She is fine. The loss of normal use of her leg did not phase her. She is happy and loving and just fine. The loss of function did not change her view that she could do anything!! What stops us from doing this? |
Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<
Beautiful, and I teared up at the end as well. Most amazing. If only we could all move into that space that we all share, and learn to love and live from it.
|
Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<
if she didn't sound all religious about it would've been 10x better, but still pretty cool especially part about analyzing your own brain.
|
Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<
Thank you.
I enjoyed it. :thumb_yello: |
Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<

Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<
That is beautiful. Feel more. Just feel all these moments, a perception from the inside to the outside. We are sliding now, down the tightening spiral... can you feel the momentum?
Perfect moment for a group hug with a really big and awesome group Great Love, John |
Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<
I've already posted, but have thought about this video since. Ive read soooo many things in here and other places about meditation techniques, how it works etc... tried it myself with some excellent results etc... but this video hit the spot! This is the best description of how we percieve the world that I have seen. Might not everyone like that, but judging by the responses so far, it resonates with a lot of people. A gem! And a great candidate for an Avalon interview, where perhaps even more detail will be revealed. I thank you again.

Amazing video. Thanks so much for drawing us to it. Those TED videos are very high in content quality I watched many of them, but not that one.

Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<
www.ted.com is a really interesting site filled with bright people with good ideas, however they recently gave their annual ted prize to a woman who devoted around 20 years of her life trying to prove the existance of other life in the universe, she didn't succeed it seems, which makes me wonder about the site a little now. And the donors, speakers and organisers are all the kinds of people that this forum doesn't trust one bit. I can't agree or disagree with any of that but this is just to let you know.
Having said all that I thought that speech that she gave was one of the most profoundly enlightening presentations I have ever seen. The way she describes how huge and magnificent she felt when she thought she was leaving her body for good, really makes you think about how glorious we all are and that just can't be bad, now can it? Awe inspiring stuff ! |
Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<
Thanks for a Great Post. Very inspirational.
Have downloaded it for a young lady for whom it is likely to have a major impact. :original::original::original::original::original: :original: |
Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<
I'M HAPPY YOU GUYS LIKED IT!!!
ISN'T IT AN AMAZING VIDEO??? the way she tells the story, the amount of honesty she puts into it is palpable. i think kids should watch this video as part of school curriculum. share the vid with as many people as you can. we all experience through each other, right??? what she has experienced (the sensation of 1) is available to us by just seeing her do her presentation. ----- Quote:

Beautiful...Beautiful...Beautiful... Thank You...
Being a lefty (handed that is) this has tremendous meaning for me. When people have said, "he's not in his right mind" they are usually talking about the left mind. Life is a mirror. I would love to find out more about her work. This is what we need more of. Her stroke was probaly meant to happen in the larger scope of things. Dare I say again...Beautiful...Tao |
Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<
Hi y'all, especially the awesomw kid :original:
I have posted a link to this vid, on what I consider relevant relevant threads on avalon. I have also emailed it to everyone I know. So far not one negative comment! So far only positive vibes and so many have AHA! reactions, I find this an amazing balancing effect, to some of the doom n gloom negativity that is unfortunately in fashion just now. Again thanks to The Kid :thumb_yello: |
Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<
the way she speaks and her body language reminds me of Joel Olsteen

Lovely... My samadhi experience way back many years ago replicated what she experienced... And I carry that same knowledge/feeling with me always and revisit it as often as I wish, with varying degrees of intensity. One doesn't need to experience near death or a stroke.. meditation and careful activation of the kundalini energy will suffice. Kerry |
Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<

Re: >> An Idea Worth Spreading <<
you know...
what i really like about this vid is that it's showing a mind trained in the limited science we possess, expressing itself about the nature of Spirit. at first i thought she was making fun of the nature of Spirit, by trying to explain it as simple biological mechanisms. but then if you look at her eyes closely, you see the pure honesty. i sincerely appreciate the fact that she also wants us to be entertained. now THAT my friend is good entertainment. ha. you know for some time i've dreamed about having a house somewhere in wales. don't ask me why, i've done a bit of research and seen some nice pictures and it looks like such a pretty and peaceful place. i have a good friend in birmingham and she has family in wales and she tells me all the time how cool wales is. i have a thing for britain at the moment. for europe really, as a whole. want to live there and travel as much as i can, you know... as part of my education. gregg xx Quote:
i hold camelot very dear to my heart. what you've done is good work. very good work. i see it as journalism of course, but also art. one of these days we'll meet and we'll talk about things. i think it'll happen somewhere in england. a pleasure to meet you :original:.... gregg xx Quote:
